I learned so much in only three weeks! The course was easy to follow and I loved that I could do it on my own time.
I really loved learning the basics to code because I was able to really understand a lot of new things as well as exploring a new world. I think the SheCodes is a great opportunity to extend one's tool kit.
Highly recommended to anyone wishing to learn some basics on coding or anyone looking for a refresher. I've tried to teach myself some coding before, but it's different having someone to teach you and knowing that you have support when you get stuck on something. What I love about SheCodes is that it's more practical and doesn't give too much emphasis on theories. From working in a tech company, what you need more is the practical application and not the theories. I really enjoyed this workshop, and so I'd definitely recommend it!

I've always had a broad range of interests and skills. I graduated from university in 2015 and have since worked in investment portfolio management. When I was in middle school, I loved blogging and taught myself how to use hmtl/css in order to make my blog look pretty. I came to really enjoy working on my blog because I've always been an artist and I liked how creative you can be. I never really spent much time thinking about pursuing coding further or even a career. This is mostly because my understanding of coding was very limited and I assumed you would need to study computer science in order to be good at it. Enrolling in SheCodes has helped me correct my misunderstanding of coding and now I better understand that it is a skill that anyone can learn. Matt's classes helped me pick up html/css very easily. This class has made me realize that I miss working with my creative side and that I enjoy coding.
I fell in love with coding in the introductory course, now in the Plus, I was able to develop much more skills and create a weather app in the end! It was awesome to build something from scratch! Because we build little by little every week it is much more stimulating than most online courses that just give you classes and at the end you need to do a big project from zero. SheCodes approach is much better and more exciting for learning! Looking forward to React!

Over a year ago I took basic HTML classes at school and I realized coding is something I really enjoy, but I never had the time to properly learn. The video courses, challenges, and homework were so much fun to do - and I'm ending this first workshop with more confidence, and a better understanding of the basics of coding! I love how the classes were divided, allowing each lesson to build on the fundamentals you are continually learning. I only knew enough coding "to be dangerous" before this course -- learning with purpose and direction was perfect to really make the concepts stick. I took this class to look into whether coding was something that would interest me. I loved the self-paced timeline of the program. I also really enjoyed that each homework assignment left you with a bit of a challenge that you were not taught, so you had to do some experimenting/digging to figure it out! Excited for what is next!

I love SheCodes! I decided to take the SheCodes workshops during Quarantine, and it has been a great way to grow my knowledge of coding and have something productive to do with all of my extra free time indoors. I would HIGHLY recommend these workshops to anyone who has wanted to learn more about coding, the videos are easy to follow, and the homework and projects are easy to complete. No deadline will make you feel overwhelmed, and the Slack communities they have created are all welcoming. All of the women in the slack communities want you to succeed. It's a great place to see women empowering other women! And coming out of the other side of the Plus workshop with an app you built by yourself is one of the BEST feelings! 10/10, 10000000 ⭐️.

This course was so much fun! Matt does a fantastic job of explaining everything in each lesson. I love that sometimes there are things in the challenge that he didn't discuss, so that I can explore websites that will fill in any blanks.

It is a great start for someone who doesn't have any coding experience :) The only thing that I would love to be added - extra resources, materials and recommendations to read for each of the topics. There is so much information available online, that it is hard to find something easy-to-understand and yet practical. Looking forward to the next level!
I was looking for a new skillset to add to my arsenal and somehow coding just fell on my lap. I started to search for courses online and found the programs quite confusing until I came across this workshop. I love the simple approach and the breakdown of the lessons. The structure makes it very easy to follow and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this workshop to anyone who is looking for an easy-to-follow online program.
I absolutely loved this bootcamp! The workshops were simple and easy to follow. Other bootcamps make coding seem hard and daunting, but Matt does a fantastic job of breaking down the concepts and the logic! I'm so grateful for this course. It wasn't always easy but the challenge is half the game. Trying to find the right answers in the previous lessons, the world wide web, and if all fails then dear João is there to set your code straight. In coding, the devil really is in the detail. One little single quote missing and the entire function, possibly several, will be affected. I love coding!

This was such a smooth process at your own pace! It's a great way to learn HTML, CSS and JS at the same time. The Slack channel is a great resource, and I love that Matt gives you small challenges on every lesson.
I love that this program is mostly self paced. You do have deadlines to keep you on track but it is doable. Matt explains the material simply and easy to understand. Make sure to take notes during the videos to compare your work.
Love the SheCodes format, it's manageable around full time work and family commitments with easy to digest modules and feels really empowering to be able to achieve so much within an area that is often made to feel out of reach.

Learning how to build a weather app in React has been an exciting, challenging, and rewarding experience! I loved being able to implement new features in my React weather app that I wasn't able to in my first vanilla JavaScript app. I especially found the Slack chat group to be extremely helpful whenever I got stuck. SheCodes has definitely inspired me to further pursue a career in software development!

SO MANY FEELINGS: so happy because it was a super fun journey through all these courses, but sad because it is over :) :( . This one was a real challenge, but as always Matt was able to explain and demonstrate everything perfectly. I am very happy that I had discovered SheCodes in this last summer, and I cannot be more thankfull to Matt and the whole team for having created and maintained this academy. Never in my life I would though to become passionate about frontend development. In my few years of experience, I always loved the backend component, and hated the frontend. Never understood CSS or HTML, and was scare to engage in the React thing. But after this experience I learned A LOT and actually have decided to try to change my career to be more frontend"ish" . I truly and deeply advise every women who wants to improve their frontend technicall skills to enjoy this amazing journey. Be safe!

SheCodes Workshops has been quite a ride... The react workshop is the final lap of a road and undoubtedly the most challenging and rewarding one. It is unbelievable how much can be learned during 5 months with the adequate direction, and guidance from tutors who absolutely love their work and share not only their knowledge but passion about it. I feel now passionate myself about the new brave coding world. Amazing.
I loved all the SheCodes Workshops, from the first basic one to React. Over a period of just a few months I went from knowing nothing about coding to creating my own App and had a lot of fun doing it! I took SheCodes Plus right after the first SheCodes workshop and really loved it. SheCodes was my first exposure to coding and it was fun to learn this new, challenging skill! As someone who was a complete beginner I couldn't recommend it more.
I loved working on this project since it gave us the needed tools to integrate real-time information using an API. After creating this project, I have learned a lot in JavaScript. Before I looked through the Vanilla JS videos, I had googled how to increment days in JavaScript which gave me more information as to how JavaScript's internal dates work. This has been a great challenge to complete!
I've now taken the basic and the Plus course, and I love it! Happily continuing forward with React to keep adding to my coding toolkit :)

I work a Full-Time job and was able to learn so much at my own pace and time. I needed/wanted an intro to coding and this was a great way to dive in! It always sounded so intimidating, and now I have some experience, I have a great appreciation for the engineers I know! The videos were easy to follow, and I loved doing it on my own time.
