It was a great experience to be able to understand the basic concepts of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript within 3 weeks. The lesson videos were short and easy to follow. SheCodes Basics has unlocked a love for coding and a new career path for me. I should have done this long ago! I've tried learning code in a traditional college setting and I can honestly say I've learned more in the past three weeks than I ever learned in my previous attempts during college. Matt's instructions are always easy to follow and support is always available from peers and technical experts through Slack. I cannot wait to continue to the more advanced courses. Love that Matt walks you logically through each step of the coding fundamentals. It's super beginner-friendly and the challenges that follow each exercise help to put to practice what you learn. The SheCodes team is amazing and very prompt in answering general questions about the workshop as well as troubleshooting when you get stuck (which you inevitably will, but that's all part of the coding process!).
I tried many years ago to develop Front-End skills, but after HTML and CSS I felt overwhelmed and - without a real project - just stuck. Then I got a real possible project to work on at my job. At the same time I bumped into SheCodes. It was love at first sight! My company and my university helped me out and I just started. With SheCodes one can find not only a really clear and project-driven learning environment, but also a community of people ready to expose their wins and failures, mistakes and eurekas... I even met some of my fellows in real life, sharing this passion and trying to do better all together :D Now it is possible for me to play with JavaScript, APIs, hosting platforms and GitHub. Just amazing what you can achieve in some months! Looking forward to complete the next steps!
I'm amazed how much I have learned within the past few months. The wonderful team that answers so many questions for me and guides me through codes with an explanation that are so detailed. I finally realized this past workshop is that Matt teaches in a way to make you think . Making a mistake in class is a learning experience, not a negative one. When I was a teenager, I loved trying to build websites - however, it was all about trial and error (when internet was still starting...). Fast forward to today, here I am, officially learning how to code. I am really happy I found the SheCodes Workshops. I am definitely going to keep on developing in my journey in coding.

After stumbling across this coding workshop by accident, I've fallen in love with Coding. I'm currently studying Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology, however, this workshop was so fun that I will be transferring to Web Development completely. I highly recommend these classes. I can't wait to move on to SheCodes Plus!
absolutely loved this workshop! my favourite out of all SheCodes workshops. React is so much fun and challenging. Feels amazing to have completed it and actually have two react applications built by myself from scratch. Almost feeling sad it's over :)))
I love how the workshops build on each other, delivering material in approachable, bite-sized pieces. My final project for SheCodes Responsive has progressed so far since I took SheCodes Basic, and I am so much more confident writing code.

The SheCodes Basics course was such a lovely introduction into coding. I found the lessons really engaging and informative. The structure for learning was perfect for me. The entire community of women were so supportive and inspiring. And although the workshop was challenging it was also highly rewarding. I cannot wait to complete future workshops!

I loved SheCodes Plus. I learned so much. Working on the weather app project was fun and challening at the same time and I really injoyed it. As I am all about logic, Javascript is made for me, as it seems. I can't wait to dive deeper into the world of coding. Bring it on! :)
I've tried several different ways to learn to code and from the beginning I knew I would love it, but I never really found one that clicked until SheCodes. Incredibly easy to follow along and go at your own pace, the program is obviously well thought out and geared towards beginners. Even my friend, a long time programmer, was impressed with the progress I made in just three weeks. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get their foot in the door of coding.
The best way to describe these past eight weeks is challenging, infuriating, and exhilarating! Loved the challenges and the help that is available at all times. Learning new skills while already working a full-time and part-time job has made me be creative in ways of balancing that I never knew I had in me. Thank you for giving me the gift of knowledge and balance!

I'm so glad that I did this course! Though it's been challenging, I love that I've been able to go back and rewatch videos, get feedback from peers and also from the SheCodes staff. They get back to you quickly and really take the time to explain things when I got stuck. I had been using other resources to try to learn coding before trying SheCodes, including apps. I feel like I'm grasping concepts better and can actually apply what I'm learning. I really love that you have assignments and homework deadlines, I needed the extra motivation, I wasn't getting that from other things I had tried. I'm really excited to complete all of the other courses I signed up for with SheCodes!
I have no experience in coding. I didn't even know what it was really, until a couple months ago. I was nervous to try, and even more nervous to take a boot camp. I am horrible at school. I am not good at processing information just by listening. SheCodes has been the best thing, and I am so happy I found it. Matt is an excellent teacher! I love the way he talks, and he keeps you interested. He explains things so well. And to top it off, you actually DO the coding after he shows you. I learn best by doing, and this has been the best thing for me. I am just completing the basic course and plan on taking the pro course! I've been feeling stuck for the past few months, and I had a slight interest in coding and front-end development specifically. I tried learning more about it, but I kept getting stuck until I stumbled upon SheCodes! I started the Basics workshop to see if I liked it, and I love how the lessons were structured so not only are you building on something you've learned, but you're given challenges to implement what you learned. I feel like I'm actually learning all of this and applying it, and I can't wait to continue my coding journey with SheCodes Pro!

I loved all the challenges, and especially the last project, and felt that I really needed them to make sure I actually tested out some things for myself. My favourite part was playing around with the look and structure of my page while doing other things in the background, because focusing on a specific thing for a long time is difficult for me. I also loved looking at other women's projects and will be going through and give away some likes later 😘I'm so hyped to make more webpages now!!!! 😃I thoroughly enjoyed the Basic workshop and I am so excited to continue on to the Plus workshop!

