I am very glad that I followed SheCodes Plus with SheCodes Responsive because responsiveness was exactly what I struggled with most while building my weather app. Cannot wait to start learning React with SheCodes Pro!

I'm really happy with how I managed to finally get my own portfolio up online with this workshop! I think it's really worth the effort learning how to create a responsive website especially with all the different devices available to us now. Thanks again, Matt! Onto React now!

Coding was something I head at the back of my mind for some time now. About a year ago, when the pandemic started, I tried out a beginner Java course, but couldn't visualize things well or understand how they are being used in real projects. In SheCodes Plus I was able to immediately try things out and see them in the browser and everything started making more sense. My vanilla weather app looks very simple, but it's a great feeling to know I was able to get to this point. I feel there is a lot in front of me and I can't wait to start the React course.

I loved learning about the power React holds. The lessons are short but hold enough information for you to grasp a certain concept. I keep being amazed by how much I love coding, because Matt and his team know what is exciting about coding and know how to not overwhelm you with too much information about the subject at once!! I will definitely join new courses if they ever make any other!

SheCodes React was a challenging course, but it really gives you great exposure to the potential of this tool. Again, Matt did a good job at explaining everything step-by-step. Companies will definitely appreciate if you learn at least one JS library, and React has some intuitive parts that make it easier to use vs Vanilla JS.

I came into this program not knowing what to expect since I didn't know anything about how React was different. I was surprised to find how helpful React is in application building! It is a learning curve for sure. I was more frustrated throughout the lessons but once I got it to work it was so relieving! This course made me realize I do not want to be a full time developer, but it made me realize the possibilities. It gave me a new appreciation for those that are developers.

Initially, I wasn't sure about signing up to the React workshop but after finishing it I'm glad I did! I really enjoyed Matt's instructions and the help from the team on Slack. It wasn't easy learning this but there was a lightbulb moment midway when I FINALLY understood and now I don't think I would go back to basic JS. This was super fun to learn and I can't wait to start my own personal project in React!

I started off with Basics and now here I am in Plus preparing myself for React. I am so enthralled with coding and Matt gives such clear, concise instructions that it's hard not to feel like a professional programmer. Initially, I wanted to understand syntax a bit better. I was having a hard time with SQL + Python in my data science/analytics program and needed to step back to reevaluate my approach. Codecademy gave me a bit of insight as far as hands on, but there was no one there to explain it to me. So, I decided to give this a shot. I don't regret it at all. I absolutely love the workshops and highly recommend them.

I never thought I would build my own weather app. It was an incredible experience and I sure learned a lot from it. Looking forward to React workshop!

This is a great course which takes you through some complicated concepts to build two impressive applications. React is quite tricky but the explanations take you through step by step so it is never overwhelming.

I've had a great time working on SheCodes Plus! It's definitely much more challenging than the Basics workshop, but I've loved it and really enjoyed pushing myself. I've been learning coding on and off for the past year and it's only since joining SheCodes that I actually find myself engaged and really feeling like i'm getting it! I can't wait to do the React and Responsive courses next.

Matt Delac is very good at explaining complex concepts, and I can't wait to advance further with the React-class. I particularly appreciate that the workshops are based around specific projects, because it makes it easier understand how we can apply what we've learnt "in real life". It's been challenging, but so much fun! And, I highly recommend Shecodes.

I loved all the SheCodes courses that I took, although I definitely got more out of the Basics workshop and the Plus workshop than I did from the React workshop, and that is probably because it is a newer course. I highly recommend SheCodes for anyone who is unsure if coding is something they want to do. These workshops are fairly priced and give you great insight on what coding is all about!

I am currently a French teacher at two high schools in Tucson, AZ. I have been interested in learning how to code for some time, and now I can say I built a functional weather app! Taking the React add-on course was a good extension to the first React course. You build a dictionary app with React and you also fetch APIs so you can continue practicing the skills you learned in the previous React course.

If someone had told me a few years ago that I will be doing 4 frontend development online courses in a year with a World pandemic, I just wouldn't believe it. But the truth is: here am I, just finishing the last one. From having no coding experience a couple of months ago to now having completed this React workshop, I have more knowledge and experience in coding than I could have ever imagined having in this short amount of time. This is my third SheCodes workshop and I cannot say it has not been challenging, especially with a full time job. However, I have enjoyed React as much as the previous courses. Matt is an excellent teacher and the material of this course is extremely well presented. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to gain some new skills in some of the newest technologies on the scene. Cannot wait to start the next one !

