I am truly happy to have decided to apply for this course. In just 3 weeks I was able to learn so much and in such a fun and interesting way, not boring at all! 😄 In every video lesson, Matt explains everything in a very simple and efficient way and the challenges that he gives in each lesson are so worthy because you only learn by doing and you learn even more when things don’t work and you have to find by yourself what was wrong, knowing that you also can ask for help anytime you want. I am very proud of my final project, it was so fulfilling to be able to build from scratch a project related to something you love. 🐶 I am looking forward to continuing my experience with SheCodes Plus! 👩🏼💻➕
All 3 SheCodes' courses gave me the knowledge and tools to go ahead and finally learn how to code using everyday mark-up languages plus React which is currently an industry favorite! I am continuing my journey using the documentation that I can look at for as long as I need and continuing to code on my own. I feel confident that I can start applying for junior web developer positions with the idea that I can learn on the job with the tools I was taught by Matt and team!
This workshop was definitely a step-up from the introductory one before. It was a gruelling 6 weeks but as usual, Matt was very thorough in his explanation as he coaches us step-by-step in the process of creating our own weather application. João is a life saver as he is always there on Slack to help us whenever problems arises. He is always super patient and very in-depth in his explanations. I find myself learning a lot more outside of class through my conversations with him. Definitely recommend this workshop to anyone who wants to progress further into the areas of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Due to the Coronavirus situation I had enough time to think how I would like to spend my time. Searching for coding courses my attention was captivated by a course for women. I said I should give it a try. So, I graduated the first course "Introduction to coding"(where I learnt the basic of HTML, CSS, Java Script) and it seemed to arouse my curiosity more. And now, I just finished #SheCodes Plus, 8 weeks of great experience, of learning new technologies (API, Github, Hosting, Bootstrap) and meeting so many smart women. Had so much fun completing SheCodes Plus - it really pushed me to build on the lessons Matt provides and make use of other online resources to build both a page that fitted the brief and expressed my creativity! Can't wait to build on this knowledge with SheCodes React!
It may have taken me 3 weeks and two days to complete the SheCodes Workshop, but this experience has taught me an insurmountable amount about tackling my fears! Each lesson pushed my knowledge in code just the right amount, to where I could then knock out the challenges bit by bit. I attribute my success as well to, Lexi D., and other members of the SheCodes.io Slack community, and especially because I was experiencing setbacks coming from a place of doubt as I reached the half-way point of the course. But, the fast responses to my inquiries as to why it was that my code wasn't working, quickly got me back into tempo, (hence the additional two days), and eventually having the confidence to face the dysfunctional coding mishaps on my behalf. After viewing their online commercial, I was a bit hesitant at first to consider spending the $99 that course would cost, however after the free live-session workshop which I joined, this solidified my stance once and for all to overcome my fears and learn how to code! It truly is amazing to see that after three years following my initial attempt to complete an HTML course, SheCodes Workshop not only aided in my knowledge base of HTML, but provided me with a solid understanding of Javascript, and CSS basics, and most of all, a motivating community--which overall factored into my successful completion of the workshop course. My advice for anyone considering to opt for SheCodes is that, realize it's a worthwhile investment that lasts a lifetime. The skills learned in this workshop shows a glimpse of an individual's forbearance, needed to succeed in life's challenges, no matter how daunting they seem to be at first.
It's not easy to work a full-time job and learn a new skill, but Shecodes really helped me understand a little bit of the world of coding in the most simple way they could teach! I own a big thanks to Matt for the awesome classes, easy to follow along, and to Lexi, for the big support and understanding!

With an easy to follow curriculum and a take it step-by-step instructor like Matt, learning how to code was made fun and easy with constant support via slack. With constant support from others in the course and instructors, this workshop has really opened my eyes to insane possibilities as a developer. SheCodes was a great introductory workshop! I am attending University of Washington's coding bootcamp in the Fall, and wanted to take a prep course - and this workshop made me feel super confident because I have the basics down :) Matt is also an amazing instructor, he goes into details on WHY and HOW and not just "here's the code". Matt explains the process of building code in a clearly and the challenges provided, unlike a lot of courses I've tried, really require that you think through what to do rather than copying exactly what the video said.

