I am a Computer Science student, recently became a Junior at DePaul University. My goal is to become a Software Engineer. I took this SheCodes course because I wanted to learn more about CSS, Html, and JS. The course went by pretty quickly but it was really easy to follow. Thank you to the teachers and peers!

Matt is a great teacher! It is easy to follow along with him because he helps you to understand why a particular code works best. After you turn in your work, you get to watch a video that explains a possible solution. The video also addresses common errors.

For a long time now I've had an interest in coding, saw an advert for SheCodes on LinkedIn and signed up on a whim. This was a great whistle stop tour of the basics and Matt is a great teacher. I really liked the bitesize learning and challenges along the way. A fun way to have learnt a new skill. Now I just need to practice!
WOW, this was challenging, but I made it!! 👩💻 Matt is a great teacher, yet I often wanted to give up because I couldn't figure it out myself, but thankfully the support team on slack was always there for us. Before starting this course, I did not have any knowledge about coding -though I was always so curious about it! I have just finished SheCodes Basics and WOW! Within 3 weeks, I've learnt plenty about HTML, CSS and JavaScript and built a basic web page from scratch! Learning to code can be challenging, however, it is indeed rewarding too. Remember that, to really learn this stuff, you need to immerse yourself in it. Keep practising! I highly encourage anyone new to coding to enrol in this workshop. Do not hesitate! I learned so much from the basic course. I have wanted for some time now to learn coding which I have tried different programs, and none of them worked. I felt like was watching step after step, not really doing or learning. When it came to SheCodes and Matt, I felt like I was actually learning and with a great teacher. When it did come time to do my project, I knew what to do or if I was not sure where to look for assistance. I cannot wait for the next SheCode course!

I hadn't imagined that I can code in such a short time! It was still a basic, but I'm so surprised that I can create simple page now. The choice I made to learn at Shecodes was definitely gave me confidence and motivation to learn codes more. Now I'm so curious about how the page was created every time I see them on the Internet. Matt is the great teacher and he taches us step by step, so you'll never feel like you want to quit learning. In addition, the fee was way cheaper than other online classes that I found in Japan, so I was really glad to know Shecodes! Thank you for the great experience!

I found SheCodes by chance, in a period where I needed a challenge! I started from zero, two weeks ago, I opened the first video and I was hooked :) Matt is a great teacher, the videos are clear and walk you through every step. I loved the fact that it's on-demand, having a very busy schedule it's helped me a lot. I hope to be able to enroll in the next workshops too, I really love coding now!!!
Great workshops and good teachers
I really enjoyed this class! I had absolutely zero coding experience, and I will say this class was a bit more challenging than I anticipated. If you are someone who needs a lot of repetition, like me, you may be spending more than 5 hours a week working on this class. Matt is a great teacher who makes coding easy to understand, and provides a great deal of resources for students. The slack chat with technical support is very helpful as well. I feel very excited to continue my journey in tech and have already recommended this class to several friends!
I love that it is all baby steps! As a complete beginner and newbie to coding, this allowed me to understand and perform something (coding) that I would have never been able to do! It is so empowering to be able to learn alongside other women and have a fantastic teacher, thanks Matt!!

It is impressive how much knowledge you gain during this course. Nowadays it is so important to be able to keep up with technological developments. With the responsive course you get the toolset to adjust to this fast paced world. This basics course exceeded my expectations on all fronts. Matt is a great teacher and the approachability of the material, community, support, and resources was key to my learning. It can feel a bit daunting to realize I do not learn as quickly as when I was in school full time, but I found things clicking along the way and making their way into my day to day vocabulary. I have shown my work to friends that have taken expensive courses and/or gone to university and they are impressed in how much I was able to retain and the incredible resources available to me. From curated cheatsheets, to color gradients, image hosting, videos I can play at any time and even SheCodes Radio(my favorite part!). Highly recommend more women empower themselves through code there are not enough of us!

As a Pilates teacher building my business during the pandemic, I found myself struggling to understand how to put my website together in a way that functioned not only for myself but also for my clients. I built a whole website to then find out that the main function I needed to run the core of the business was not a good fit. I got to know SheCodes from LinkedIn that so many people recommended. So, decided to join the free course first to see how it works. After free course with Matt, I enrolled the basic course directly. The best part of this workshop is not only the teachers are talking but also we have to do a lot of challenges by ourselves. And the students are helping each other. I even got some friends in the class. Now, finishing my basic course and i feel a bit sad. I'm so ready for the next. To be honest, the teachers voices are very important in online-courses because we can't see and read their lips. Matt use easy terms, clear voice and slow tones. Very easy to understand every words step by step.

SheCodes teaches you step by step everything you need to know about front end. Matt is a great teacher, he explains very clearly and makes it very easy for all the students.
It can be intimidating to begin coding when you have no background knowledge, but I found the setup of this class to be incredibly welcoming and helpful. It is truly flexible to fit into a busy schedule, while also encouraging you to really focus and learn! Matt is also a fun, motivating teacher in the videos. I've really enjoyed following the beginning of this course and can't wait for more!

I decided to do the SheCodes workshop at a very difficult time in my life... It may not have been the best decision to push myself so much while dealing with extreme life events... but that being said Matt is an AMAZING teacher and I am so glad I pushed myself and kept with the course, it was 150% worth it! I fell in love with coding through the Basics workshop and I am excited to continue learning. 🤩
