I came here with zero coding knowledge, I didn't know the coding language, and now I know what CSS, HTML, and JavaScript are. The lessons are straightforward, easy to understand, and follow through. Matt is an amazing teacher, he breaks down everything to its simplest core! I am so happy to have joined SheCodes and can't wait to move on to the next challenges!
Definitely the most challenging workshop yet but I surprised myself with how I was able to (eventually!) figure things out with some trial and error. Matt's a great teacher and I finally feel like I turned a corner with JavaScript thanks to his explanations.
I had taken a break from coding, but it is so refreshing to be back! I decided to start with the Basics Add-On to refresh my memory. Like always, the material is explained really well. Matt is a natural teacher and there are always practical examples, which make it very accessible to learn. It's such a great feeling to return to coding!

I enrolled in the SheCodes Web Development Basics course over a year ago, and after some procrastination, I finally completed it. Despite being a basic course, it taught me a lot, especially in terms of coding and testing a webpage simultaneously. The course structure is incredibly well-organized, making it the best online teaching experience I've encountered so far. Each component is followed by a challenge, which really helps reinforce what you've just learned. As a Computer Engineering student, I found the teacher to be exceptional at explaining concepts clearly, and I would highly recommend this course to anyone new to programming. It's a fantastic starting point for beginners. I also appreciated that the teacher shared some additional industry-relevant insights, even though they weren't part of the certificate level. This gives students a head start if they want to dive deeper into web development. Even though it covers just the basics, I thoroughly enjoyed the course and am excited to pursue higher-level certificates on the platform.

I am an Afghan girl who loves coding. When I found the "she codes" program, it changed my life. "she codes" taught me coding skills through classes and support from teachers. Before this, coding was very difficult for me. But the teachers at "she codes" helped me learn step-by-step. Now I have good coding skills and confidence to work in technology. "she codes" also connected me with other Afghan girls who love coding. This program has given me the chance to do what I love, even as a girl in Afghanistan. I am very grateful for "she codes" and all it has done for me.

This was a nice easy-to-follow course in bite-size pieces, with which you slowly but surely build up the different skills needed to put together a page at the end of each week. You then put everything that you have learnt in the course in a final project at the end, which is very satisfying. Matt is a good teacher too, nice voice with clear instructions and very encouraging.

The effort and pay off was incredibly satisfying and finishing the course with a working weather app was such a huge accomplishment. I was introduced to SheCodes by a friend, being 44 years of age I was a bit skeptical to apply for the fear that I wasn't going to understand or grasp anything but boy oh boy was I wrong! Even when browsing or using social pages I understand and appreciate the work that went behind the scenes to present such immaculate webpages and interaction pages!
I thought coding was not my cup of tea until I found SheCodes. Matt is a really great teacher and the lessons are easy to follow. Each week we have to do assignments which make it clear that we really get the point of each lessons.

At first it seemed a little intimidating as I have never done anything of this nature previously. However, the teacher/instructor made understanding the coursework a lot easier with how everything was explained as well as the examples that were provided. I really enjoyed working through the work.
At a glance, Python can seem intimidating, but once you learn to read and code Python, it's really beautiful and fun. Matt is an excellent teacher and communicator and has made the learning process less stressful. I love that I can see that I'm surrounded by other students, so I don't feel alone in the journey.

I found SheCodes in 2020, I didn't apply for it because I thought I would not like web development and I am pretty busy. Fast forward, to this year 2024, I chose to try it out, I applied for the SheCodes foundation and thanks be to God I got in! It is an honor to be part of this program, I fell in love with programming HTML, CSS, and JavaScript once again. I did code a little before but always gave up halfway. This is a good platform for everybody and I highly recommend it to everyone venturing out in web development.
