Hello! I'm a newcomer in coding, and my specialty is far from it, too. I won the participation in the course as one of 10,000 Ukrainian women-refugees. At first I was afraid that I couldn’t understand anything from the explanation and wouldn’t be able to complete any task. However, in fact everything was brilliantly clear for me, and I gained a great experience during this 3 week and really fallen in love with coding! Matt is a great tutor! Now look at me! I’ve just completed my first page in HTML, using a JS function and some CSS tricks. It's a cool relax and a great challenge together! Great second course! Again there was loads of challenges and interactions that made learning easy to follow along! I love that you can watch the videos back and adjust the speed, as well as individual homework pieces that build up to the final project so it isn't so scary to submit the project at the end!

I tried learning js during the quarantine and loved it. I even started making my own site IlearnRussian.net However, I realized that my knowledge needs to be consolidated and sharpened by mentors, so I'm trying to find a school. JS is not an easy language to master for me, and I would love to learn from teachers. (So far I've been learning on my own). During quarantine two years ago, I watched a video, where I heard about html, googled it, didn't understand the explanation, searched it on youtube, watched videos and practiced, was surprised that it's so simple, and gradually got from html / css to js. Since I have a project I'm interested in, I started working on that. I teach foreign languages, focusing on teaching Russian for foreigners. So I started working on a site teaching Russian to foreigners (IlearnRussian.net). The things there are what I did on my own, a project I learned by watching a youtube video, or a code I googled on the internet.
I love every step of the responsive workshop and even though some parts were repeating, it really helped to understand it better in the end. Never thought I could program a page like this on my own.
I was looking to up-skill myself and came across SheCodes. The Workshop was interesting and it motivated me to learn the skills in detail that I already knew in bits and pieces, understand the basics and build on top of it, enhance the skill with latest trends. SheCodes gives the flexibility to learn at own pace but with moderation which is very impressive. It is a nice and well organised platform.The courses are designed in an approachable way, the team is very helpful and keeps us on track. Homework are checked and you get your results in email which is encouraging. SheCodes is doing some amazing things for women globally, and it's so exciting that I got to be a part of that! I loved that participating in a course was also helping women in developing countries to be able to do the same!

Just like SheCodes Basics, I loved SheCodes Plus and thought it was a perfect continuation of the learning path. Let me start off by saying that this experience learning from Shecodes has changed my life forever! I was never that kid who loved the computer growing up; that was my younger sister. I studied music while she went on to become a successful Program Developer. I would always watch her work and felt like it was too hard for me to ever understand; coding was out of my league. When I saw this opportunity come up, I became excited. I started reading all the stories of people who changed their careers after taking the classes and knew I wanted the same opportunity. I started with the basic introductory video, and I was HOOKED!! I found myself talking to anyone who would listen about my Shecodes experience. I called my sister, and she was so excited for me. I was asking questions about coding and we’re bonding even closer because of it. Learning something new, especially at an older age can be frightening. I’m telling you that Shecodes is an experience that every new student should experience. Matt does an incredible job explaining the details so when its time to show your work through homework, you feel confident. SheCodes Basics is a great learning program for someone completely new to tech or new to coding like me. So far I never interest with tech and I really have no idea what is coding. But after joined and complete my course, I really enjoyed and I really love the challenges and push deadlines that SheCodes always alert me. This community and this course really inspire me because I have seen a lot of women here learning and developing ourself to the tech career. SheCodes Plus was a great course! It was more challenging, but still really doable! It was easy to follow Matt's instructions and having to apply it to your own project. Ofcourse, sometimes I struggled a bit but that is exactly what you need when you are learning a new skill. I loved working on an actual real-life project, while learning to use a professional way of setting up a new programming project.
SheCodes has given me confidence that I can continue to learn even when it is challenging. I love this community, all it's offered me and I'm excited to keep coding in the future! Thank you!

Jumped into this workshop with no prior knowledge of coding. Just wanted to get a feel so maybe I could pivot out of healthcare. I loved it. It was satisfying to watch something you've built go from start to finished product. I'm thankful that SheCodes was so structured but not too rigorous. Help was always available and I never felt like I was drowning when I did get stuck.

I joined SheCodes to brush up on my coding. I haven't done any coding since undergrad (3 years ago). This course is a great refresher especially for those of us who may have touched programming, but was not necessarily focused on it. I always loved coding, but I absolutely HATED web development. Shecodes makes web development both easier and much more enjoyable.
I love the basic course, It's a great work through to understand the basics of html, css and js. The community over slack is helpful when you are stuck in the challenges or homework. Highly recommend!!