I would definitely recommend SheCodes to anyone and everyone! I came into this with no prior knowledge of coding and was terrified that I would not be able to pick it up. Coding was something I never thought I would really enjoy. But when I took a python class in high school and started getting interested in coding. I decided to try the SheCodes course because I really wanted to learn how websites are made and I am really glad I did. This course gave me the necessary skills to be able to create my own blog in the future which I definitely will. I highly recommend the course to anyone who is a beginner or has even the most basic knowledge in the field of coding (like myself). I learned a lot from this workshop. There was a lot of support for when one gets stuck, and Matt's videos were easy to follow. I liked that they were short and got straight to the point. I have always been intimidated by coding, as it seemed like such a complicated thing to understand. However, from this workshop I realized I am capable of grasping new concepts around this subject and it has encouraged me to take it forward and learn some more. This was a great introduction to coding, I am happy I followed it up after seeing that ad.
I came across SheCodes through a youtube advert and it was perfecting timing because I was curious to see what coding was all about. I attended Matt's free intro webinar and I was really amazed by how much coding is used on the internet! I was quite hesitant to book a beginner's course because I didn't know if I would finish it but I don't regret it. SheCodes makes learning to code fun and enjoyable. I have throughly enjoyed the 3 week introductory course! :) I came into SheCodes not knowing a single thing about coding and in a short amount of time I have learnt so much. I am now looking forward to continuing on with SheCodes React! I am really pleased with the structure and learning style of SheCodes, Matt is a great teacher and provides clear videos that make learning enjoyable. We always have the opportunity to put what we have learnt into practice by completing mini exercises and homework submissions. The communication is really clear throughout the course, if you ever get stuck we can raise questions on a shared Slack group where students can help each other out but there is a also a hands on team ready to help too!

SheCodes Plus was a great next step for learning how to code in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The weekly challenges and homework were not easy but were broken down into digestible pieces, and I was able to successfully complete the workshop during weekends and after work. Matt provides really clear and concise recorded lessons with follow-up videos to walk you through each challenge and assignment's recommended solution. If more guidance is ever needed, additional help is always available over Slack. I do not have a math or programming background, yet I was able to grasp the concepts and after completing the weather app project, I feel more confident in my understanding and ability to read and create code to build useful applications. I recommend the SheCodes Plus workshop to anyone who has completed the 3-week introduction workshop, and wants to learn more!

The course is very well paced and Matt is a great instructor. Learning react is challenging but also very fun once you start getting the hang of it. You can always re watch the lessons if you didn't understand something and ask for help if you get stuck. This course is perfect for React beginners and I definitely recomment taking it if you like coding.
SheCodes React was super! As always, Matt breaks everything down so it's easy to digest. He takes you step by step and helps you create a cool, portfolio-ready project. The only thing I wish is that this course was longer so we could cover more. Would recommend!

He provides solutions and resources so that you can code successfully. Learning to code never crossed my mind, but now that I have started, I see how easy and fun it can be. SheCodes was an awesome experience. After the SheCode weekend I got the code bug and wanted to learn more about it and more techniques. SheCodes Plus was the way to go, the classes are easy to follow, and you can watch them and work on your project in your own pace, which is great. Matt has the ability of explaining something complicated in the easiest way and has an incredible team working with him to ensure that every student feels welcomed and get help if necessary. It was a great experience, really fit people with no coding background at all.

I began this workshop because I wanted to see if I could actually understand it and like it. I had no idea what coding even was. I had heard about JavaScript and HTML but never knew exactly what they were. I was so nervous thinking "Well there goes my money down the drain. I'm not going to understand any of this." First week went so smoothly. Even my husband who knows a bit about coding was impressed how quick I understood how HTML and CSS worked. I caught on quick. Now JavaScript I struggled with it but after going back to the lesson and re-watching the videos and playing around with it, it finally clicked. The way that Matt taught was so easy to understand. I will definitely be doing the SheCodes Plus React! I enjoyed it so much that now I'm thinking about a career change. Thank you!

I enjoyed this workshop so much! For once, I finished a coding course online, UNDERSTOOD the material, and thoroughly enjoyed what I was learning. Matt has done an excellent job of combining different learning styles into his workshop lessons by utilizing lecture, demonstration, and visuals. He keeps the lessons short and to the point (anywhere from two to 12 minutes per video), giving you just what you need to get started and complete the challenges, but also keeps you curious to research more. All the resources you need (code cheat sheets, color palettes, professional documentation, etc.) are made available to you and the Slack support is fantastic and quick to respond if you get stuck. After you have submitted your challenges, you can immediately view the suggested solution (he reminds us there isn’t just one way of doing things 😊) to review against your own submission. His site is also very user-friendly, easy-to-navigate, and the courses and material are well-structured, so you don’t get so overwhelmed with the material. Best part, even though there are weekly deadlines, you can work through the week’s lessons at your own pace. The 3 Week Workshop is worth it if you are the slightest bit interested in coding at all!

