Although I am already an I.T. Professional (former Network Specialist), I have been out of the workforce for the past few years due to raising my family. This class felt like the perfect stepping stone for me to get back out into the professional world. Matt is a great teacher and the Basics class was surprisingly very in-depth, clear, and concise. I can't wait to take the more advanced classes and become UTD on the newer libraries and interfaces current employers demand.
I would say that this was one of the best experiences I've ever had ( and continue to have :D); I'm finally getting closer to my dreams and that's all thanks to SheCodes and Matt for his amazing teaching.
It's natural to be skeptical about anything you buy on the internet. I've taken different courses before, and they ended up with disappointment. By recommendation of my manager, I've found SheCodes. I have learned amazing things, challenged by the weekly assignments and meeting the deadlines, and as a result, I've refreshed my memory on HTML, CSS, and Java. Before taking the workshop, I was able to do many things on my own, but the beauty of SheCodes is Matt explains every single thing with the reason behind them. In the end, you know which method you need to choose and why you are choosing it. I loved SheCodes and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Matt and his team, it couldn't be any easier to learn so much without losing any motivation, and only in a few weeks. You truly get out what you put in.
This workshop is fantastic when it comes to learning about using APIs. Javascript is tough but Matt lays it out really well for beginners.
This course covers pretty complicated and advanced stuff, but Matt clearly explained all of it for us, and I successfully completed the course. I am pretty content with what I have created so far and cannot wait to improve it more!
Matt makes an excellent teacher on the subject matter. Everything built off previous lessons flowing seamlessly. I definitely made the right choice of choosing this workshop!

I can't tell you how awesome SheCodes is, You should enroll workshops then you'll know what am i talking about. if you wanna start front-end development you've find the right place. Matt teaches you as well as possible, It's gonna be a fun journey and also full of learning. Along side the lessons you have access to a wonderful support team that you can ask your questions and as soon as possible you end up finding your way.

SheCodes was fast paced but really enjoyable. The videos explained things really well and it helped to see Matt trial and error things. I hope to take another workshop in the near future. The community on Slack with fellow students and mentors is very helpful for troubleshooting. I wish the feedback for the homework was a little more personable but with so many students I understand that it can't always be, but that's another reason why the community is helpful too. Thanks SheCodes for re-igniting my want to learn to code!
Amazing and insightful course, easy to follow each lesson. Matt does a great job in taking you step by step and opening the layers one by one so the information is to digest for someone who has no coding experience whatsoever. Excited to expand my knowledge more!

In all honesty, I’ve struggled quite a bit in the SheCodes Plus course. Which is why I truly love having the ability to go back and watch previous lessons. This was a fun, well-structured course. Matt did a great job breaking down the material into digestible chunks. I enjoyed the format of watch a video to learn a skill, do a challenge to use what you just learned, and then a video to show how the instructor would do it. I felt like I learned a lot in just 3 weeks.
This workshop was a great introduction to help me exploring the coding world. I am thinking of career switching and found out about SheCodes through Instagram. I love that the course is divided into separate parts and the deadlines definitely motivated me to stay on top of it. Matt did a great job explaining the components of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, but also giving us a challenge to explore parts of that on our own. The SheCodes team is very responsive and helpful, which is a huge plus.
My name is Sandra, I'm a molecular biologist. At university I learned programming in C and I hated it. Since then I have never had the slightest interest in learning to code. Recently, I've been interacting with programmers and I'm fascinated by the amount of things that it is possible to create. I attended to the free SheCodes workshop and I liked the way Matt explained the concepts, so I decided to sign up for SheCodes basic... and I loved it! It was easy to learn the concepts, the challenges at the end of each class made it easier to keep up with the topics. Plus it was super easy manage even with a full-time job. I'm very excited to keep learning and maybe signing up for SheCodes Pro . It was a great learning experience :)

SheCodes Plus is an excellent addition to SheCodes Basics. It is a very useful workshop where you get to learn a bunch new stuff about JavaScript, APIs and hosting. Matt explains everything clearly and even though you might think building a weather app is challenging, it becomes fun and easy.
SheCodes has opened my eyes to basic coding. Matthieu's methods are easy to follow and straight to the point. I had no idea about anything to do with code or how to code, making SheCodes Basics an extremely useful starting point for a complete novice. No lesson is too overwhelming and an overall enjoyable experience. I look forward to honing my skills further with SheCodes 👩💻

SheCodes Basic was a really fun adventure! You learn step by step, with a very easy good instructor : Matt! This program is very educational and pedagogic with a lesson/challenge pattern, which made you use what you just learnt ! Great introductory course! I learned a ton! I went into this course knowing absolutely nothing. I feel a lot more confident. I plan on taking more courses with SheCodes in the future. The assignments really forced me to stay on track and complete all of the lessons. I liked the pace of the course and the videos that Matt provides for each lesson. Overall, I would definitely recommend.
The SheCodes workshop was really well structured. I enjoyed doing the challenges after every lesson, so that I could directly put into practice what I had just learnt before. What an incredible experience! I knew very little about coding before I started SheCode Basics, but that wasn't a problem. Matt does an incredible job of breaking things down and explaining them in easy bite-sized videos so that you can learn slowly without getting overwhelmed. I loved every second of it and it was a HUGE confidence booster! I can't wait to continue on my coding journey.
I've always thought of myself as a humanities person, was never very strong in Math or Science, and had myself convinced that coding was just beyond my ability. This year I decided to try a few things that truly intimidated me and coding was at the top of the list. After attending Matt's free 1-hour intro, I felt like he was someone with a style and approach I could learn from. His pace is great, he explains things clearly, and maintains the perfect level of enthusiasm. I've just finished the 3-week Basics package and am heading to the next level.

