I decided to join SheCodes after seeing a video on Instagram. I had just graduated with a graphic design degree but was struggling to find work. I looked at SheCodes as being an opportunity to expand what little knowledge I already held of HTML / CSS. I absolutely loved the basics course. Matt does a wonderful job explaining the lesson in a way that actually stuck.

Learning with SheCodes is challenging, empowering, and fun! The Basics Add On course has cemented the fundamental skills I learnt in Basics and I feel ready to further my learning. I recently completed the SheCodes Basic Training, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From start to finish, this course exceeded my expectations in every way. SheCodes is an incredibly accessible way for women around the world to learn how to code. The lessons are easy to follow and move at a good pace. The projects are not only interesting, but also have real life value as examples of what you can do for potential employers. I appreciate that Matt always encourages us to have fun and to take breaks when we get frustrated - it's a healthy attitude that helps prevent me from getting overwhelmed. When I was a teacher, I learned that the most valuable thing we can teach our students is the ability to learn. Teaching people how to learn, problem solve, and figure things out on their own is incredibly empowering. SheCodes does that for you. While it's not always the most fun as a student (😅), being put in situations where you have to apply previous knowledge to figure out a new puzzle is a great exercise for learning. You'll often find yourself in positions like that during your lessons, but you become all the more stronger for it.

I was able to do some exciting things in Apps Script and play around, but it wasn't until I found SheCodes that my learning experience started to take shape. I was looking for a career change and I was interested in web development. However, I had no prior experience or formal education in coding. I was looking for a course that would teach me the fundamentals of web development and help me build a portfolio of projects. The perpetual isolation of the lockdown was depressing but it gave me the chance to reflect on my life. This is when I realized I was unhappy with my job and it was time to explore other avenues. During this time is when I also discovered Tik Tok. The "tech girlies" were showcasing their luxurious lives afforded by the benefits their entitled to for working in tech. I decided I too wanted a piece of the tech pie and it was time for me to search for a way in. After researching various coding programs, I came across SheCodes. The reviews were good and I loved that the program was self paced and geared towards women. I enrolled in the Basics program and I thoroughly enjoyed Matt's style of teaching as well as the various resources available. I recommend anyone that is considering SheCodes to go ahead and enroll. You will not be disappointed.

Definitely gets more "intense"/complicated compared to the previous workshop but that is expected. Self paced, and able to speed up or slow down based on your week. I really enjoy Matt Delacs teaching technique. You feel like you are playing a game, where you WANT to learn, compared to learning at a lecture in college where you zone in and out. AKA it is highly enjoyable and easy to understand.
As always, some very complicated subjects, topics, and ideas were made super simple by Matt's fantastic way of explaining things, plus everything was broken down into bite-sized pieces. I cannot recommend it enough! 💖👩💻

I have been a nurse for last 20 years. Due to my medical condition its getting to difficult for me to work and do what I loved. So I stumbled upon the 60mts session my Matt which came across as very comprehensive, interesting and very easy to follow along which made me to join the Basic course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and looked forward to solve each challenge or homework. Hopefully I would continue this journey to achieve my goals.