Just from learning through SheCodes Basics, I could say that I can now eloquently build websites by learning the basics (HTML, CSS & JS)! Matt taught me everything that I needed to know in such an effective way; guiding me through every step I needed to understand, just like baby steps! I love the fact that I'm allowed to do these classes in my own time and capacity, and the projects are really fun and challenging to do! It's really pushing my boundaries to want to learn more and challenge myself to become a better programmer in the future! I discovered SheCodes through Instagram when I had a very bored day and soon got very passionate about coding. I love the learning style of the course and it really feels more like solving challenges and riddles, rather than studying something.
The knowledge that I took away from this course gives me the confidence to pursue my dreams even further to become a Frontend Developer. Matt ensures that it doesn't feel rushed and that you fully understand before moving on making sure you don't feel overwhelmed or confused. I loved the Plus course and I can't wait to move on to the next.
Loved learning JS more in depth and playing around with APIs. Although this course was more difficult than the last, Matt does a great job with showing you how to build the project from scratch to finish.

I completed the SheCodes Basics program with a working knowledge of basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I am able to create a basic, functioning, interactive webpage. I had tried a free coding camp previously but the content was not suited to my learning style, and they did not show us how to use actual coding tools such as VS Code and Colorzilla. I finished that course feeling more confused than when I started, online with SheCodes, where I actually learned useful things that I will be able to apply irl outside of the courses. The SheCodes course material is perfectly suited to my visual learning style, and being able to go back and reference the videos at any time, as well as work alongside them in real-time in VS Code, was extremely helpful. I feel confident in my knowledge and abilities. The Slack group is also an amazing resource and any question I asked was answered within an hour. There is a big sense of community and teamwork, and it is clear that everyone wants each other to succeed. I started the SheCodes Plus course this week and have already learned even more! What I really love about the experience is that I came into it not really knowing anything about computers, and thinking it would be hard to learn. However, Matt and the SheCodes team have created a program that is easy to learn, just the right amount of challenging, and most of all, fun! I will absolutely be recommending SheCodes to any woman in my life who may be interested in learning how to code. Its an amazing and extremely fun experience, and I cant wait to learn even more!

I loved learning with Matt he did very well explaining everything. When i got stuck i would just go back on the video where i was stuck on or if the code wasn't working and then i was able to solve my own issues.
It was my first time ever coding experience. The lectures are designed in such a way that a complete newcomer can easily fit in. The challenges after each lecture are so helpful to practice any new concept taught. Overall I loved this experience.

For a long time I've envisioned working with software development, but by being already 30 years old, sometimes I thought it was getting too late to switch careers, as someone that came from a business background working with procurement and sales. But I kept pursuing my dream and managed to find a job as a QA, doing manual testing for a software. But manually testing only, at some point was no longer a challenge, and so I had the opportunity to work with test automation. While looking to start learning programming language, I found sheCodes basics and I instantly fell in love with Matt's didactics, teaching code in a simple, fun and clear way! That really helped me to get a head start, with a testing tool that uses javascript as framework. It's been over 3 years working as a Quality Assurance Engineer for automation, and I love it! And to keep increasing my coding knowledge I decided that I want to become a front end developer. So I asked my boss about this possibility, and after showing him the sheCodes bootcamp he decided to invest in the course for me and soon I'll be picking up front end tasks. I can't wait!

I enjoyed the basic SheCodes course and it really helped me to kick start my coding journey. Lectures are easy to follow, explanations are quite clear and the Slack chat is very useful when it comes to asking questions and getting support. They also provide learners with a lot of resources for projects, which is great. On the downside, I expected to get a deeper knowledge of JavaScript. That part was too basic and it felt like we could have gone a bit further. Apart from that, I loved everything else and I will definitely recommend this course to those looking for an introduction to coding.

I had always found coding to be very intimidating but since I began to learn with SheCodes I have really enjoyed it! Each lesson is very clear and easy to understand. I love that I was able to work at my own pace and had help from classmates on Slack. It was really fun to start learning coding during my free time. SheCodes makes coding easy to follow and motivates you to continue learning! I had an absolute blast with the SheCodes Responsive course. The first thing that happened was my mind was completely blown when I learned about Boostrap css utility classes AND how easy it is to modify code for web responsive experiences. I heavily rely on these two things when I am building webpages now! I am a UX designer learning coding and use Figma daily. I am usually tasked with designing wireframes and desktop and mobile screens. It is really cool that now I know how developers take my design and code them. I loved that portion of the course when Matt showed us a Figma file and how the developer pokes through it - which also reinforces the importance of a clean design file! I found myself using the skills I am learning in the SheCodes workshops at work, and I have started working with our developers on my designs and found it easier to explain my stuff to them. I also find myself coding on evenings and weekends for fun, too! For any UX designers, I would say Responsive is THE course to take so you get a better idea of what happens to your designs when they are getting built, what developers looks for, and how it can make working with them fun and rewarding to make impactful features and products. Especially when it comes to responsive experiences! Thanks again SheCodes crew and Matt! I'll be seeing you next week in SheCodes React!

I've always hesitated to try to learn code because it seemed daunting and something I did not know I would enjoy. However, with SheCodes, I've found a new appreciation for learning languages such as Java and HTML. This program and the team behind it are full of people who are always more than happy to help you through your work and adjust if you fall behind. I have a busy schedule as a current student but following the SheCodes program never proved to be a hassle to finish nor a strain on my ongoing schoolwork. I love this program and it is a decision I will continuously thank myself for following through with. I cannot wait to keep going.
