I've always wanted to learn to code and with SheCodes, I have! Just a few weeks ago it was a dream, and now it is my life ❤ The workshops and courses are divided and organized into small manageable lessons that anyone can learn from. I had so much fun! The resources and community here are so welcoming, supportive and encouraging! I always had help and got answers to my questions and never felt like my questions were "stupid". I have learned so much and look forward to the next step, with SheCodes Plus! I appreciate the instructor, Matt Delac, for creating such a great tool for women to advance themselves in this field. I am proud that when someone asks my friends what I do - they can say "she codes".
I took a BIG FAT chance, by seeing an AD somewhere and jumped right into Shecodes because I loved what Shecodes stood for. I'm someone with limited experience and brand new to the field. Just to finally complete the final project and understand the language of coding has been SUPER rewarding for me. The structure of the class didn't always make sense in the beginning, but TRUST the process and the guidance. By the way, Matt's voice is sooooo soothing and easy to follow that I was constantly re-playing his videos without losing focus.
I enjoyed every section of SheCodes. Matt is good at explaining every process and the SheCodes team is very helpful with the challenges and assignments. I learned a lot and I look forward to learning more about coding, specifically CSS & JS.

I have no words to describe how SheCodes made me learn something completely new and from scratch since April. My first SheCodes Workshop was supposed to be in Porto (4-5th April) instead it was a full weekend online and it was awesome! Even far away i felt connected. I wish we could have been together, get to know each other. @Matt, when this is all over lets do a big reunion with live music :) These workshops are time well spent really, always a challenge :) Thanks to all the SheCodes Team for the support! Overall, it's been a fun coding experience! The lessons are well balanced with clear instructions and practical self-learning excercises. I've always seen coding as something difficult and mainly for people who are tech-and-maths lovers. I've improved my coding skills beyond my wildest dreams! Even though parts of the course have been quite difficult, the weeks have really flown by. The support provided by the SheCodes team (Matt, João & Lexi) has been awesome and there's always a friendly helper to lend a hand. I'm so glad I decided to take the plunge and deep-sea dive into the unknown world of coding, as It's opened my eyes to potential career opportunities for the future.
I had never been interested in coding before, but after having attended and completed this first workshop I really feel I would love to learn more. The course is well structured, tailor-made to suit newbies, and easy to fit in a busy schedule. It was also very rewarding to see exercise by exercise how much I was learning. I will definitely be enrolling in another SheCode workshop in the future. In the meanwhile, as Matt says, Happy Coding Everyone!
I have had so much fun learning the basics of coding in this course! Matt and his team have developed a well-structured course that is easy to follow. My favourite parts are the little challenges that are very satisfying to complete and a really fun way to test the knowledge taught! 10/10 would recommend this for beginners wanting to learn to code (properly) but in a fun and supportive way.
It was awesome learning about coding ! I highly recommend it ! Matt is amazingly great at teaching and the assistents are always around to help you promptly ! I´d like to take further courses to improve my knowledgement and to be able to manage my own website or even to take a new career at sight !
Amazing workshop! Matt is an excellent teacher and this was exactly what I was looking for: a combination of hands-on exercises and easy-to-understand teaching. The 3-week course is the perfect introduction to coding. I am a UX designer by trade, so this was a great start to my journey of implementing my own designs. I would absolutely recommend to anyone in design.
SheCodes has been awesome! The classes are broken into really easy to digest sections which make it easy to learn a bit at a time but also consolidate your learning with challenges and homework at the end of the week. It was also super beginner friendly for someone with no coding background as well - Matt does a great job of explaining everything without using too much jargon or technical language.

SheCodes Workshop was an AWESOME experience. I had been curious about getting into coding, and after I took the free coding class I was hooked in, so I signed up for the workshop. Matt's instruction is very clear and direct, and each lesson is packed with information. I've already been able to implement some of my new knowledge in my job. To anyone interested in getting started with coding, do it!

