SheCodes has blown all of my expectations out of the water! As someone who has never coded a day in her life, I found the lessons to be straightforward and easy to follow along. The challenges and homework really helped me to cement my knowledge and to build upon each new concept. Furthermore, the deadlines helped me to stay on track with my coding lessons by providing structure to my already busy life. As a Web Developer, I was seeking to brush up on some skills, especially JavaScript. I wanted to see how the course was presented and taught before moving on to the other courses. So I started with the SheCodes Basic workshop. Matt is an amazing instructor. The course is presented in bite-sized chunks so you don't get overwhelmed. It leaves out all the bloat found in other online and classroom courses. It is a great course for anyone wanting to see if coding is for them. The Slack channel offers assistance when you need it. Overall, I am very pleased and will be recommending SheCodes to others.

Was it easy, nope it wasn't but it was simplified for anyone to understand and the good news is that when stuck, the team comes to your rescue. We have a wonderful instructor in Matt and a wonderful team in SheCodes without which I am not sure I would have been able to do this as other coding lessons made coding too complicated but here I am today enjoying coding with SheCodes. I am glad on the new path I have chosen, it is something I enjoyed doing and I will do it over and over again I want to use this opportunity to encourage every female out there who wants to code but is scared, don't be scared anymore, SheCodes got you covered, if I can, then you can.
The workshop for beginners is really beginners-friendly! All lessons are short, good structured and easy to understand. The instructor is supporting and always encourages you to explore a subject, discover different ways of solving the same situation and not to be afraid of making mistake which keeps you motivated a lot. I have already recomened the workshop to my friends and I'm sure I will do it again!

I didn't imagine that coding is something that I could ever learn; I have always thought that it is a very complicated subject and only those good in math or "engineers" can understand it. But as I started the lessons I began to see that it can be an interesting and fun experience. SheCodes lessons were divided into a few minutes per topic so the student wouldn’t be overwhelmed. There were challenges at the end of each lesson so it served as a review and to practice what I understood about the topic. Matt is also a great instructor; he was able to explain things very well, in a simple and clear manner. I found myself looking forward to watching each lesson! And to the amazing support of the SheCodes team, where you can readily ask for help in case you get stuck on the assignments that you are working on. I've been interested in learning how to code for some time and found free courses online but the issue with those is that it's very hard to be motivated. This workshop is different as all the videos are not only very informative but very easy to follow. Each video has a challenge which makes you put your skills to practice and I've enjoyed every single one of them. Also, Matt's a great instructor and I highly recommend this workshop.
I've had such a great time taking this course and will continue to complete more workshops. What makes SheCodes special is that they take the time to explain why things function, and what the intentions are behind the code. I've attempted to take other courses that often lacked the understanding of how to explain the steps of why things are done. Instead, those courses often presented sterile explanations of what is being done on a screen. Matt is an excellent instructor, and his method of teaching actually helps you learn, not just memorize.
The Beginners Workshop was a great course! The pace wasn't too fast or too slow. I learned quite a bit because Matt was a great instructor! I highly recommend this course for anyone starting out or maybe even a refresher if it's been a while.

I wanted a new challenge in my life and career, as well as a way to flex my creative muscles in a different way. I tried other coding training programs but was left fending for myself if I needed to debug code. However, the Slack component to SheCodes has been a game-changer: I can get support from instructors and students alike! This is the first page I've been able to build from start to finish, and am confident my progression through the full SheCodes slate of programs will give me the skills I need to make the switch to a career in the tech industry!

Mat is a brilliant instructor! I can't emphasize that enough. But I have to say that React is really challenging so prepare yourself for a lot of hardwork. I suggest everyone deepen their knowledge in JavaScript before starting this course.
The instructor explains things in a way that really helps you understand what is going on. For a moment you are freaking out like, oh that sounds confusing but then he tells you to hold on, and uses some sort of metaphor to help explain it. I learned some things that I didn't quite understand before.
This course was super challenging, but it was really exciting and lots of fun! I love that this course allows its students to complete coursework according to their own availability each week, while also having weekly assignments and projects that help keep you accountable and on-track. It offers a great level of flexibility, but also provides structure at the same time which I really appreciate as a working professional. I also really enjoy being a part of the SheCodes community. With each course, you have the ability to interact with other students who are learning the same things as you and instructors who are there to help and answer questions along the way.

I never knew my MySpace days we were coding, using html & css to beautify our pages; I didn’t even know this was considered coding until 2019 when I seen it on TikTok! I’m so proud of myself 🥹! I was really glad that the lessons are in "bite sized" pieces because as a beginner there were lots of videos I had to rewatch to fully absorb the information. I really like that SheCodes Instructor Matt also shows you how to find other solutions and resources online.
I really enjoyed this course. I find there are a lot of courses or tutorials out there that say for complete beginners, but they are sometimes hard to follow. In part because some instructors assume you know the technical things they are doing (e.g., using keyboard shortcuts). I like the way Matt teaches subjects but I find he also teaches you how to think like a developer and learn how to find the resources that are needed to feel confident from the start.
I am very excited and incredibly proud of myself for completing the full SheCodes workshop. It was very interesting, challenging and Matt is a brilliant instructor. Few years ago I took courses on JavaScript but it didn't really click. It's when I started SheCodes workshops I was fascinated and eager to learn. I couldn't have imagined I would end up here, excited to learn and have fun coding. I had watched videos and tried coding courses but it did not work out well for me because it was poorly explained and extremely confusing. I have learned so much just from SheCodes basics workshop, that completing that final project felt like a huge accomplishment. The instructor Matt, has done an amazing job putting these lessons together.
