I've just finished SheCodes Basics and have learned so much in a short amount of time. Matt is a great teacher and does a good job at simplifying the more complex topics. I'm in a computer programming certificate program at a local university, but feel that I've learned more in just three weeks participating in SheCodes than I have in most of my university courses so far. With the SheCodes workshops, I truly believe ANYONE can not only learn to code, but can excel in the CS field.

I would highly recommend SheCodes to anybody who would like to learn how to code, especially if you don't have any previous experience(s) with coding! I studied something completely different in Uni, but wanted to be able to transfer the passion that I have for creativity in my free time (in the future) into my 9-5 as well. I also wanted something that would continue to challenge my brain on a daily basis. After some internet searches I came across SheCodes and decided to take the free intro-to-coding class from Matt. I was hesitant at first since I had no prior experience to coding, but as soon as Matt said that you don't need prior experience and that anyone can learn how to code, I decided that it was worth giving it a try. It did not disappoint! I'm so happy that I followed the Basics course; I learned so much in 3 weeks and Matt's explanation videos were pretty easy to follow and also very helpful. At times it can get a bit frustrating when there are mistakes in your code that you're struggling to find and correct, but fear not! By retracing your steps or asking for help on Slack you will eventually figure it out and it will all be worth it! I'm exited to continue learning and can't wait to sign up for SheCodes Plus. 10/10

I tried out SheCodes because I wanted to get a taste for the subject of coding and see if I liked it without spending big amounts of money to go to a university. I honestly didn't believe I could make it to the end of this course because React is not as easy as it has been so far. But once again Matt proved that anyone can do it! Throughout the course I felt that I was accompanied and that little by little I got there! and guess what? I got it!
I am on a path toward learning UX Design, but was too interested in the coding aspect of tech AND the ethics and structure of this particular workshop! I gave it a go after a lot of thought, and while I've "only" learned the basics, I am ending the workshop feeling accomplished and open to learning much more, especially from SheCodes, but self-learning must be continued after this!! I planned to start SheCodes Max as soon as possible because I have a lot of faith that it will teach me valuable hard skills for development, but considering I am pursuing UX, I'll be holding off on Max to focus on UX Design specifically. However, thanks to Matt's great communication, I have assurance that I will be able to afford Max with the discount that was offered, when I am ready to take it on.
Passed the next stage of training in SheCodes. Needless to say, it was not very easy. It was a real challenge for me. In addition to learning to code, I improve my level of English). It's good that Matt did not cut out his mistakes in the training video, but left options for correcting them in the video lessons. It added life into the video, made learning easier. It's great that there is freedom of choice, creativity, there are no certain limits. Thanks again for the opportunity to learn!

My first 3 weeks with SheCodes has been quite the ride, I was very new to the world of coding with very little experience and there was a lot of information that I had learn and it was overwhelming, but I feel as though there is room for me to get better at this craft as long as I push myself harder. Matt was a great instructor, he was able to make me understand everything better and I am proud of my first project.

I was recently at a point in my life of not having a clue what to do next. Having no real academic qualifications but plenty of knowledge and experience in many fields, I realised that the technological world is one I'm not great with, yet know it is essential for the future. SheCodes basics was a freshening reminder of the little coding knowledge I had. The way Matt explains things so directly and understandably, with technical but also, very understandable and non-technical explanations, just eased this right in for me. I had a bit of a harder time because of the little time I had to work on this, but as the course progressed, my passion for each challenge and homework increased, until I decided to be creative and have fun with my project as well. It was a challenge, trying to figure out how to exactly turn my idea to life, and I was able to! :) The help of all the tutors, the guide of Matt, and the realization that this is something I want to do from now on led me here, and I wouldn't change it for a thing. I have always wanted to do something in IT, but didn't know what until I came across SheCodes! I have really enjoyed learning to code. I signed up to SheCodes so that I could expand my knowledge on a brand new skill to me. Recently, I have realised that I was no longer learning anything new within my retail job so I decided to take on the challenge of coding and so far I am really enjoying it! I was skeptical as to whether I would understand anything but so far, I am impressed with how much I have learnt. Thanks to the in depth lessons provided by Matt, I have made a silly, but functioning page which I am pretty pleased about.
This course has been a real journey! It was a challenge at parts but Matts way of teaching really helped me to understand everything. The course content is great and contains a lot of topics and useful information that you can take into a career with coding. Ladies and non-binary folks, if you're looking to get your feet wet in the world of coding, SheCodes is where it's at! I recently completed their Basics course, and had such a great time that I decided to level up and try out their SheCodes Plus program. Let me tell you, some of those later sections were a real brain-bender, but the experience was totally worth it. If you're a newbie to coding, I'd definitely recommend practicing your JavaScript skills and dabbling with APIs a bit before diving in. But with a little bit of elbow grease and a lot of patience, you'll be coding up a storm in no time. A huge shoutout to Matt and the whole SheCodes team for putting together such a fantastic program - you guys rock!