I've always been fascinated by coding, but I never really thought I could have learned anything about it. After the SheCodes free workshop though I decided to give it a try, and I can now say that SheCodes was the best learning experience I've ever had. This was my very first experience with coding. Being a nurse, my career couldn't be more far away from coding. However, Matt makes coding look very easy and intuitive. I had no previous knowledge of code at all but it's always been something I would love to learn so I was nervous going in but SheCodes is absolutely incredible! Matt explains everything so clearly step by step while allowing you to be creative when completing your own projects. So happy I found SheCodes I can't wait to learn more!
I have taken MOOCs from Udemy and StackSkills. They had exercises but they were not creatively engaging enough for me to want to return back for the lessons. Previously, I would take those lessons and build other sites from scratch, but no courses compared to Matt. I walked in with no knowledge about HTML/CSS and Javascript and now I have better retention on HTML/CSS elements. SheCodes' Slack channels is a wonderful resource where students can ask questions and receive help in reviewing code. I am definitely going to come back for the advanced workshops! I have completed a few courses recently and I believe SheCodes has the best set up I've seen. The online community on Slack is friendly, helpful, inclusive and you can find all the help you need if you get stuck on the tasks. SheCodes has found the perfect balance between providing support and giving the users flexibility to complete the course in their own time. Matt's videos are clear and easy to follow! I'm really enjoying the course and I am signing up for the React Plus as I want to keep learning. I also really love seeing everyones final projects!

The "classes" were broken down in to small, digestible segments. That worked well for me. It was completely hands-on, which is the perfect way to learn this type of material. Matt's enthusiasm was contagious. I did end up having fun writing code. At first I didn't like being assigned a task that wasn't covered. But that was an important part of the experience. For the final project, I was comfortable searching for answers to my questions on-line. Thank's SheCodes. It was great!
I started on this course to broaden my skill set and so glad I did! Matt ensures each and every step is well-explained and the slack support group is very helpful with the coach checking on to help you in anyway possible. I had so much fun learning and completing each tasks! Highly recommend it.
I was rally surprise to learn such complicate tasks in such easy way of explanation.Some of them I had study additionally in other resources but the basic concept of Matt teaches is understandable.I don't know if I would ever undertaken to do it ,but it's quite exciting and funny work with elements of creativity and fantasy.I recommend for beginners or complete dummies to take his course (even for men🤦♂️).Further I would like to improve my knowledge and practical experience in coding. SheCodes courses was really great new experience. I am already enchanted and looking for new levels of coding. I really enjoyed all videos, given information, also Matt Delac has good English and nice voice, which really helped me not to scared of all amount of new tools.
I didn't think I would enjoy coding to be honest. However, I surprised myself by truly having fun with it. Matt made it simple and easy to follow steps. He was clear in all his explanation and he truly sounds like he enjoys teaching it. I would recommend this intro course to anyone interested in a glimpse of coding.
SheCodes made the task of learning the foundation of front-end development feel significantly less daunting even for a complete beginner like me! A lot of it was not easy but I can honestly say that the coursework, no matter how frustrating, truly makes you learn how to code. Matt does an awesome job of breaking down the abstract part of coding and making it feel tangible and understandable if you just keep trying. SheCodes is by far the most approachable and encouraging place to learn that I've tried so far. I really enjoyed this fast-paced 3 week course! Matt was super easy to understand and made concepts relatable in layman's terms. Although the homework for each week started out simple, it built up to challenging aspects which was great for learning. Would recommend this to anyone who needs accountability to learn.

I've always been intrigued by coding but it always seemed so "big and scary". I work in Marketing and was seeing more and more employers requiring HTML, CSS, and Javascript knowledge, and I didn't really know where to start. This being said, I'm so glad that I stumbled upon SheCodes. Matt is very relatable, and makes coding a lot less intimidating. The lessons - although sometimes challenging - are easy to understand, and I was always able to get help whenever I needed it via Slack. Thank you so much to João for always helping me when I get stuck and providing really detailed answers to my questions, as well Daniela for always checking up to make sure my experience is great! Overall, I really enjoyed this course and I recommend it to anyone who wants to dip their toes in the coding world!
I learned so much from Matt in the last 3 weeks. It was very hard work but definitely worth it. I went from knowing nothing about coding to being able to build my own website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I'm a university student so I was able to do the basic SheCodes course on the weekends next to my studies. I'm really proud of how far I've gotten in such a short amount of time. Happy Coding :)
The WHOLE program was absolutely fantastic ! It's very well structured and with Matt's very fast speaking speed indeed, you somehow push yourself as well and just get it done 😂😉🙌 Also, my very demanding full time job had me postpone the final project deadline twice and the staff was very understanding and patient, kindly explaining the rules (how it's allowed only once) but also encouraging me on the way. I feel so accomplished now and most importantly, I had FUN. Looking forward to the next program sometime early next year.

When I was youger I learned html, but without practice I forgot a lot of things. With these course I started to remember those things, but the real magic is how Matt easely explains the course, he gives tips and documentation that are very valuable.
I learned loads, I still cannot believe I have created a fully functional app all by myself!!! I was worried the online course would not be sufficient or lack support, but I am pleased to confirm this was not at all the case. The videos/tutorials are very clear and I am very thankful to Matt and the team (overall João) for all the assistance throughout the course!! Highly recommend it for anyone who desires to start coding.

