Lessons where very detailed and well guided by Matt. Learnt so much from just 5 weeks! Am extremely happy that I am able to produce my own portfolio page where i can showcase to my future employers.
I completed the SheCodes Basics program with a working knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I am able to create a basic, functioning, interactive webpage. I had tried a free coding camp previously but the content was not suited to my learning style, and they did not show us how to use actual coding tools such as VS Code and Colorzilla. I finished that course feeling more confused than when I started, online with SheCodes, where I actually learned useful things that I will be able to apply irl outside of the courses. The SheCodes course material is perfectly suited to my visual learning style, and being able to go back and reference the videos at any time, as well as work alongside them in real-time in VS Code, was extremely helpful. I feel confident in my knowledge and abilities. The Slack group is also an amazing resource and any question I asked was answered within an hour. There is a big sense of community and teamwork, and it is clear that everyone wants each other to succeed. I started the SheCodes Plus course this week and have already learned even more! What I really love about the experience is that I came into it not really knowing anything about computers, and thinking it would be hard to learn. However, Matt and the SheCodes team have created a program that is easy to learn, just the right amount of challenging, and most of all, fun! I will absolutely be recommending SheCodes to any woman in my life who may be interested in learning how to code. Its an amazing and extremely fun experience, and I cant wait to learn even more!
I went into learning how to code thinking that it would be really hard, but Matt and others at SheCodes have made it simple and really easy to understand. I had fun applying everything I have learned. I cannot wait to learn more!
SheCodes has meant a lot to me. I have had coding in the back of my mind for a long time, yet I was too scared and intimidated to dive into it. I've watched many 1-2 hour short webinars about different disciplines in coding (PM, QA, etc.), yet they all looked too complicated without having a prior foundation. The moment I watched Matt Delac's ''Free Coding Class'' it felt different. I was more capable of following along, and I was actually understanding. I even found it fun! I'm so glad I went for 3-week basic class, and I now feel more empowered, confident and able to take the next lessons!

I loved learning with Matt he did very well explaining everything. When i got stuck i would just go back on the video where i was stuck on or if the code wasn't working and then i was able to solve my own issues.
SheCodes basics has been filled with a lot of learning and fun! Matt explains everything in a good way and it is so helpful with the videos you can go back and watch again and again. I would highly recommend the course!

SheCodes was an excellent, challenging, fast paced experience of learning the basic elements of HTML, CSS and Javascript in bite size, easy to digest, weekly classwork videos and assignments. Those quick easy wins are euphoric and give you the momentum to push past any troubling moments while you are learning. Matt has a great energy. He gives the tools you need to complete the assignments and projects in a way that is exciting. The knowledge you gain teaches you to recognize code in the things you already use and allows you to dream about what you can create once you gain the knowledge SheCodes provides.
An excellent beginners course to coding. I am hooked. I cannot wait to continue with the next level. Matt gives clear instruction with a blend of direct learning and the odd bit of personal research to complete the lessons and projects. So happy I found this course.
I'm celebrating a personal win today. Although it took me a little longer, I completed this course while in treatment for cancer. Thank you to Matt and the team for getting back to my questions and making these lessons easy to follow. I'm looking forward to continuing learning with SheCodes Responsive in a few weeks! I really enjoyed Matt's teaching style when learning during the Basics Course! He was able to explain the material very well and thoroughly. I didn't know where to start when it came to trying to teach myself how to code and was always on the fence about the FREE coding class in itself. But after listening Matt breakdown the curriculum step-by-step, I joined a free workshop and signed up for the Basics course the same day!
After SheCodes Basics convinced me to continue on my coding journey. The lessons are very well structured in short videos followed by a mini challenge. Matt does a great job of explaining everything so it's super easy to follow. I also appreciate the speed his team has in answering questions in Slack. Everyone has been nothing but helpful and encouraging.

I tried this out just because it looked interesting and I had been casually learning how to code with different apps. This course showed me that 1) it's not as hard as I thought it would be and 2) I really enjoy coding! As a painter by trade, I was under the impression that coding is for "math-y, smart people" but coding is like a huge puzzle that you put together and ultimately design a different kind of artwork. Matt breaks down different steps and concepts into very manageable chunks of information that easily build on top of each other. I am so grateful to SheCodes for opening this door in my life and showing me another opportunity!

I am very surprised at how much I learned during this workshop. Many of the topics in SheCodes Plus were completely new to me and while I may not be 100% comfortable with them, I am not completely lost either. Matt did an amazing job of explaining the process and walking through this with us step-by-step. I couldn't ask for a better teacher!

