I had an amazing time learning how to code and challenging myself to finish my homework on time. The past few weeks have been an eye-opener and I learned to push myself and not give up when I felt stuck. Slack and Google were my friends throughout my journey, I was able to find solutions and other ways of coding which made me understand better and enabled me to try different things without any fear. I still have a long way but I am up for any challenge coming my way.
SheCodes Plus was more challenging than the basics but it was fun and I learnt a lot about how the things learnt in basics can be used practically.
SheCodes has been instrumental in my learning journey, particularly in HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Prior to this, I had no knowledge of web design, and now I possess the skills to independently create a website from the ground up.
Another cool ride through Tech. I really learnt a whole lot. I used to have problem understanding how to make a repo, commit my work to GitHub which was made simple in this course to understand! Learning how to host using Netlify is also awesome! I am just happy i made the decision to learn from SheCodes as it is making my journey in tech a sweet one. This workshop provided an opportunity how to practise our coding skills and build a landing page without bootstrap but achieving the same effect. Lots of new skills learned.
I just completed my first project using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS! It was challenging at times but Matt provided all the core knowledge and tips I needed to achieve the landing page I wanted. It feels good to introduce yourself as "a woman in tech!" (After learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript basics, that is me!). I am a passionate young woman in Kenya who is passionate about technology! Going to university, I picked a tech career (Bachelor of Technology), and my dream where it will be tech-intensive. Let's say my dreams got stuck in dreamland. I am not saying I did not enjoy it, but the tech part was utterly erased. Being selected for the SheCodes scholarship has been my happiest moment because we all know coding courses cost a fortune to an unemployed adult! Anyway, on the real deal, SheCodes Basics course has made and surpassed my expectations. My passion for coding and dreams of becoming a Full-Stack software engineer has doubled. Unlike before, I can confidently say I know how to interact with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Of course, I mean simple codes. I am far from making complex interactions, but one step at a time. I just wanted to let you know that I will reach there someday. Matt is an extraordinary tutor; his way of explaining complex things in simpler terms to a total beginner is just magical. I had a ton of fun building the final project for this add-on workshop and further developing my skills using React. I was able to build upon what I learned in SheCodes React and practice certain skills I was less confident in. This add-on was really cool. I continue to be amazed at the websites we build. I love that we actively apply what we've learned through a series of practical exercises. From fluid grids to flexible images, media queries to breakpoints, each aspect of responsive design was thoroughly explored, leaving no stone unturned.
The goal I had was to gain as much knowledge and insights about coding and the different elements used to create a code and through out this course I was able to gain that knowledge and insight. It was an enjoyable and amazing experience. I learnt so many useful skills that makes developing a website much easier and simple. I personally cannot wait to learn more.😊

When you see the quality of the results you produce, you then understand how impactful the learning structure at SheCodes is. Every code and script is a stunner in achieving beautiful results and it is the teaching process that makes the difference. So easy to follow through and learn. I sleep on this trying to learn all the tricks with the help of all the resources and in the end, it is always so worth it. I am so excited to be making tremendous progress.
Wow! This was my first time integrating AI into an application and it was truly a great learning experience. The project was fun to build and I enjoyed this one the most so far. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get creative in the digital space.
This project has been great fun! I struggled a little bit in the first 4 weeks but the second half of the course I flew through in just a couple of days. I had so much fun doing this course and being able to play around with the design myself. Note to self I need to come up with some way better design ideas for the next project but I had fun playing with the colour palettes etc. I learnt so many new things in this project and I cant wait to take them into the next project.
I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow. But Matt Delac was great at explaining how to code in each video. Shecodes is really the best way to learn basic coding.

I have always wondered how coding is, and I must say, it is amazing. I have had such an amazing time with completing the homeworks and a project. I learnt so much.
This add-on gave me a bit more practise in using my coding skills. I feel this practise helped me a lot despite getting stuck a lot. I did truly got stuck on nearly every class, but having the support I had I realized that what made me stuck helping me improve more on my code and skills. This add-on forced me to venture out outside of the course to find my solutions when i'm stuck, and that is what life is, finding solutions in different places so I am glad to have gotten the practise I did. This is a huge mental game, it takes a lot to continue when you feel you have made many mistakes or when you feel you just might not be a good enough coder, but the satisfaction and feeling of getting to the end & finally learning that piece you were stuck on... can't beat that feeling. My biggest recommendation that I can give to others is no matter what, try your best, search on google, ask chatGPT, ask AI Athena and if you feel you haven't been able to figure it out, 100% ask the support group and you will always get help and shows where you need to improve your code. Even if it means you take a break and pick up your code the next day, don't overwork yourself, you will get there.
If you told me before that coding could be so easy, I wouldn't have believed you! Matt is an excellent teacher who makes it so easy to understand and to get started with coding. It's been a fun ride to learn the basics of coding and I can wait to learn more!

I’ve always been interested in computers since a very young age. During my undergraduate I had introduction to computer programming as one of my modules. In this module you only learn the basics of computers, but I must say this was one of my favourite modules. Learning about SheCodes Foundation on Tik tok recently, it gave me greater hope that actually I now learn about coding. I can boost the interest and curiosity that’s always been there.

I wanted to share with you a personal experience that includes the ups and downs of learning to code, a trip filled with hardship, tenacity, and inspiration at the end. The world of coding appeared intimidating to me when I initially started down this route because it was full of complicated algorithms and strange vocabulary. Every code line felt like a piece of a huge, complex mosaic, and I frequently struggled with self-doubt and irritation. But in the midst of the fight, I realized something important: resilience's beauty. I discovered that growth frequently results from uncomfortable situations, and I learnt to enjoy the process with every error message and setback. Therefore, I encourage everyone who is considering learning to code, regardless of experience level, to welcome the challenge because it is only through hardship that we actually mature. Keep in mind that every line of code you write is an evidence of your tenacity and resolve, and that the opportunities are endless if you persevere.
I have had a great time with SheCodes Basics! As a total novice, I am now obsessed with learning how to code. I had attempted various online classes in the past, but I quickly lost interest, became frustrated, and became bored, so I stopped soon after I started. Learning was enjoyable and I was able to set my own speed with SheCodes.
