I started SheCodes because I have been looking for a change in career. I graduated with my nursing degree in 2017 and have been working ever since. Needless to say, the last few years has been extremely difficult and quit my job due to burnout. I had been looking tirelessly for something new when I stumbled upon the SheCodes intro course. After these first few weeks doing the basic workshop, I finally feel excited and passionate about something again. Matt makes coding so approachable. I can't wait to start the next course!
I was originally going to take another computing course, but only came across an instagram ad and was like 'oh, let's just check them out and see'. Never did I know that I'd be joining the SheCodes Basics class 2-days later, I honestly learned so much during the 3 weeks. I'm not much a fan of online classes, but Matt explains things so well it's honestly so good being a part of this. It's so fun, the challenges and the weekly assignments are so useful and so fun, I love to learn new things--so, the challenges really help motivate this whole experience. Also, the idea of having Slack and getting involved with other students' questions, and giving help is honestly just great--a lot of other online classes don't have this sort of community where students are able to help one another. I can't wait to explore the other courses in the upcoming months!
SheCodes changed my life immensely! I worked really hard, and so did they. The agile structure of the Bootcamp, the way they actively tune in to the local community, and the knowledge, experience and care Matt and his team exhibited all worked toward making my Bootcamp experience a fantastic one for learning responsive web pages. The curriculum was laid out in a way that builds naturally into the next step. It's not rocket science, but even if it was, rocket science could be learned if someone takes the time to present the concepts to you in easily accessible pieces as SheCodes does for every workshop.
I am very grateful to Matt for giving me the opportunity to study here for free. I am from Ukraine and for me it was very valuable to study for free. Two weeks ago, I got a job as an intern at an American marketing company as a web/seo specialist. For me, this is a very big opportunity in 3 months I can get a full-time job as a web developer. This workshop was fantastic and I have learned many new knowledges. Fabulous, fun course, really enjoyed learning the basics! Would really recommend to anyone who has an interest but isn't sure. Matt is a great teacher, his instructions are clear and the videos solutions reinforce knowledge. This course has been pedagogically designed and considered so that learners really come away with a strong foundation to build from.
My only regret is not starting shecodes sooner! I found these workshops back in January but couldn't bring myself to take the plunge. At the end of August I finally decided to try. I wish I had started sooner! I feel excited everyday to learn something new. I can't wait to start the next workshop. Thank you Matt and shecodes!
This was my first time ever trying to code and Matt was a great instructor with straight forward and easy to follow lessons. I really enjoyed the course and had fun learning from it and from other students on Slack. This course was extra special because for the first time in months I felt like I was able to achieve something without feeling overwhelmed or discouraged and that meant a lot for me. I had a great time with SheCodes. All tasks were not very easy, but Matt made the coding clear. Also you have to pay attention to the details, it's really important and be self taught to learn some CSS rules, tags etc. It's not hard with Matt though. He shows the right way how to do it right.
It was a cool experience working on a weather website. It was quite a challenge, but thanks to Matt and the entire SheCodes team, I managed it. Even if you don't understand something, you can always ask the mentors in Slack and get a quick answer. It's a real treat when you see a website come to life thanks to the code. Thank you SheCodes for this fantastic experience.
SheCodes Basics was a nice intro to coding. Matts' teaching style is concise, and each challege was approachable and fun. I'm looking forward to learning more in SheCodes Plus!
It's been an amazing journey and I cannot wait to proceed to the next phase. Matt's teachings are very comprehendible with examples to help you along the way. The sheCodes team is also on standby to assist with every question. It's also amazing to see the coders assist each other however they can.

Loved SheCodes Basic! Short and straightforward videos with clear explanations and simple examples specifically designed training material for beginners and advanced students alike. Extra info with links at the bottom of each video where you can learn more. Who knew that it would be more difficult to decide on the colors you want to use for your final project than the coding part itself 😅. Good thing Matt has a solution for that too with SheCodes Color Palettes and CSS Gradients. Thank you Matt & SheCodes team!

Before joining SheCodes i was a little scared of Javascript as i have heard people say it was very tough. My instructor Matt turned that fear into confidence as he taught it in a way that it was very easy for me to understand. I had an amazing time during this SheCodes Basics and i can already code with confidence. I can't wait to see what the other packages have in store for me!

The lessons taught by Matt, were super clear and manageable. Having the slack team available for when we got stuck was so nice, and helped keep up morale and motivation toward learning more and having fun doing it. Outside of that the other SheCodes resources, such as the gradient and palette features, and shecodes radio rocked ! Most importantly, they were really understanding with timing; I needed extensions due to health concerns and power outages, and they made it really easy and stress-free to request more time. 10/10 would recommend.