For a long time I've envisioned working with software development, but by being already 30 years old, sometimes I thought it was getting too late to switch careers, as someone that came from a business background working with procurement and sales. But I kept pursuing my dream and managed to find a job as a QA, doing manual testing for a software. But manually testing only, at some point was no longer a challenge, and so I had the opportunity to work with test automation. While looking to start learning programming language, I found sheCodes basics and I instantly fell in love with Matt's didactics, teaching code in a simple, fun and clear way! That really helped me to get a head start, with a testing tool that uses javascript as framework. It's been over 3 years working as a Quality Assurance Engineer for automation, and I love it! And to keep increasing my coding knowledge I decided that I want to become a front end developer. So I asked my boss about this possibility, and after showing him the sheCodes bootcamp he decided to invest in the course for me and soon I'll be picking up front end tasks. I can't wait!

It was unbelievable. I had started learning JavaScript many times, but each time I quickly became frustrated with its complexity and always thought I could not work with it without help. But during this workshop, Matt patiently simplified the complex concepts of JavaScript to help me overcome my fear of facing it and learn the concepts he had taught us, without anyone else's help.

Learning how to build apps with React definitely has not been the easiest to grasp in the beginning, but once you get the hang of how things work, it is very rewarding. Also, Matt's style of teaching and breakdown of concepts absolutely helped me make sense of this framework. In comparison to my other coding classes, this was the best course I have ever taken! Matt explains every lesson in a concise and straightforward manner. He has an impressive teaching style, especially when it comes to articulating main points in each lesson. In my opinion, even people who have no prior knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript will be able to follow and understand this lesson. Furthermore, I can say the content is not too overwhelming, it is just about right in terms of portions. Matt has helped me understand specific cases that had me wondering and finally was able to comprehend why they happened. The coding course has been enjoyable and very informative for me. My first project has finally been completed, and I am happy about it. I am looking forward to the next workshop!

Even though my English is not a native speaker and programming itself is not the easiest thing in the world, I had a great time. A lot of practice and everything in the course is structured and there is no unnecessary information. I definitely recommend it!
It's really an amazing journey with SheCodes and my instructor, Matt. He is always positive and encourage us to try our best to develope our projects.
I had an absolute blast with the SheCodes Responsive course. The first thing that happened was my mind was completely blown when I learned about Boostrap css utility classes AND how easy it is to modify code for web responsive experiences. I heavily rely on these two things when I am building webpages now! I am a UX designer learning coding and use Figma daily. I am usually tasked with designing wireframes and desktop and mobile screens. It is really cool that now I know how developers take my design and code them. I loved that portion of the course when Matt showed us a Figma file and how the developer pokes through it - which also reinforces the importance of a clean design file! I found myself using the skills I am learning in the SheCodes workshops at work, and I have started working with our developers on my designs and found it easier to explain my stuff to them. I also find myself coding on evenings and weekends for fun, too! For any UX designers, I would say Responsive is THE course to take so you get a better idea of what happens to your designs when they are getting built, what developers looks for, and how it can make working with them fun and rewarding to make impactful features and products. I am SO glad I chose SheCodes. After paying a pretty penny for another coding bootcamp and having a really negative experience, I was very hesitant about joining but I am so happy I did. Joining this program has renewed my confidence to continue pursuing software development and change my career path. Matt was born to be an instructor. The lessons are concise, but very informative. Concepts are presented in relatable, digestible pieces that make sense. I can't wait to continue through all of the workshops. 😄
Wow! I think I've just attended the most user friendly, clearly explained, concise workshop ever. I received some precious basic info alongside tips while having fun and in a very rewarding manner, with achievements and help given along the way. The only regret I have is preparing for med school in highschool instead of learning the basics in html, css & JavaScript. SheCodes Foundation is indeed a place to be if you really want to develop or grow your career in the IT Industry. I started learning coding from the scratch and I can tell you that my 3weeks learning SheCodes Basics was really worth it, I enjoyed every bit of the training. In time past, I used to see coded languages as strange but now I've become familiar with them. I can now play around HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT with ease. The instructional videos with detailed explanations, challenges and homework made my learning easier and less stressful. The Slack platform gave me the opportunity to interact with my wonderful classmates from all over world regardless of our Race, Color, Nationality or Ethnicity. This workshop was definitely more challenging, working with React was awkward at first but it presents the code in a simpler and "cleaner" way! I could see that we can learn something new, such as coding (that seems impossible to learn at the first sight) but I know I still have a lot more to learn, it's a whole world that I don't know half of yet! This workshop was both challenging and exciting. The times I came up with my own solutions to the bugs in my code really made me feel like a legit coder! All thanks to the tips Matt gives in every video. And when I couldn't figure them out, the instructors on slack were readily available to help. I may not feel like a pro, but I certainly don't feel like a beginner anymore either. Definitely worth it!
