This has been an extremely rewarding experience! The instruction that Matt provides is easy to follow and the challenges are set at an appropriate difficulty. I would recommend this program to anyone who has an interest in learning how to code!
I am so proud of myself for completing this workshop. If you would have told me this time last year that I would know how to code after 4 months, I would have thought you were crazy. I really believe I have found a new passion and I am excited to learn more.
This was my first class in 6 years so I was definitely worried I would struggle, but Matt made it so that I was actually relaxed and able to ENJOY myself while learning a completely new skill. This course gave me confidence and hope for a new career. I cannot wait to continue to the longest workshop. 🥰 Also, I work full-time and part-time, and I was still able to make it work. If you're even thinking about it, just commit!
I came to SheCodes after a careful analysis of everything the internet offered to learn coding. Matt and his method won me over: the course was pleasant, intense, and although there was so much to learn, the method used make simple topics perhaps complex for those who don't know anything about it. I would definitely do it again, and I feel I can recommend it to anyone looking for a guide to learning the beauty of coding!
I've learned about html and css in the past but this workshop really helped bring it all together. It was also a perfect introduction to javascript. Its motivating and fun to see what you can create after just a few hours!
After finishing the first SheCode workshop I couldn't wait to continue my coding journey! I love the concept of learning by doing which really makes things clearer and easier to understand. I have been enjoying my journey so far and I cannot wait to start with React :) Would recommend to a friend!
Matt is an excellent teacher. I found the coursework layout easy to process. The approach is (IMHO) the best way to learn anything: 1. Here is the demo. 2. Do it. 3. I've been having a pretty busy and challenging life, but SheCodes has made it possible for me to add coding to my habilities. I'm an undergraduate Biological Sciences student with the University of Maryland, College Park. I never thought learning code would be so fun...not easy though! Matt explains everything but you really need to commit. If you have a full time job as I, you may need to plan ahead. But for real the structure, the content and the homework is to the point, not to mention the exceptional support in Slack app. Thumbs up! 😁

Get out of your comfort zone, try something new and challenge yourself to learn the basics of front-end development. The classes are clearly structured and take you one step at a time through the logic of building a website. Thank you for this great course!

I will say this again, shecodes is a fantastic course. There is nothing quite like it. I have taken many coding courses in the past for school and none of them were as fun or effective as shecodes. Wow, in 2 weeks I learned more on JSS, CSS and HTML that I did in a year at high school. Can't wait to pursue this course.
I knew nothing about coding before taking this workshop, but the way it is set up is not intimidating at all! You can go at your own pace, and there is very little stress/pressure. It is all about learning the material. I feel so much more confident because of it, and I would highly recommend it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the SheCodes Workshops and I am glad I've signed up to them! I am a beginner when it comes to coding but I found the delivery was great and easy to understand. They were sectioned into bitesize tutorials with the right amount of learning, practice and challenges so that you do not feel completely overwhelmed or demotivated. What a great way to learn code - flexible, clear tutorials and great support when needed.
This has been an incredibly interesting and stimulating course, and I'm both surprised and proud to say that coding with JavaScript doesn't seem so scary anymore. Learning about professional workflow has also been really helpful. I'm really pleased with how far I've come since I started with SheCodes.
It's been a great course! I wouldn't have thought to learn so much already in only 3 weeks. Nor did I think that I would enjoy it so much but I did and I definitely want to continue my coding / programming journey. Thanks Matt & team! The explanations are very clear and they answer your questions really fast via Slack. Doing it on my own pace but still having deadlines in order not to keep pushing it forward is the right way for me to study. Keep up the great work SheCodes :)
If you're planning on learning React JS from zero, I'd totally recommend this workshop. Not only teach you some basic and essentials stuff to build a nice professional-looking app, but they also encourage your confidence to feel comfortable using React, which is not an easy subject to learn (at least for me). So thank you again, Matt and SheCodes team!

When I lost my job due to the pandemic, I saw opportunity to learn a new skill. A developer friend of mine always suggested I learn to code, so I took her advice and found SheCodes. I am amazed at how much I learned in such a short time! While I don't intend to pursue a career in software engineering, I am prodigiously proud of the skills I learned, and I know it has set me up to better communicate with developers I work with in the future.
This course has been an eye opener to what i am capable of doing. I have thoroughly enjoyed the first part of the course and eager to learn more from the next two courses.

I currently work as a language teacher. Due to the challenging situation of the past year, distance learning techniques and technologies included, I grew interested in the topic of coding. I am also an athlete, and my final project represents a way in which I could put coding skills in play to promote the sport I practice. I am generally a curious person and I like challenges, therefore, I took the opportunity SheCodes gave me. I am very impressed by the results, and I am considering coding as the key for a second career path.

I was initially a little apprehensive about how I would find the course because I was always under the impression coding was very difficult to learn from the outset, but I realize now that is just misinformation we sometimes hear! It was surprisingly easy to understand once broken down into manageable lessons and great teaching. I recommend this to everyone and say don't be put off or intimidated by the idea of coding. Learning JS was intimidating at first. Fortunately, Matt broke down the methods in baby steps to better concept the idea behind it. As a quick learner, I have to say; this was quite challenging. In the end, I'm starting to feel more confident in combining HTML, CSS, and JS.
This was a really smart, fun and easy way to learn. React is so much easier to work with than I first thought. I am looking forward to working with JavaScript and React in the future.
After finishing the beginner workshop I decided to continue with SheCodes Plus, in order to gain more knowledge and skills of the coding world. It was a very intense and also frustrating time, but I'm very happy about my decision. I still have a lot to learn and definitely need more time to understand what I'm doing, but I will happily continue with coding (now with the SheCodes React workshop) and see where it takes me in the future 🙂
SheCodes is just awesome for learning how to code. Practice coding is followed by videos. And then comes the weekly assignments. The teaching method in the videos is great!! It forces you to practice. And practicing or coding is the key to learn to code.
Once again I had a great experience with SheCodes ! This second workshop really is amazing and I had the opportunity to learn a lot.
I had always thought that Coding is not possible for everyone but only for experts from IT or Computer science. This workshop proved to me that it was wrong! I have learned so much throughout SheCodes such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, also it helped me to understand the basic concepts of coding even I have enrolled to the first level for 3 weeks. This was an excellent workshop with practical exercises and essential information that I can use in both my professional and personal life.

Matt is a talented instructor whose guidance and explanations are always on point, especially for absolute beginners. The classes and the workload expected are very well distributed over the three weeks, and this makes it easy to follow and be motivated to complete the workshop. I've particularly enjoyed the regular challenges, which were a great way to test my knowledge and progress over time. I genuinely cannot wait to keep learning with more advanced workshops!

SheCodes has been an amazing journey. I recommend SheCodes to everyone interested in coding but too scared to start. The course is designed for total beginners although it gets more complex as you make more lessons and challenges which makes it an exciting experience while learning.

After the 3 weeks workshop I got really excited about coding, and wanted to learn more. My SheCodes experience so far has been fantastic. It's the perfect mix of challenging, interesting and very well structured. Before SheCodes, I had tried to self teach myself Python several times, however I could never progress very far and I think the main reason is because I didn't have access to a community that supported one another nor a structured lesson plan to learn the concepts thoroughly. The SheCodes experience is well worth all the hard work and you're bound to find something you like about it. 100% recommend this program!
