This workshop has been a great introduction to the coding world for a novice like me. I came in with no knowledge but an open mind and I have learnt a lo during my 8 weeks working on my final project. It is definitely challenging at times but you can always go back to the lessons and get help from the community and the team. Everyone is willing to help and support which is a plus especially when learning something new.

I had a blast matching backgrounds and images with all the different weather conditions. With JS I can design some more interactive screens and have a really cool user experience.I am really excited to start the SheCodes REACT course and have a head start on my dev team's react project. It will definitely help me design a better product that functions best with react.
This advanced course is really a challenge, yet Matt is a great teacher and all the team is always there to help you! The course wasn't easy, but with determination and consistency, you can learn how to code! I am a fashion designer and I decided to change my career after getting introduced to Web Development via research and acquaintances. As a single mother of 2 small children, I cannot rave enough about this workshop. For quite some time I had been wanting to do something different as a career that could really allow me to provide for my daughters. I've always been interested in STEM and with my background as a Science and Math teacher...I was so excited when the most beautiful Godsend appeared on my YouTube recommendation about SheCodes. At first I thought "What is this?" then I clicked and it was amazing to think that in a short clip I found myself wanting to join. I worried that as a single mom juggling kids, homeschool, and play time that there would be NO WAY I could do this and not fall behind but after back and forth emails with Matt I was reassured that I COULD DO IT and that was the moment I took the plunge. I attended the free workshop and as an artsy attention to detail kind of person, watching Matt really allowed me to see myself doing this and becoming passionate about it. I set out on a mission to start and finish and made sure to do so throughout the course of these 3 weeks and I can honestly say that I am so proud of all the knowledge I've gained, so proud of myself and being able to say that I didn't allow anything to stop me from working hard, completing challenges and submitting homework on time. I DID IT! All of the thanks goes out to Matt Delac and his team João, Daniela and the wonderful people on Slack who took time to help me when I got stuck. After 11 years of gap, I started updating my knowledge about computers by doing some free courses, I was frustrated as there is no particular way. While doing these tutorials, I came across SheCodes workshop which matched my expectation to pursue my goal to become a front -end developer. SheCodes courses are well designed and easy to learn. In terms of easy to learn, the courses has not only learning tutorials but also some short challenges and solutions. For someone who doesn't have any Coding background, SheCodes really helped me understand the basics of Javascript. It is very straightforward, simplified and explained in layman's terms. I can't believe I can make a website now! :) Also, I would like to thank the SheCodes team for being so understanding and patient with me, I'm a nurse who is working in London (as you may know we've been hit hard by COVID) they allowed me to get an extension for my project. It is my first online Workshop and I am very much satisfied with the teaching methods, contents and all the support from the Slack team members. Of course Mr Matt is a great teacher, the lessons are short and to the point which never make me feel bored or lose my interest. I have a scientific background so coding for me was really a new (and exciting) experience!
