When I started SheCodes Plus I was about to start a new job at a large company as a UX designer where I would be working with developers on the designs I made for mobile apps and websites. I wanted to be able to speak their language by learning how to code. SheCodes Plus really helped me transition into my new role, even just by teaching me terminology like "Calling an API" (and knowing how to do it in Javascript!) or being able to read code when I would inspect a page on our company site for things I needed to reference. It gave me a lot more confidence in my skills - especially with being the "new girl" on the team. SheCodes Plus really focuses on Javascript which I found to be the trickiest of the three coding languages (HTML, CSS, and Javascript - I'm very comfortable with CSS now lol). Overtime I started to get the hang of it especially when we got to the Vanilla Javascript stuff. I love how Matt teaches and everything is so well structured its easy to follow along. The community is great, too, because they are so fast to get back to you when you have an issue and help you get through it (This is super handy for Javascript btw!). I cannot wait to jump into Responsive! I wasn't sure if I was going to do the React course at first, but Matt kept saying that things get a lot more straightforward when we get to React, so I will now be doing that one, too, and finish off all the courses! Thanks so much for all you do Matt, team, and SheCodes! This is a fun course!

SheCodes has been one of the best things I started in years. The video's are amazing, the community is great and it's a very easy and good start te learn how to code. and don't forget: it's so much fun! I think Matt and his team has found a great way of making coding fun and I celebrate the fact that they target women. And they do it realy well, with Cat's coding, lots of emoji's and even jokes. I highly recomend SheCodes to learn how to code, to get a new skill and to have fun!
I honestly never thought that understanding and writing code was meant for me, and I always dismissed it as something too difficult to manage. Until SheCodes, that is.The workshop has given me a brand new understading of coding and has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for me! SheCodes Plus is an amazing course to expand on what you learn in the Basics course - and it's so much fun! Javascript can be confusing at times but Matt is an excellent teacher and explains it so well at every step. I really enjoyed learning how to integrate real data into a working weather app and I'm looking forward to learning even more with SheCodes!
It was almost 3 months of quite hard work but the result is worth it ⭐️ SheCodes Plus requires more effort than Basic workshop but if you like challenges 💪 then this is something for you. I got bunch of new extra useful information about API and JS plus all resources necessary to build my very first application. Matt as always is a great teacher who knows how to explain the most difficult stuff the easiest possible way. Entering fascinating world of coding now I really know how much I don't know 😅 but for sure I feel more confident and I'm looking forward to continue my journey with front end development and to see where it brings me 👩🏻💻👀🛤

Learning to code is really fun, especially when you are tutored by someone as amazing as Matt. The information that you learned in each video is very brief but when in the end of the workshop, you will be definitely surprised by what you have learned!

This was so much fun to learn! I looked forward to coming home from work every day and taking on another challenge and then ultimately building my very first app! Matt's teaching style is great and easy to understand and it is nice to be able to have videos and sources to refer back to. The team is also wonderful, with quick and helpful responses. There were times I definitely challenged, but I am so proud of what I have already accomplished and am excited to continue forward in my journey to become a software developer!

SheCodes is a great course for beginners or even advanced coders. I enjoyed the flexibility of the Basics course and plan on pursuing the more advanced courses. I really enjoyed gaining experience in Javascript, CSS, and HTML. Matt really makes the content easy to understand. I reccomend for anyone trying to learn coding!!!!
This was incredibly challenging. I really enjoyed learning more about JavaScript and API integration as well as learning how to properly work with Git and Github. Matt is a great teacher and I appreciate that there is a team that's willing to help you when you need assistance with your code. This is a great resource for those who are beginners but want to go more in-depth with their coding skills.
I am currently within the HR career path. However, I have always been curious about coding. I heard about SheCodes last year, and I decided 2022 was going to be my year to EMBARK on this coding journey. The main aspect I was interested in with coding was web design. 👩🏽💻I enjoyed learning HTML, CSS, and JS. I did not expect to learn as much as I did in this coding basics class. All the lessons are ordered in a way for easy learning and comprehension. Matt is an amazing teacher. With each homework assignment and project, you get to test your knowledge! I was hesitant to learn this on my own- however with the support of the SheCodes squad/other learners, I felt empowered that if I didn't understand- I could reach out on the real-time Slack chat. My final project reflects my love for baking! I tried to make it simple yet modern. There are still some concepts I would love to learn in order to implement for further development of my web design skills! I'm not sure what the future is for my coding journey as of now. When I joined SheCodes, I had zero coding experience, and Matt made coding so easy to learn. I love the way the lessons are divided into short videos, and they give a new activity in almost every lesson to put into practice what has been learned and makes it easier to memorize the information. I'm very proud of everything I've learned so far. And I can't wait to learn more.
With zero prior coding knowledge I watched the free coding video to see what coding is all about. I was instantly interested so I took part in the SheCodes basics course. I absolutely loved this workshop. I learned so much during this process and I absolutely loved the final project that we got to do. Building the Weather App was such a fun experience and it really taught me a lot about my abilities and was a great learning experience at filling in the gaps. I had had ZERO experience with coding before I had the opportunity to do the SheCodes workshop and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The way Matt explains it in the videos is really comprehendable for everyone. I myself am just a musician but was capable of learning something so much different and I love it. I'm really considering buying the next course! Although for a non-working student it might be a bit tough haha
SheCodes basic provides easy-to-follow content for absolute beginners. Having the capability to play lectures over when necessary is a big plus that gives flexibility. I was hesitant at first cause coding is more like a man-relating thing and it seemed to be difficult to learn. But SheCodes courses are very easy to understand and practical. Especially I love how Matt approaches and instructs coding languages in less-than-10-minutes videos so that I do not feel bored or tired to give up. Many thanks to Matt and the team.

