I did SheCodes Basics and I absolutely enjoyed completing the homework and the project. It is not hard at all and very easy to learn. I would 100% recommend this to everyone. I'm now looking into completing all the other courses including python and hopefully get into a tech related career as I've realised this is now my passion and something I genuinely enjoy.
Most of the video instructions in this workshop are beginner friendly and straightforward, and I got to learn about basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript with video lessons and homeworks in a short amount of time. Overall, it was an amazing experience to learn with SheCodes.
She codes plus was kind of hard, especially the homework challenges. Countless, sleepless hours of stressing over why the code isn't running. However, with the help of google, Youtube and of course the SheCodes team I was able to overcome those obstacles. Finding solutions for my error codes and debugging were so much fun, and watching my code finally run how it was supposed to, was even more delightful. It was an emotional rollercoaster but overall great experience, 10/10 would recommend

I've had issues with the platform they use for homework.
I've just completed the Python Basics course, which I liked but didn’t love. The instructional videos with Matt were definitely educational, and I learned a lot of theory. However, I felt the course lacked practical exercises, which I believe is the most important aspect of coding. Some videos included homework that took only a few minutes, while others had no practice at all. As an absolute beginner, I managed to get through the course by copying Matt (and leaning on AI), but I don’t feel confident applying these skills in the real world.
I liked that every lesson had homework for you to practice. It was easy to follow and wasn't too heavy for someone with a small concentration span. I also liked that the instructor encouraged us to do outside-class research and suggested which tools to use.

The SheCodes content is engaging and easy to follow, the learning format with challenges and homework is great to make sure you are understanding the content. It was very rewarding to see how I went from a complete beginner with no experience to someone who could do a simple page in just three weeks with the final project. I was just curious, if this is something for me, but now I know, I will continue. I am not the youngest anymore, however everthing was very easy to understand. I really like that I can choose my own speed, but I also like, that I had to complete the homework in a specific time range. For someone like me working in IT but not having a formal education, this is super helpful and I absolutely enjoyed it.
Shecodes is the best platform to learn coding. matt is the best teacher. I love how it is interactive and you have homework and project deadlines. if you can't finish you can ask for an extension. your work gets reviewed and you get feedback.

It was very interesting learning since this is my very first time of learning python consistently. Great explanations from Matt which was very practical in finishing the last project. Also several homework that have been given in almost every lesson were very helpful in keeping you in track with the deadline. Definitely will continue to the next workshop and dive deeper on the various resources.
This was challenging to say the least. But Matt does go over what you've previously learned or reviews what you should already know at this point. There's lots of new codes, tasks, and other fun stuff. I like the fact that there are many solutions to the challenges including the homework. It's an amazing course! This was a comprehensive and well-structured course, which provided a good foundation in various aspects of Python, including class attributes and methods, class logic, working with CSV files, data visualisation, data filtering as well as code organisation and documentation. I especially enjoyed the data visualisation part with Matplotlib and working with the CSV files. The course was a bit challenging towards the end, but the challenges and weekly homework helped a lot to check the progress and reinforce the content of the lessons. Unfortunately, the course was recorded a few years ago and hasn't been updated since, making it difficult to follow the steps and submit homework without asking questions on Slack about how to fix various problems.
This three weeks have taught me a lot about patients and attention to detail coding is very interesting to me i have enjoyed every moment of these lessons. Matt has made everything so clear to understand even the JavaScript was easy to follow which i was dreading as i didn't think i would be able to understand. Having homework and deadlines has really helped me stay on track. I only go up from here excited to be on my coding journey see you in the next chapter :)

The material perfectly structured for me: it was focused on syntax and major tools, dotted with some "best practice" and tips. In the challenges and homework, I especially liked that there was a bit of room for me to work a little harder and find or refine solutions on my own instead of simply repeating exactly what was shown to us. I learned so much without feeling pressured at all, and now I feel very encouraged to keep learning!
I have been interested in learning to code for years and have tried several other courses (free and paid), none of which I completed because they either presupposed coding experience and advanced way too fast for me to keep up or because there was no support or feedback on the code I wrote so I would abandon the course if I got stuck. Matt explains everything in bite-sized chunks so I never felt intimidated or overwhelmed. The weekly homework gave me a chance to practise and solidify my knowledge. His teaching style makes coding so fun and accessible, that I am already looking forward to the next workshop. Happy Coding indeed :)

This was a great intro to coding. It taught all the basics you need and provided an understanding of HTML and CSS through practical hands-on experience. I loved the intro to HTML and CSS. Doing the coursework and homework was also a lot of fun as well. They added a great challenge.

Very easy paced course. I was able to complete all the challenges, homeworks and project with ease. We also had the ability to extend some of our homeworks and assignment, which made it less stressful for us.
I'm so inflated with excitement right now. I have always thought things like coding are extremely difficult and have their own people, but through this programme I have learned that it's doable. It needs time and practice, but definitely doable. It's not all easy, some homeworks were quite challenging, but I am glad I took this on!!

I highly recommend SheCodes to anyone who want to learn coding. Matt makes learning so easy and fun. I had zero knowledge of coding and had always thought it was like rocket science. Through this basic training, I have found myself loving it and very easy to follow and apply when doing homework challenges and projects.
I successfully completed the Basics workshop and feel that I have a some knowledge about html, css, and java script. It is a relatively cost effective way to get introduced to coding. The course took much longer than the advertised 5 hours per week for absolute beginners. I am not an absolute beginner and the first week took me 12 hours. The instructor moves pretty fast and didn't stop to cover things that an absolute beginner would need to know. I know the deadlines are flexible, but since the course took much longer than advertised I had big breaks between weeks and had to go back and review the previous lesson before I could move on. The homeworks and final project expected me to complete things that had not been modeled by the instructor. I took advantage of the cheatsheets and google search. I learned, in part, because I like to solve problems.

Week 1 too me more time than expected so I was a bit worried whether I would finish the course in 3 weeks, but actually week 2 and 3 are less heavy, so all was fine!
Every time I finish a project, I feel more confident about my coding abilities. I used to think I would never get any better, but here I am getting better everyday and improving. I like that there is homework and they tell you if you did well or if you need to redo it. It gives you the chance to keep practicing. I also like that this project built on top of each other. Each week you learned a little and would apply it and by the end of the project, you're using what you have learned to build a final project.

I stumbled on this SheCodes course by chance. I'd been hearing about coding for a while then, and I had always felt curious about it. Since the online course allowed me to learn at one's own pace, I decided to give it a try. And I LOVED it! Despite my raging ADHD, I managed to finish the course a week in advance. The lessons were short and clear, and I found the challenges and homework enjoyable. Once I sat down in front of my PC, I couldn't stop working until I was satisfied with my progress. Being a short course, it obviously covered only the basics, but even so I feel like I learned a lot. I'm seriously thinking about buying the following courses now!
