The SheCodes Plus workshop builds upon what we learned in the Basics workshop, and while it was more challenging, I think Matt did a great job at breaking down all the aspects into smaller, more manageable chunks! Super excited to continue on with the next workshop!
The lessons are short but very detailed and full of useful points. And Matt is so experienced at teaching coding! I am so grateful that I took the basic course and I can't wait to start more advanced ones!
I was very apprehensive about learning to code as I was previously a History teacher for ten years and I wasn't sure if I would be able to pick it up. I had a very basic understanding of coding thanks to my partner who is a Full Stack Engineer. Through Matt's classes I have been able to increase my knowledge and put what I have learnt into practice. I still have a long way to go, however, I feel more confident now and I have even taught my boyfriend a few tricks and functions that he didn't know. I am looking forward to learning more with Matt and SheCodes.

As Matt said, there is a steep learning curve when it comes to React, but once you’re over the hurdle, it all makes sense. Coming from a creative background, I didn’t think I would be too interested in the functionality of building a website but React totally changed my perspective because the language of React and its logic is fascinating, and once learnt, it is much easier than Vanilla JS. I enjoyed every step of the way, and I am excited to start building other projects and learning more about API integration.
I'm 30 years old and I think I finally know now what I want to do in my life! Thanks, Matt, I just can't believe I made this project on my own. So excited to continue to learn coding. 😍 Life is good!

I joined SheCodes because I wanted to challenge myself and design my own wedding website! I had been learning Python via an online course and became so so bored and also stuck! SheCodes and Matt have taught me that coding can be fun and not so hard to understand!

I learned HTML in the middle class, and after some push from my friends, I decided to enroll myself, which is my first coding boot camp. Each class was super easy to follow, Matt explained it thoroughly and I feel so proud of myself for every homework and challenge I submitted. At the end of the course, I feel more confident in doing the coding. For sure I won't stop here, I am ready to learn and to improve my skills even more in the future.

SheCodes has been a great experience! I'm brand new to the world of coding, but Matt breaks it down very easy for newbies like me. Everything is easy to understand, and the the modules are set up in a way easy to navigate. Being able to complete everything in my own time is a bonus since I am also working full time.

It's amazing though how much gratification you get when you can see the culmination of all the hours of hard work of building an app with a search engine and seeing results in real time. I loved learning about the power React holds. The lessons are short but hold enough information for you to grasp a certain concept. I keep being amazed by how much I love coding, because Matt and his team know what is exciting about coding and know how to not overwhelm you with too much information about the subject at once!! I will definitely join new courses if they ever make any other!

SheCodes React was a challenging course, but it really gives you great exposure to the potential of this tool. Again, Matt did a good job at explaining everything step-by-step. Companies will definitely appreciate if you learn at least one JS library, and React has some intuitive parts that make it easier to use vs Vanilla JS.
I've learned so much in just three short weeks! I went from never having coded before, to understanding and genuinely enjoying it every step of the way. Matt breaks down each new concept into easy to digest lessons that even a complete beginner like myself can understand. I can't speak highly enough for how manageable and thorough this workshop is. I completed this workshop while simultaneously working as a stylist and assisting my son through virtual school. I've already referred friends. I entered this basics course unsure what I would think and I'm finishing it eager to learn more!
Learning the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript was a great experience. I always thought that it would be too difficult for me. There were some points where I struggled a little, but due to the thorough and understandable explanations of Matt there were no problems that I could not find a solution for. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to take part in this and I might even continue with the next workshops.

My first experience in coding was in college, when I was a multimedia art student, but I never had enough time to learn coding on a level that I want. I've taken coding classes before through my community college, but I literally felt like I was teaching myself because the instructors just seemed like they didn't really care or enjoy what they were teaching. Needless to say, I didn't learn much there. At SheCodes Basic, I learned so much because Matt cares about coding and making sure his students are successful is important to him. He made coding way more interesting than I thought it could be.
Initially, I wasn't sure about signing up to the React workshop but after finishing it I'm glad I did! I really enjoyed Matt's instructions and the help from the team on Slack. It wasn't easy learning this but there was a lightbulb moment midway when I FINALLY understood and now I don't think I would go back to basic JS. This was super fun to learn and I can't wait to start my own personal project in React!

SheCodes Responsive is an incredibly useful, yet challenging course. Learning about media queries, Flexbox, and metadata/SEOs was super interesting (and very helpful for my code)! It was a bit difficult to keep up with the amount of information and track the small details, but Matt and the team did an excellent job with the examples and guiding students through the final project.

This course really teaches you how to create a web page from scratch. It has several small tutorial videos that walk you through the basics of coding, and they even check your homework. What's more, Matt gives you insights on how real devs work and tips on how you can keep learning on your own. I'm so happy that I took it and hope to apply it to my job somehow. I started off with Basics and now here I am in Plus preparing myself for React. I am so enthralled with coding and Matt gives such clear, concise instructions that it's hard not to feel like a professional programmer. Initially, I wanted to understand syntax a bit better. I was having a hard time with SQL + Python in my data science/analytics program and needed to step back to reevaluate my approach. Codecademy gave me a bit of insight as far as hands on, but there was no one there to explain it to me. So, I decided to give this a shot. I don't regret it at all. I absolutely love the workshops and highly recommend them.

Hello my name is GeorVonni (jor-von-e) and after the pandemic hit, losing a dream driver job of mine after completing CDL school to then, only lose it due to my work vehicle being vandalized it seemed there was nothing to look forward to outside of my personal hobbies of making music and running my first e-commerce store and being an artist. Dreading having to possibly go back into customer service (though a wonderful field) the typical "9-5" environment is something I've been out of for a while. I've always loved technology and my father a Marine Vet had me computer literate at 3, so when I stumbled onto SheCodes everything just made sense and I was so excited to start the program right after the free 60 minute showcase. I love that this is geared towards women and with the way tech is going now into the future.. coding is one of the most brilliant investments a woman or anyone for that matter can get into. I will be continuing this SheCodes journey at my own pace and will spread the good word to any woman who will listen and I hope to be able to teach children from what I learn here.

I feel really grateful for the knowledge and valuable experience acquired at SheCodes Plus. Matt keeps you motivated and inspired throughout the course, and the way he explains things makes it possible to build a fully functional weather app and enjoy the process. You quickly realize that learning to code can also be a lot of fun - I would often postpone going to bed, because I wanted to apply some new features to my project, or because I found out how I could improve my code and just couldn't wait till morning. So now I'm looking forward to my next step - SheCodes Responsive.

Fantastic class to learn the most important fundamentals of HTML/CSS/Javascript. Matt's explanations are concise while allowing you to understand the why behind the coding.