I personally feel quite strongly that it's important to learn new skills from people who are passionate about them. It is clear that Matt is very passionate about teaching these skills in a clear, uncluttered and approachable manner. Each concept is introduced in a bite size video that is easy to fit into a corner of your day without feeling overwhelmed. I've learned that while there are endless possibilities of things any person can accomplish in theory, the surest way to actually do a thing is to make it easy for yourself. This course has made coding easy and convenient for the beginner. The variety of resources made available through the SheCodes site such as color palettes, cheat sheets and CSS code generators also show the attention to detail put into the process. Then there is the other half of the matter: access to a community of like-minded women ready to help when you get stuck. This eliminates the feeling of isolation despite being 100% online. All in all the whole learning experience feels very thorough and well thought out. Thank you to Matt and the SheCodes Team for all the care you have put into designing the SheCodes journey.

SheCodes Plus has been a whole new level of challenge, but it is achievable. Follow Matt step by step to create a fully functioning weather app. Users will need to do their own practice to really get good but this is a great set of guiding videos to get started.

The SheCodes Basics workshop is a fantastic foundational program for those interested in learning how to code, or those like me, who may have previously self-taught. The step by step video teachings are easy to follow and understand, and the challenges, with provided solutions, add an extra step to become more comfortable with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The dedicated Slack channel provided support and encouragement from peers, and having my assignments reviewed by a member of the SheCodes team helped me to gain confidence in my coding skills with their feedback and guidance. Matt made the lessons very easy to understand and enjoyed the challenges. I do believe though, that if you have a decent amount of HTML or CSS knowledge, the basic workshop would not be necessary for you to complete.
SheCodes React is an amazing course. It's challenging, lots to learn, but once you complete it, you'll feel accomplished and have so much more knowledge in such a short amount of time. Matt explains things very well. He is real and will show you that even an advanced developer still has much to learn. Loved this course!

I've been curious about coding since 1 year ago, when a friend gave me a glimpse of what front-end development was. Following this introduction, I started looking for online courses so I could learn without abdicating from my daily (and full-time) job as physiotherapist. I tried many different online resources, but it was when I stumbled upon SheCodes on Instagram that my interest started to feel like an actual career possibility as I was reading the different testimonies. The start of the course was exhilarating to me: after working from 9am to 5pm, I would come home excited to learn new things at the rhythm of Matt’s explanations. What I thought could be a hard thing to reconcile - my daily job and the coding assignments - turned out to be quite affordable (not only in price but also) in self-motivation to do more and better. Overall the course is simple, organized, well-explained, inexpensive and gives me lots of tools far from the coding itself as I learned how to Google my obstacles away in a productive manner. Furthermore, I think it’s great to know that you are not alone in the learning process, as there are many others sharing their own doubts on slack! I completely recommend this course, especially for people in the same situation as myself who have found an interest and would love to explore it without compromising their current economic safety :)
The SheCodes video classes and their other resources are amazing, and the team is extremely helpful. Matt's videos are very easy to follow and I love the fact that they are not scripted so we can learn even more from him as he films himself coding in real-time with all the inherent challenges. Another plus is Matt always shows us the best coding practices, even when he says: "You don't have to do this but I highly recommend (...)" 🙂 So I can't recommend this workshop enough for people who are beginning their coding journey like me. It is a bliss!!

I was hesitant to bite the bullet and join but I am SO GLAD I did. Previously, I did do a quick HTML/CSS coding course but there's something different about SheCodes. Matt's teaching style is easy to understand and the challenges really help you master what is being taught. The Slack community is also very helpful if you're confused or need help! Being able to take things at my pace and my own time and being able to review the videos was especially great. I will be recommending SheCodes to anyone I know!
Easy to follow up with Matt and learn how to code!
Really enjoyed the course. It was easy to follow and didn't feel like a chore completing the exercises every week. Matt what very good at explaining different concepts and the support was great. I went from not even knowing what coding was to building a website! Thank you SheCodes!! Will definitely be moving forward with my SheCodes journey.
I found this such an accessible introduction to coding and it was really satisfying to be able to see what could be produced from the very first lesson. Matt's teaching content and style is very clear and the knowledge immediately applied in each practice lesson. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to getting stuck in to SheCodes Plus!
I could not be more grateful for taking up this course. I thought coding was rocket science and something that I would not be able to do. Thanks to SheCodes and this incredible course, I have found out that coding is something that I enjoy doing, which has become my passion!!!. The course's design and the methodology that @Matthieu Melac uses make coding super enjoyable and easy to learn. Even when I got stuck, I discovered how by using the logic part of my mind, I was able to find not just one, but two o more solutions to a problem I can't wait to start SheCodes Plus and keep learning until becoming a professional developer to create solutions and services that contribute to current needs.
I am beyond thankful to Matt and the whole team for this amazing course and experience. I feel like I learned so much in such a short period of time and I cannot wait to learn more!