Great guidance from Matt and João. The video's are very clear and Matt's explanations are very easy to follow. Also the fact that you are in a community of Shecoders makes it a lot of fun, you are not alone! A great course to start your coding journey. Looking forward to start the advanced courses!
For the past two years, I've been unable to get past learning HTML. I thought it was me but I surprised myself by remaining consistent. Matt & SheCodes turned me into a success story within 3 weeks. I can't wait to move onto SheCodes Plus React. Yup...I'm going for the GOLD :)
I had so much fun during the SheCodes Plus course. I used all the tools to me available, like the 24hr help. This time around I had several questions and I got help straight away. I also like that I got to be part of a community of students doing the same as me. Thank you to Matt, Joao and Lexi for all your help. Can't wait to start the React course*
I enjoyed learning how to add extensions on VSCode. All the tricks Matt had were cool. I used Codecademy before and I did not feel like I learned how to combine HTML CSS and Javascript. Highly recommend!
The 3 week SheCodes workshop was such a great experience! I was nervous but excited to enter the world of coding, but Matt and the team made learning each new exercise easy to follow and less overwhelming with such great support. I've already recommended the workshop to several friends.
I really loved this workshop and the way Matt teaches. I started learning code earlier, but I never understood why I have to do things the way I have to do them. Matt explains everything very clearly so you understand the background of why things work the way they do. I love the fact that the videos are really short and you always get an exercise to submit. Trying things out for yourself definitely helps to remember things better. I was so motivated that I finished all the videos and assignments in less than a week. After that I had enough time for my final project and to try out new things.
This class was a solid entry-level course, but I would have preferred much more feedback and any actual interaction between student and instructor. I am also struck by the irony of creating a program to decrease the gender gap in computer programming that's taught entirely by some guy named Matt.
I thoroughly enjoyed the structure this coding workshop provided. Matt is very inspiring and helped me to see how html, css and javascript work individually and also how they come together. I feel more confident in myself and intend to enroll in SheCodes Plus next week! Try SheCodes! Great value for an even greater skill!
This class definitely exceeded my expectations in the best possible way. I started this class in lockdown and then suddenly got pushed back into work and had to find a new balance. I'm not gonna lie, the work is a lot especially if you're a noob like me..but if you have the time, you do your research and your homework you can get it done. I work full-time, care for an essential worker, and still find the time to put the work in. Simply put, if you want something done you will make it happen. Period. Matt does a greater job in covering material in the weekly work-course and taking notes never hurt nobody! Shout-outs to Lexi in customer service and Capitan tutor Joao Lopez for their patience and assistance throughout this journey. I will be unable to finish the series but that is only because I have classes at GVSU in the fall, otherwise, I would take this class all the way. Thank you SheCodes!
I am an accountant and graduate student by day and a newbie coder by night. My journey started a few weeks ago when a colleague challenged me to learn how to code. Up until that day I had always perceived the goal as too difficult and unobtainable for me, but that all changed when I stumbled upon a SheCodes advertisement on Instagram. Thank goodness I did because before that I had researched online and felt overwhelmed by the thousands of programs that can range anywhere from $99 to over $15,000. I took the free 60-minute webinar first and immediately was pulled in by Matt Delac's teaching style, the format of the course and how easy it was to follow along. The first week I felt just a tad bit intimidated, but each lesson really takes you step by step and I can tell that I have begun to absorb the information. It's exciting to wake up in the morning and feel eager to learn something new. This class is perfect for anyone with little to no background of coding like myself and also provides an amazing opportunity to network with like-minded women who are also looking for a challenge. I give SheCodes, 10 out of 10 and I cannot wait to start the next workshop, SheCodes Plus React. I went as far as starting a GoFundMe to get the cash to be able to take the next course. I've never felt more motivated!
I didn't think I could ever learn to code, but this workshop taught me in a very pleasant way! Lessons are packed with information, but still super clear, brief, and easy to follow, everything flows so smoothly. Even if you get lost, you receive help and support immediately. I believe that if schools educated us the way Matt does, many students would be much happier with the system.
I knew very little about coding before taking this course but I was surprised at how accessible Matt made it. If you are interested in coding but are intimidated by it, I highly recommend this course! You cover a lot in 3 weeks, but the exercises really help cement what's covered in the lessons. This course gave me the confidence to know that I can do this, and if I can, you can!
I have completed different online courses and have to say that SheCodes is one of the best in terms of providing us with a great community and supporting everybody on their journey. Even though the course is quite demanding, it is still possible to finish it while working full-time. Especially since one can decide when they can study. I highly recommend Matt and his team. When I first started I knew nothing about coding and I had no idea where to start. SheCodes is an amazing course for beginners, whatever your background is. Matt is a great teacher, the videos are very explanatory and you have a lot of support along the way. This journey has been really empowering, I can't wait to learn more. I highly recommend SheCodes!