I started my first coding course with SheCodes as a challenge for myself. And since the first video my interest grew and grew. The courses are so well structured and Matt is an incredible teacher, able to break down complex issues to a beginners level, so it is actually easy to follow and understand. I was admittedly a bit skeptical at first, but I'm now left pleasantly surprised! Matt's explanations of the basics have filled in the gaps in my prior studies, which I'm really happy about. He seems to know how to go into just the right amount of detail without going overboard. Attention to detail can even be felt in the UI/UX of the SheCodes site itself, which contributes to an effective learning environment. I've worked in other coding communities, but I've not felt as safe, relaxed, comfortable and motivated in learning to code as I do here, particularly thanks to the fact that it's not male dominated. Thanks very much to Matt and the SheCodes team! I'm looking very forward to knocking out the rest of the workshops 💪

I started this course as a complete beginner over the winter break since I had always been so curious about learning to code : at first, I was worried about whether I'll be able to complete this course and get my certificate, but I did it! We really did take baby steps in the beginning and Matt is a particularly good teacher :) It was challenging at times but I'm so grateful for all the knowledge and technical skills I've acquired during those 3 weeks (and for the support that I got from the SheCodes team when I was stuck). Overall, I'd say it was worth the price!
Matt has done an outstanding job with this program! I enjoyed how the class is structured into small steps culminating in a large project. There was an unlimited amount of help available throughout the program. After completion of my project, I looked at the webpage in awe that this was something I created on my own using code. I look forward to taking additional classes.
I am very glad that I have chosen SheCodes for my programming study. I still can't believe that I was able to build my own apps which are able to use actually. Also, how Matt teaches us was very clear and easy to understand. I would highly recommend to take this course as React is interesting to learn as well as very useful. Wow!!! I never even thought of coding until my Best friend (my Husband) encourage me to take a peek, and Peek is what I did!!. This workshop demystified the different coding languages. I went from unsure and afraid, to educated and confident. Confident that I can learn and apply the 3 basic coding languages that were covered in this workshop. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in web development or would like to get an idea of what coding feels like. Matt does a good job of explaining the different languages that were covered, so much so that my sister who is in college for Computer Science, commented that this workshop explained the languages a lot better than her professors did! Thank you Shecodes for a pleasant experience, and I loved this platform so much that I will be back to take the Shecodes Pro course!
This introductory workshop helped me explore new technology-Web Development. I would have never thought developing a website could be this easy. Matt's way of explaining concepts is mind-blowing. Attended a coding course back in my university days. Classes were so dry that i always held a bad impression for coding. SheCodes exposed me to a whole new world to coding! Wow, I can't believe I've learnt so much in 3 weeks! I was a complete beginner and now I can actually build a website. I have a huge feeling of accomplishment. I really liked the format of the lessons. Being able to watch Matt coding as he's teaching is really helpful and suits the visual learner that I am. I also liked the fact that we are taught why to do something instead of just how. This means I'm more likely to remember it too. It's been huge fun.

SheCodes React is definitely a step up in terms of difficulty compared to the previous workshops, but once you get the hang of it, it feels like a real achievement! Matt explains everything really well, going over the particularly tricky concepts multiple times, making sure to fully explain exactly how each new step works, and why you do it. If you've completed SheCodes Plus and SheCodes Responsive, this is the perfect next step for you!

I had a great time going through the videos and building this App alongside Matt. It was great to be able to have enough knowledge (after just Basics and Plus) that enabled me to experiment with the design. Access to help from the team on Slack was also brilliant. I learned a lot during the SheCodes Basic workshop! Given the fact that I have a legal background and thus no coding experience at all, I had no high expectations of myself being "good" in coding. However, with the brilliant instructions of Matt, everything is possible! Although SheCodes Basic is only a three week period, my progress has been tremendous over such a short period. On top of that, SheCodes has given me the eagerness to continue learning and to continuously improve myself. I'm already registered for the next workshops :-) I can only recommend this workshop to anyone interested in front end development, even if you have a completely different background!

I had been interested in coding before I started college, but the ration of women-to-men enrollment leaned dramatically toward the latter and established programmers in the field were less than enthusiastic to mentor an aspiring teen, so I didn't follow the inkling of interest through. A little more than ten years later, I saw the SheCodes advertisement at the top of my browser and finally gave myself over to destiny's pull. Matt Delac is an absolute angel not only for making a safe space for women of all ages and backgrounds to dip their toes into the waters of learning to code, but also for making it more accessible and less intimidating than the majority of programming bootcamps and beginner tutorials. The Basic workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to test out the shallows of the development world and see if its for them. I loved my experience with SheCodes and I credit it as the motivator for my enrollment in a seven month, full stack development community program. I'm excited to see where an advanced coding education takes me!
This workshop, like the others in SheCodes, goes straight to the basics and simple stuff that you should definitely know about coding and React. Matt, it's a very GOOD teacher. You can always get help on slack if you go stuck. They encourage you to finish the workshop by having weekly deadlines, but also offers you the possibility to request extensions if you need more time to process the knowledge or just having busy days. I'm very happy with the results of my two projects.