This course along with the basic and plus courses make everything feel well rounded and complete. I would recommend taking this after those but before React if you plan on taking that; Responsive is a little more slow pace compared to React. The skills in this course are a must for web design and it was packed full of information, and so much fun!

After the Responsive bootcamp I feel much more comfortable coding websites for all devices out there. Looking forward to the React bootcamp now!

To start learning about coding was a personal (and professional) challenge. During these 8 weeks I actually had fund and learned a lot doing so. I would recommend the React workshop to anyone willing to learn advanced knowledge about coding! I work as a Technical Support Engineer and now, more than ever, I feel even more ready to apply the knowledge I acquired in my day to day tasks.

Before starting this workshop, building a React application seemed very daunting to me. With great examples and explanations from Matt, even this advanced workshop was made fairly easy to understand and execute. It is challenging at times but I was determined. I enjoyed working in React because I liked the structure of having components, however I found it challenging when you start having components inside components. It's easy to get confused at that point. Overall it's a perfect introduction to React. It should be noted that there is not much theory to this course so future SheCoders should definitely do some independent reading. But this gives you a good base to continue growth outside of Shecodes 😊

Another great course! I decided to use my final project to make an author website for my mum - it was amazing to be able to confidently work on a real-life project, and I had a lot of fun making the content adapt to different screen sizes. Looking forward to returning to JavaScript in SheCodes React!

I’m happy to share that I have finished my Weather App project for SheCodes Plus. Or it would be more appropriate to say ‘decided to stop with it for the moment’ xD Since the way I’ve been seeing it - it’s pretty more than I was expected to submit as homework. I tried my best to make it already responsive, though this topic will follow in next course only. And it’s firm 80% of what I wanted it to be, inclusive of: - themes and layers are changing based on weather conditions - clouds animation depends on wind speed - fonts react to day / night - the cities options are populated from Google API - basic settings of theme and units are available, along with GPS position saved due to localStorage - there are some pretty Bootstrap elements - I’ve picked up some funny pixel-style visuals for loaders and found exactly the same old-school games font I was looking for - and again… it’s already pretty responsive to different viewports. That was a challenge, especially the responsive part. And another opportunity to double confirm that knowing your target it’s already half way. Googling a right question it’s already half an answer. I haven’t figured out yet why there are issues with GPS on iPhones and some Bootstrap elements on certain iphones only, so let’s head to SheCodes Responsive and check whether there are the answers I need. (My precious) That little Ghibli tribute was done from the bottom of my heart. Thanks a lot to Matthieu Delac Aussaguel and SheCodes Team for providing the coding skeleton knowledge (and setting courses with deadlines). And big thanks to my main testers. My husband, in whose eyes I saw proud instead of irritation for me staring into monitor for hours. And my beloved friend and former colleague from Moscow - country is definitely not the limit.

SheCodes Plus was a challenging but instructive course, in which the knowledge gained on SheCodes Basic was deepened. It was a very enjoyable experience as well, and the staff was, as always, helpful and friendly. After this course, I became even more curious and motivated to learn React, which is my next goal.

React is definitely more challenging than I thought but having done both the weather and dictionary app gave me perspective on how to use it. I'm so happy I came back for SheCodes Plus! I've tried several other coding courses and was really struggling to understand JavaScript. This weather app is my second project with SheCodes. It's been quite an adventure for me. I started off strong, then I was ill for a couple of months, but I was happy to finally get back to finishing it. I struggled quite a bit, but I am so grateful for João's tremendous kindness and help - I couldn't have achieved my vision without him. I am so happy and proud of the result. I really hope to come back to this project and figure out how to get the page to load faster because that's the only thing that bothers me a bit. Aside from that, I have learned a lot! I created my own SVGs, which I can now say I will never do again, but I am happy for the experience :P I learned about APIs, hosting, GitHub, and obtained greater knowledge of JavaScript, which is not easy - I still have a lot to learn, but thanks to SheCodes I know a lot more than I did last year. I am now moving on to React and then Responsive. I am super excited! Thank you Matt, João, Julie, and Daniela! :D

React workshop was challenging at first but very interesting and I felt by the end of it like I'm managing well and feeling comfortable working with React :) it was nice to learn another coding frame work, and add another skill to my resume ! looking forward to my last workshop left - Responsive ! :)
