Had a bit of a rough start with this course but once I got a hang of it everyone seemed to flow. I'm ready to build my portfolio and build more projects with the things I've learned.
Overall, I enjoyed this course. Useful new techniques and concepts are taught in week one to improve the design and layout of our projects. I found week two a little repetitive, particularly if students decide to work on their own design. But, as always, the course content is clear, well organised and well explained. We are supported step-by-step through the process of building responsive sites.

SheCodes Basics add-on was an amazing addition to the Basics. As someone with no prior experience, I was initially intimidated by the idea of learning how to code. Completing the SheCodes Plus curriculum was an incredible learning experience for me. Throughout the course, I not only deepened my understanding of JavaScript and React, but I also had the opportunity to create a fully functional Weather App. This project challenged me to apply my skills in API integration, state management, and responsive design, all within the React framework. Seeing my Weather App come to life and being able to dynamically fetch and display weather data in real-time was such a rewarding accomplishment. The SheCodes program provided me with the guidance and support I needed to elevate my coding skills, and I now feel more confident in my journey as a developer.
Building an AI was the most exciting project I’ve worked on so far during my time with SheCodes. It pushed me to think creatively and apply the skills I’ve learned in new ways. The challenge of integrating different technologies and seeing it all come together was incredibly rewarding. It’s given me even more motivation to keep improving my coding skills and explore new possibilities in tech!

The Python Basics course was truly excellent! The AI-add-on course was transformative, offering practical and hands-on experience. It made AI integration easy to understand and apply, giving me the confidence to enhance my projects with AI.
I found the videos clear and easy to follow. I felt the design of the lessons was great for teaching you each piece, but also starting over to really solidify how all the pieces fit together. If you get stuck or are just looking to clarify anything, asking a question in Slack is easy and the responses are timely. The Weather App project was fun and depending on your comfort level, you are given the choice to simply show the current weather or make it more complex by also showing the forecast.
It was fun to learn even more cool properties of HTML, CSS and JS. Even though short, the course helped me to understand the flaws of my previous project, and taught me how to correct those and how to improve my code.
Like all other projects, this one challenged me, but I’m excited to share my experience creating a weather app that delivers real-time data with an intuitive search engine. Through this project, I learnt valuable skills in API integration, dynamic HTML manipulation, and user interface design. This weather application was built using React, and I enjoyed this workshop. I learned the basics of React and the value of components, which make my code more efficient and easier to manage using the single responsibility principle. I learned how to import and include components within each other, sending data (props) between them. I practiced extensively with passing properties between components to display data. I learned how to manage multiple files and worked with API integrations, effectively reading their response. I integrated two APIs in this project: one for the current weather and the second for the forecast. I practiced looping through arrays and focused on improving functions. Additionally, I learned how to read React error messages and make the necessary adjustments to debug my code.

I learned about the opportunity to study web development through a special aid program offered by the SheCodes foundation via the KuñaTech Instagram account, a Paraguayan organization where my compatriots aim to provide development opportunities for women in the tech field. I eagerly shared this great opportunity with other women, friends, and university classmates whom I deeply care for. Through scholarships, I am fortunate enough to have knowledge of English, which encouraged me to apply. Despite the demanding nature of my university studies, I managed to complete this first course with valuable knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which also helped me in a university subject, Software Engineering II. SheCodes classes are excellent; the videos are not too long, and the instructor explains very well. He explains concepts that can be complex in a very simple way, making them easier to understand. Additionally, his English is very clear, making it easy to follow his explanations. The deadline extensions were also a big help, as some weeks are busier than others, which sometimes made it difficult for me to focus on the course. On the other hand, I absolutely loved how everything is personalized for women, and the gender focus provided for the course has been a great source of motivation for me. Everything looks pretty and aesthetically pleasing. Another aspect I really enjoyed was learning by creating parts of a project and finishing the course by building my own project. The community is wonderful, and the tools SheCodes provides to its students are incredibly useful. I am very, very, very grateful for this amazing opportunity, and I am excited for the upcoming workshops ❤️😊
This short Ad-On course sharpened up the knowledge gained in SheCodes Plus. Some elements of JS are very hard but great to see how the project can be built without the utilization of API, and the introduction to Moments JS is great and powerful for future project development. As always, an amazing and well-structured course that elevates knowledge to the next level one step at a time.

After diving into web development, I managed to successfully integrate all the critical features: a responsive search engine, real-time API integration, accurate temperature, wind speed, weather description, humidity, and dynamic weather icons that update based on the current conditions. I learned a lot through the process, especially in working with APIs and managing error handling, which ensured a seamless user experience. I’m proud that the application is not only functional but also polished with a clean interface, responsive design, and great usability across devices. Weeks 1 to 3 of this workshop were great - we learnt a lot and there were many useful hints and techniques to save us time and make our projects look more attractive. However, weeks 4 and 5 were disappointing - none of the information was new, and the hours of videos were basically just watching Matt code an example project using techniques we had already been taught. I feel like this workshop could be cut to three or four weeks; by that point students should be well prepared to work autonomously (referring back to past videos if needed). I didn't want to skip any of the videos in the later weeks in case there was important new information, but it was just consolidation and repetition. Building a portfolio for our project was really useful, and it's great how things are broken down step by step, but each video could have just been way shorter. I'm still really looking forward to moving onto other SheCodes workshops, and I'm sure the content is going to get more challenging again.

I always thought learning AI would be incredibly difficult, but the workshop broke down complex ideas into manageable, easy-to-understand segments. It was actually fun to learn, and I feel much more confident in my ability to work with AI now.