Can't believe I did it! I am so bad with logical and maths stuff from my childhood and I would never thought I could understand coding. Nothing is impossible, and actually it doesn't ask for same skills than scientist stuff. Matt's courses are really clear and I loved doing exercices step by step to understand all the pictures. It will help me a lot into my new UX designer career! I highly recommend SheCodes!

I have always been passionate about tech, even pursuing a biomedical science degree. During the pandemic I realised that I am ready to change career and decided to give it a go at coding. SheCodes was the perfect platform to learn! Matt's classes are fun, easy to understand and have a great content. SheCodes gave me an opportunity to learn and start this new journey, and I loved it. Looking forward to continue to improve my skills!
I had some periods of frustration, more than I had expected with this project. This program is not for beginners. I should have invested more time reviewing tutorials online for JavaScript and CSS. There are free ones on the MDN website that aren't instructor led like Matt's program. I would not recommend them to learn from start to finish, but they are a way to test what you know and find solutions to what you don't know. My recommendation to anyone taking the SheCodes Plus program is to make sure you are comfortable with Javascript before moving into this more advanced workshop. I am looking forward to SheCodes Plus React, which I have already paid for but I need to work on my JavaScript skills a little further before venturing into the more advanced workshop. Although I am taking a little break, for now, I will still be studying and working on JavaScript so that in the next month or two I will be ready to take on the challenge of SheCodes Plus React.
After taking the Free Coding Class, I knew I had to enroll in the SheCodes Workshop right away. I never thought of coding as an option for me, but having the free class to see what it's all about was super helpful. I would have never dreamed I'd have so much fun learning these new skills! Matt's videos are excellent and the support you get through Slack is outstanding. I can't wait to enroll in SheCodes Plus React.
This course is amazing! I thought coding is just a skill that is good to know but after completing the course. SheCodes plus was a great experience! I loved putting my basic HTML skills to the test and improving on those skills. Working full time and then coming home to be a full time mom, SheCodes let me learn at my own pace. The videos are easy to follow and Matt explains everything in a way that writing, reading, and understanding code is almost second nature now. For anyone looking to expand on their currently knowledge or picking up so new mad skills, I would 1000% recommend SheCodes! I can't wait to start my next course!

I never would have thought I would get to this stage "React!!!". I am glad I took this opportunity when lockdown began. I have learnt a lot and it has been a combination of fun and frustration. I'm really happy for the course! It is not just a basic curse, I could learn from the scratches how to code and at the end, how to create my own project! Other thing I really loved, its that Matt gives you real scenarios and real problems in each lessons, so you have to figure it out by yourself some things!. For me , that was amazing because I could discover skills that I didn't know I have 🙂.
I'm so happy I decided to take this workshop, it's totally worth the time and the effort. I wanted to learn to code for years, and I always thought it was very difficult and reserved for people who had careers different than mine. Now I realize that it's actually very fun, Matt makes every topic very understandable. What a ride! From doing the very first free coding class, then completing my basic 3 week course and continuing to SheCodes Plus, I finally finished with the whole shebang and completed React as well. This was definitely challenging and I wouldn't have been able to do it without the support of Matt, Lexi and João who have all been very helpful and dedicated to make this a beautiful experience. The SheCodes community is amazing! I really enjoyed having access to the other students if I was ever in a pickle, and reading through other peoples contributions on Slack I learned a lot as well. I'm hoping to find a way to keep learning React and incorporate my new skill into the way I work (in my current field of urban forestry 🌲🌳)- and hopefully create tools to make the world a better place. Matt Delac's SheCodes program has been an amazing tool to help me learn the basics of CSS & JS, along with a refresher of basic HTML. His step by step instructions are easy to follow, and the challenges alongside each self-paced lesson & the weekly homework are incredibly helpful in reinforcing what you learned each week. I definitely felt a sense of accomplishment and joy after my final project! I highly recommend this beginner course series for anyone who is curious about the world of coding.
I learned so much within the past three weeks in Workshop 1. The structure of the workshop is easy to follow. The way Matt teaches the lessons, I never felt confused. He explains everything very well and provides good examples.
First things first - I’d like to thank the whole SheCodes team, and especially Matt, for creating top-notch courses and yet affordable for anyone who doesn't have any developer/coder background but has a tremendous interest in stepping into that field. SheCodes plus leveled up from the introduction course, and it was way more challenging and, at the same time, way more exciting and fun! I've created something that works! (how cool is that! 😎) I can’t wait to see what the last chapter of SheCodes React will bring!