After months of using other learning platforms, I found SheCodes to be the best platform available! Matt is an excellent teacher. I wanted to start this journey a long time ago and as starting is the most difficult part of every adventure , fear was eating my courage for breakfast every time I opened VS code. This time everything was different. I got a huge dose of knowledge, inspiration and a bunch of ideas how coding lets you paint your dreams in a digital reality... even if you're an opera singer who lives in an abstract world of her own fairytale... I'm definitely gonna continue this journey with the following courses !
Responsive workshop is really interesting, useful and challenging as well! Matt shows bunch of ways to realize this or that idea, and it is so valuable! So far making site responsive is my favorite part of tasks although before workshop I thought it is boring and exhausting. I am so happy that I was wrong!
I always wanted to learn coding, but never felt like I could because it looked so intimidating. I was on Instagram one day and saw an Ad for the SheCodes free Coding Class. This is the beginning of a journey and the end of the whole SheCodes Pro. Learning React was fun, engaging and hard at times. However, everything is possible when you have Matt encouraging you to follow growing in middle of your own struggle. Love everything I have learned so far and I plan to follow into this journey. SheCodes is the best platform to start your coding journey, and Matt is the best teacher. SheCodes made coding simple and fun and anybody can do this.
As with the first workshop, it was exciting and super challenging. The moment that perplexed me, was a program of Weeks 7-8, where Matt started to build the app from scratch, although at that point we had to build this on our own. Nevertheless, I understood that recollecting some material wasn't redundant at all. Moreover, it helped me to solve the problem of temperature conversion in the forecast day cards.
Learning Web Development with SheCodes has been so good! I've found writing HTML, CSS, and JS code to be captivating and fun. Matthew's teaching is clear and simple and the practical challenges helped me to put the teaching into action!
I still can't believe I've done my final project on the SheCodes Basic. My profession is not connected to IT at all. I thought I wouldn't ever be able even to understand coding. But Matthieu explaines everything so simply and easily so it motivates you to begin. It's so inetesting and exciting and challenging at the same time. With SheCodes you'll never get stuck, because all team is so helpfull. And definitely you'll never get bored. I'm so lucky to start my new life chapter with SheCodes.

I’ve got to say that I’m really impressed by SheCodes Plus content. Matt it’s a very good teacher and the staff on Slack it’s always available for you if needed. I’m a criminal law Ph.D. candidate using my “free” time (and brain) to do the courses. It’s not easy to manage everything together, but it’s doable. You’ll need to dedicate yourself to it, maybe more than 5h a week, and practice as much as you can, trying new things inside your challenges and homework. The course will give you a full understanding of how to work with JS and put your code online, the rest it’s up to you. Practicing and exploring is crucial, especially if you want to pursue a development career. SheCodes it’s a very good first step into it!
This was an amazing workshop and such a thrill to be a part of! It is easy to follow along and Matt did an amazing job at explaining everything, whether you have coded before or not you step away with a ton of useful knowledge and resources. This is a wonderful platform to give women across the world the knowledge and opportunity to obtain coding skills and have fun with it!

I found this to be the most helpful SheCodes workshop in the curriculum! React is quickly being adopted across industries - there is a definite need for these skills. I felt Matt went through the course well and having two projects made it much easier to see how React can be applied. The technical assistants responded quickly to questions in Slack and were very knowledgeable - helping me through any issues along the way. I also learned real world skills to be able to troubleshoot issues with my code.

The workshop was great, but I wish we got to learn more. The third week wasn't anything new - just a quick summary of what we learned in weeks one and two. I feel like that time could have been used better. Otherwise, the workshop was fun and Matt is a good teacher.

SheCodes Plus was more enjoyable than SheCodes Basic. You feel accomplished after finishing all the workshops! Matt's videos are easy to follow for beginners.
I've always wanted to learn more about coding but, wrongly, I thought it was closely linked to math and that was enough to scare me off. I've attended to a workshop months ago held by my my employer, where there was this girl talking about how exciting the life of a Front End developer is and that she learned it from scratch, highlighting that no math's involved in the process. I then came across SheCodes and a huge THANK YOU is due. Matt is a great instructor, thanks for your effort and your revolutionary project and thank you for letting me aware that is never too late! Coding is fun, is a creative process and even when you get stuck, is worth the struggle :)
SheCodes is the best project to start in IT. Here you not only learn, you also create your own projects. An excellent teacher Matt Delac and an excellent team SheCodes will always support you! Also, students have the opportunity to communicate with each other, find mistakes together and correct them. Your project inspires and gives wings!

It was definitely a brain tester but overall it was an amazing experience. It took me a bit longer than usual but I am glad to have taken my time and to have the help of SheCodes and other students help me along the way. I would highly recommend SheCodes to learn anything about coding. I got to know SheCodes through a friend, Sandra, who shared her enthusiasm for the course.
