Working on the dictionary app project, I quickly realized how challenging yet exciting coding can be. There were moments when things got tricky, but with every line of code, I saw my vision coming to life. I am very proud, this dictionary app is close to what I had imagined. SheCodes Basics is a very well organized workshop! It is easy to follow each lesson step-by-step, even without any previous programming knowledge/skills (which was my case). The SheCodes basics workshop was excellent! I had been debating a career change and was hesitant about diving in and spending a lot of time and money on something I wouldn't enjoy. The combination of short videos and homework assignments made coding easy to digest. Matt is an awesome instructor, he teaches each concept very clearly. The lessons are well structured. The mini challenges and the weekly projects really help in applying and better understanding the knowledge learnt from the lessons. Before SheCodes, I've tried other free code camps/coding websites but was always left frustrated as I couldn't understand what I was learning or what I was doing. However, the step-by-step (very hand-holding) approach by Matt and his team has restored my confidence and helped me successfully build a webpage. My advice for new beginners who are eager to create: follow the instructions before getting carried away and wanting to build your own hobby project. Trust me. This will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am truly grateful for SheCodes, Matt, and the SheCodes team. I feel like I found my calling, I absolutely enjoyed all the lessons and feel enlightened by all the things I have learned over the past couple of months. I cannot wait to see what is in store for my future now knowing how to code and create websites, and hope to continue to grow from here. My favorite part by far was learning CSS and creating the page I made about New York and being able to be creative with my portfolio project.
