Coding was completely new to me and far outside of my comfort zone. When I started looking into learning the basics I found the amount of online advice overwhelming and a lot of the information difficult to understand for a complete beginner. This course broke it into practical and easy to understand steps and there was support available if you became stuck at any point. Would highly recommend!
I'm so excited to have finished the SheCodes Plus workshop! I can't believe how much I've learned. I'm so proud of myself for sticking with it, even when things got tough. I learned HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and I'm now confident that I can create my own websites and web applications. JavaScript was definitely the most challenging for me, but I was able to overcome it with the help of the SheCodes resources, especially Athena AI. My final project was a weather application that fetches live data from a weather API. It was a challenging project, but it was also so much fun! I learned so much about weather data and how to display it in a user-friendly way. I would highly recommend the SheCodes workshop to anyone who is interested in learning how to code. It's an amazing opportunity to learn from experienced instructors and to build a community of supportive women.

Very important moment happened during learning .There was challenge and when I started to looking for solution ,I just became numb.This happened for the first time to me ,sometimes I get angry that it doesn't work out, sometimes I'm glad when everything works as it should.And that time there was emptiness, no ideas where to start, NOTHING at all.I sat down at the computer for half a day, looked at it, got up and cried, so passed half of my day😅.Than I pull myself together, found words of support and here I continue my path further. I had an amazing experience creating my own React word dictionary app! Working with React allowed me to build a dynamic and responsive user interface, while integrating APIs for word definitions and image searches added a real-world functionality to my app. The step-by-step guidance and support I received while developing the app helped me gain a deeper understanding of React components, state management, and API requests. The most exciting part was seeing the app come to life with each new feature I added. From displaying word definitions and phonetics to fetching related images, every step was rewarding. I recently got hired for a new and exciting role in my school division (I am a teacher) as an Educational Technology Coordinator. A part of my role will also be working with computers and computer science, so I wanted to get a headstart this summer on improving my basic coding skills. From the first webinar, I knew that SheCodes would be a great program fit for me. You can go at your own pace, however, I found it really easy to complete the lessons and homework earlier than anticipated. The entire SheCodes Basics program was so easy to follow - I loved the lessons and Matt is a wonderful teacher who explains things. You can tell he is very passionate about coding and has so much knowledge to share. I learned many practical tips. The homework is challenging, however, with supports like the Slack channel and Athena AI, I had no issues. I've decided that after completing the Basics Program, I am definitely going to continue my SheCodes journey! I cannot wait to continue to learn and grow with this program.
