This React course was a fantastic learning experience! I was able to build a fully functional dictionary app that not only fetched definitions from an API but also integrated stunning images for a more interactive user experience. The most difficult thing for me was to accept that some things in React are just NOT logical, you have to accept it and learn it by heart.
The SheCodes React course has been the hardest one so far, no doubt about it. React is a powerful and in-demand framework, but getting the hang of it wasn’t easy. There were times when I felt really challenged, but the support from the team on Slack was absolutely amazing and helped me push through every hurdle. By the end of the course, I was able to build a fully functioning app on my own, and the sense of accomplishment was incredible. This course has brought me so much closer to my goal of becoming a professional developer, and even though it was tough, it was 100% worth it.

This was a really great crash course into Reactjs! I actually signed up for this workshop 2 years ago but due to life getting in the way I ended up pausing on finishing this even though I was on week 5 of the course. 2 years later I finally had the time to invest back in myself and I logged back on recently. I pulled up my half-finished project and I, to my amazement, could still remember quite alot of what i had learned in 2022. I ended up rewatching all the courses over this last week and half or so just to refresh myself on the content and I was able to finally finish my weather app! It's not perfect but i'm really proud of the fact I finished it. Super thankful to the shecodes team for the quality of the teachings, so much so that I was able to remember so much of the foundational pieces even years later. I had fun learning about all the new updates to Reactjs as well!

For me, developing a weather app was a really fulfilling and thrilling experience. I was excited to be able to merge my love of real-time data applications and my enthusiasm for coding when I started the project. I was immediately enthralled with the process of creating a visually appealing and useful user interface. I had a lot of fun playing around with different color schemes and layouts to create an entertaining and functional app. The integration of the API to retrieve weather data, however, was the true magic. The ability of the program to dynamically display data that was pulled from outside sources was intriguing to watch. It was thrilling to learn how to manage data, handle the complexities of API queries, and make sure the app reacted correctly to user input. Debugging and improving the app to make sure it effortlessly supplied real-time weather updates was a problem-solving exercise that I really loved. All in all, it was an excellent opportunity to combine creativity and study. Witnessing my concepts materialize into a workable program that I could distribute to others was exhilarating. React has proven to be quite difficult to grasp, there is just so much to learn and this was only the tip of the iceberg. I felt like the project would have looked better if there was also a clip about how to do a full conversion to fahrenheit (not only the higlighted temp but also the forecast). I tried googling it but I haven't figured it out.

Definitely a lot to take in with React and building the dictionary app, I was able to follow along for the majority of each lesson, but there were some parts that I still found confusing. Which I ended up taking time of my own to look up to try and gain a better understanding.
Nowadays, React is one of the most useful and efficient libraries for building user interfaces. Unfortunately, the course was recorded a few years ago and hasn't been updated since, making it difficult to follow the steps and submit homework without asking questions on Slack about how to fix various problems.
Whew! This was a tough one. React made me look at coding in a different way and challenged me at every step. I learned how to overcome new obstacles and simply keep on keeping on. Big thanks to Matt and the rest of team SheCodes for always being here to support us!
React Add-on was defiantly my favorite workshop yet. Building this dictionary project put all of the skills i've learned to the test. From integrating the API's to using basic CSS styling. Having the interactive mini-projects have allowed me to fully grasp each lesson and build from scratch.
