I really didn't know anything about what "tech" is and essentially didn't know what coding was until this workshop, and now in just three weeks I feel like I have a solid foundation to base my future knowledge upon. The way Matt breaks down the content really helped my understanding and helped me gain confidence to begin coding and allowed me to realize it is actually fun! Now I know this is something I want to continue pursuing. Based on how much I learned, the flexibility of the course, and the cost, I would highly recommend this program for beginners!

I can not believe how much I learned in this program! I do wish there was more coding with JavaScript prior to this course because I was not at the level I needed to be at before beginning React, but I was still able to work my way through the course. I will miss these workshops so much but I can't thank Matt enough for creating this program. While I still have a lot more to learn, I feel leaps and bounds ahead of where I started 5 months ago. I completed the SheCodes React course and although the learning curve is steep, tutorials are clear and foundations from previous courses really show. Now that I've completed it, I feel confident enough to build projects on my own and pick up an extra language or 2. In this day and age a framework is really important, so I cannot recommend the React course enough!
Thank you Mat! It was amazing 2 weeks. It's really cool to feel like in students times again. Everything was good explained and all the examples were really helpful. I especially enjoyed making my final project. Can't believe I write it myself. Only week and a half passed and I can already do so many cool things with a CSS! And Java used to scare me a lot. I came in not knowing anything about coding. I'll admit some days were a challenge but I never gave up. This was so much fun, I can't lie. These past 3 weeks were truly incredible. I did not know anything about coding and I was able to learn so much step by step. The videos explained things very nicely and I never felt confused or uncertain. Practice and all is coming :)
SheCodes makes it easier to understand and practice code. I previously learned html/html5 and other coding languages through an app. While it was easy to understand, I never had the opportunity or even the right tools to practice and learn coding. No matter what style of learning you comprehend best; Matt teaches excellently to comprehend each point. Definitely worth the investment!
The course is basic, it is suitable for those who have never programmed at all. I liked the teacher and the short lessons followed by practice. Learned a few new things for myself. Highly recommend!
The SheCodes Basics Workshop has made coding a fun and easy skill to learn! I appreciate all of the lessons (and videos) that were created for this workshop. All of the steps were very clear throughout the lessons in each week.
I always thought coding would never be something I would be able to do, until I found SheCodes! I learn through seeing and doing, so having videos of Matt explaining what he's doing step by step was a huge help! I can now add my projects to my UI/UX portfolio, and apply my new understanding of coding to my work with developers.
Such a great time learning React! Makes me really appreciate how much work goes into every website I use. Excited to keep practicing what I've learned.

What a fantastic course! I struggle to learn and focus on one thing for an extended period of time (autism/adhd) and Matt teaches in such a way that I am engaged and really enjoying myself. I was a complete beginner before SheCodes and just working in schools/admin. So I have learnt so much from SheCodes Plus and I can't wait to move into the next section and new project.

I'm very passionate about STEM and that is why i have a medical diploma as a dental assistant. But now that I'm learning how to code, I'm gaining even more knowledge and I feel truly empowered.
This was the most complex workshop but also the most interesting one. I've learned a great amount about react and I hope to continue learning and improving. The workshop includes two projects and I'm really happy that I managed to finish both!
In truth, I initially enrolled in the course (SheCodes Basics) with a lot of skepticism about the capacity for an asynchronous, online course platform to be able to teach me something functional, as well as any sort of prospective for me to be able to take this new skill and make something out of it (and even potentially branching out into a new/evolved career). While I know I still have loads to learn, knowing that coding is a growing language that even experts who have been doing so for years still study and work on to improve their skills/language, I have become hopeful that this is, indeed, a field that I can actually get into, and continue to learn, expand, and explore rather than feel "stuck" in. Matt is a phenomenal teacher. I loved the way the learning platform was designed and each activity was scaffolded and chunked into smaller bits and gradually building up to a bigger project. I also loved how the final project allowed us to create what we were passionate about. (I definitely spent way too much time - WAY more than necessary ;) - to make every detail and design the way I wanted: with both information and knowledge gained from Matt's lessons, as well as searching on google on my own for things I actually wanted more of). After doing my final project and recognizing all the more that I could learn, I have decided to continue to learn, and maybe delve into some of the other advanced workshops offered through the program. Thanks so much, Matt, and everyone else on the team!
I honestly was not sure I would be able to learn coding. Ive watched videos on youtube just to be left feeling confused and defeated. This week after just 2 weeks of learning, I created my own webpage and I am so proud of myself.

This workshop was definitely challenging yet so much fun to learn what I did in over 8 weeks. I am very thankful to SheCodes team and Matt. This workshop has polished my coding experience compared to when I started SheCodes Basics. It has prompted me to be willing to learn more about JS and its "magic". I can say I am more confident since I am currently studying Information Systems at my university. This workshop has provided me such a valuable experience.

I'm glad I signed up for this workshop because I've been interested in coding, but now I know that it is something I would like to do. SheCodes is the first web development course I decided to take because I always wanted to learn how to build my own website. I really loved how the course was structured and how it motivated me to submit a homework every week and how it connected me with so many women, like me, learning how to code. Moreover, I loved Matt's way of explaining the course materials and I appreciated how he took his time to dissect difficult concepts. I truly enjoyed taking this course and I would definitely recommend it to every women wanting to learn more about web development and computer languages in general. We do need more women in STEM and SheCodes is helping us just do that :)

I enjoyed learning React. For some reason it reminds me of calculus but it was extremely helpful learning and doing ... i enjoyed that the most in building the weather and dictionary apps.

Coding is expained in a simple way, homeworks are fun and interesting, everyone can learn at their own pace and revise the content over and over again if necessary. The whole course has been very helpful.
Very fun and interactive. With this workshop you don't learn by listening or watching, you learn by DOING which is always the most effective. I have absolutely no background in any sort of computer knowledge and this course was extremely easy to understand and very entertaining. The way that Matt explains the concepts and rules is really easy to follow. This course honestly felt like I was playing a game the whole time. Would recommend to anyone.

Learning React was a lot of fun! Slowly but surely the course takes you through the set up, structure and functions, and all of a sudden you have created two applications. I highly recommend the course to anyone who would like to get a React certification!