I have had so much fun for the past 3 weeks with SheCodes Basics! I can't believe how much I have learned in just 3 weeks. I have been working as an IT Service Desk Analyst for 10 years and I was desperately looking for something better. I have been working closely with our development team for the past 2 years. At first, I was so intimidated sitting in their meetings because I didn't understand a thing and I thought you had to be some kind of genius to do that kind of work. Then slowly I began to understand what they were talking about and became familiar with some of the lingo. I started wondering if I could do it too. I tried two other learning programs online and became frustrated and felt defeated. Then I saw an advertisement on a YouTube video for SheCodes and decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did! After watching the free introductory class I knew this was it for me and it would change my life. I signed up for all of the workshops and I can't wait to start SheCodes Plus! The short video lessons are the perfect way for me to learn and I love the challenges, homework, and deadlines! I need structure to keep me on track. Matt is a wonderful teacher who explains things in the simplest terms and in a way that everyone can understand. Thank you, Matt and the SheCodes team! I am looking forward to the rest of my journey!
I had a great time completing this next course on my coding journey. I love the fact that I can learn as fast as I want to and that there's always support. Getting new input on a regular base and putting it to test right aways is a great way to learn.

Love the workshop and lectures! Matt knows what he is teaching and makes the lectures very fun. Lessons are all broken into minute-long videos which makes them very easy to follow and understand. I can never imagine myself being able to build a website from scratch with my creativity and everything I learnt from the workshop. Highly recommend it to anyone who would like to try to explore the world of coding!

It's incredible to think of how much progress I've made in a few months. All Matt's tutorials are so hands-on. I love the way he explains everything, so clear and so practical. He doesn't waste our time with unnecessary details and go step by step, showing how he builds things. I'm more confident about becoming a front-end developer because now I get it. I understand how to find solutions and how to integrate responsiveness into every project.
As a Graphic Design graduate it was great to learn the coding basics to understand how to make my web designs come to life. What I loved most about SheCodes are the little challenges after each lesson. So I could already apply the knowledge after learning it.
This is the first time I have ever coded in my life and I was super nervous at first. Matt's lessons are broken down into small increments and the challenges make it very easy to check your learning at your own pace. I love that I can pause the video, try something and go back and rewatch if I need. The community is also very supportive if you have any questions along the way! I am super exicted to start the next workshop!

SheCodes has been great for building my confidence and beginning my coding journey! All the tutorials are easy to follow and I love that the homework was structured to include real world applications and problem-solving.
This is my third workshop with SheCodes, and is the most difficult one. I won't lie, it took me way longer to finish than I have planned originally. I love that the team has added an ability to work on the second project (dictionary) which I am planning to use a little later.
This workshop is amazing! Coding looked so complicated and felt so overwhelming when I tried to figure it out myself. This whole experience and teaching made me understand coding on a base level I never would have on my own, this experience gave me the opportunity to learn, experience and do it myself essentially with help. I love the hands on approach and that it doesn't feel like spoon feeding, yet it is laid out so clearly that you completely understand what is going on. I would recommend this platform to anyone I come across
After years of putting this off and thinking I wasn't smart enough, or didn't have enough time, I've discovered a new love and career path! Originally signed up due to a recent promotion however, with this new-found knowledge and love for Coding I can't wait to learn more!

This has been an incredible workshop. I cannot express how much I love Matt's teaching style, each video very clear and not too long, and then the next video building on the concepts you learned before. It meant that even starting with zero knowledge I was able to follow along easily, and quickly got to grips with coding principles - and if I was ever stuck, there was a whole community on Slack to help. I also really liked how SheCodes has a lot of tools you can use, but also how the course taught me how to find the answer elsewhere if I was struggling; useful for any future coding I do! I have loved learning to code with the SheCodes course. I found the course content really interesting and it has been so useful to have the practical challenges every step of the way, followed by the solution. The Slack channels have also been a great tool as everyone has been so helpful and informative. I am looking forward to my next challenge - coding a website for my husband's business venture!

Since graduating from college in June, I wasn't sure which path I wanted to take in tech. Thankfully, I saw a SheCodes ad on Youtube. Initially, I was introduced to html/css many years ago when I took 2 online courses at a local college; however, for whatever reason I didn't pursue it. I'm happy to have gotten reintroduced to it by taking the SheCodes basic workshop. I forgot how interesting it was. And since I'm a visual learner, I loved learning by watching videos. It made the material easier to understand and the three weeks flew by. Now I have an idea of which direction I want to take.
When I started SheCodes, I had absolutely ZERO experience/knowledge with any form of coding. I loved the pace and the flexibility of the due dates because life happens. By the end of the workshop I have the base knowledge of what it takes to create a website and I look forward to learning more in the advanced workshops!
Really wonderful experience. I have taken coding classes before, but I loved how often we were challenged to try out new lessons. These challenges built on one another nicely and it was a pleasant surprise that homework consisted of brand new challenges using the skills we had already learned. Often in other classes these assignments build on one another and then your final project is what you have been working on, but this challenged you to start from scratch again and build something new.
Matt's style of teaching is a great, I loved the mix of theory and practical work. He explains the code in simple terms, making it really fun and easy to pick up quickly!
The SheCodes Basics Workshop taught me so much in a short amount of time 😊 Matt makes everything easy to learn and the format and rhythm is adapted to all kinds of lifestyles. I took my first CSS course in my freshman year of college, I failed, terribly. I was so discouraged I did not want to even look at my computer... But today, 8 years later, I decided to give it a try and see if I wasn't a complete failure (when it came to coding).. and let me tell you.. I am amazed! I understood (mostly) everything instructor Matt was presenting! I loved his teaching style, and could really understand all of his comparisons and analogies. Really grateful that I took this course.
It was very fun to complete all the challenges. Specially the final project. Also, sometimes it was a little frustrating but it was totally worth it once it was all fixed. I really loved the workshop and I will definitely recommend others to give it a try!
