This one was difficult..But Matt's teaching style does not disappoint. After going through this course, slowly, and watching some lessons several times I'm feeling excited about managing to finish the final project, and that I actually have an understanding of react. Thank you!
SheCodes Foundation in a whole serves as a stepping stone to women who wants to join the tech industry, and might not know where to start-like myself. It offers comprehensive coding workshops. Through initiatives like SheCodes women are provided with knowledge and a skill set to work and inevitably thrive in a male dominating industry. Each challenge presented with these courses builds confidence and provides room for personal growth, fostering a sense of accomplishment when faced with complex technical tasks. I thoroughly enjoyed all the challenges and the freedom of creativity the projects give you.
Today, thanks to SheCodes Basics, I no longer see coding as an intimidating endeavor but rather as a creative outlet and a valuable skill set. Whether it's pursuing a career in web development or simply tinkering with side projects, I feel empowered to explore new opportunities in the tech industry.
It can be very frustrating trying to get the prompt and context right so that the AI responses with the information you want but this was such a fun project to complete. I appreciate that AI is growing and growing and will not stop so being able to understand things like this in the future will be very important.
This workshop was fun to learn. I created a recipe generator, that I will use when I get stuck for ideas in the kitchen. This example related to me more, as I am not crazy about poetry. At first, I was a bit intimidated to move away from Matt's example, thinking it would be more confusing to learn. I am excited that this was not the case. I found that it was easy to customise and encouraging to think of other AI projects I could create to streamline my everyday tasks!!
I'm hooked!! I've just completed the Basics Add-on course and have loved every minute. I've worked through CSS, understanding Backgrounds, how to make elements stand out using Transform and Grids and I'm now familiar in Class Manipulation too, using JavaScript to make changes to my HTML code. It's been a fun project to work through one of my hobbies and bring it to life through a landing page! Looking forward to progressing through the upcoming SheCodes courses.
The course was structured to make complex concepts easy to understand, and by the end, I had created my own dictionary project.
