Matt is a great instructor! The coding challenges and homework are super fun. I loved the freedom of the final project, and found the entire process highly enjoyable!
Very good intro to coding for total beginners. Lessons are very well explained. I enjoyed all the challenges and homework and final project.
The course was to a certain extent useful and I learned something new. A lot of technologies were covered, videos were short but informative that allowed me not to lose concentration. Also I liked the idea with the cheat sheets available on the web site. At the same time, I’d like to mention the following drawbacks: - there is a gap between the course program and the course content itself, which led me to hope for more than was actually given. For instance, ‘SheCodes Plus’ program mentions ‘Advanced Javascript’, while in practice we only scratched the surface. - I had a feeling that some information was repeated again and again instead of new topics being covered. - homework feedback provided was hardly useful: “Your solution is valid! Good job” is not an informative one. I would rather want to hear more on practices I used and my code style. - given all of the above, I believe the course is a bit overpriced
I'm beyond thrilled with Matt and the entire SheCodes Team! Due to the Slack Community I never felt alone and I'm impressed with the amount of support I had at my fingertips! The small homework assignments kept me engaged and looking forward to learning more. 10/10 would recommend this course for any woman trying to learn Web Development skills.
In less than 3 weeks I managed to transition from a total beginner to being able to create a landing page from scratch. I found the course was well-paced and every unit was building directly on the previous one. The challenges reinforced the knowledge gained while the homework and project made it very practical and hands-on.
I really loved my time studying with SheCodes. The homework portions of each module were really enjoyable, getting the feedback email each week when you had successfully completed the task was very motivating and even if we were to fail getting feedback about what we could improve or have done differently is refreshing.

SheCodes Plus was a great workshop that expanded on the HTML, CSS and Javascript skills of the Basics workshops. This course was definitely more difficult and challenging then the Basic one but more fun at the same time. There were few challenges and homeworks that I had difficulties with but overall it was a great experience. The Slack channel also helped a lot, to find inspiration or help. I am extremely happy and satisfied, cannot wait to start the next course :)

I just finished the SheCodes Plus workshop and it was such a great experience. I learned so much from this course and I really love the way the lessons are laid out. They are clear and easy to follow and there is always support when you need it. I also love that there are weekly homework deadlines to try and meet, in order to help keep you accountable, but there is also a lot of flexibility if you need it (which, as a mom of a toddler, is essential!). The flexibility to be able to ask for extensions when you need them, to me, shows that SheCodes really takes into consideration the different lifestyles/schedules that each individual has. Before SheCodes, I had absolutely no knowledge of coding, but as soon I joined I felt very welcomed and instantly became a part of this community of amazing women around the world with shared dreams and ambitions of learning to code. Being a part of this supportive community, especially for a complete beginner like me, has given me a lot of confidence and inspiration to continue my coding journey.

I signed up to SheCodes with zero coding knowledge and now I enjoy coding so much! The lessons were detailed and structured, I am sure you won't get lost in it, and I could replay the instruction videos at anytime. The challenges and homeworks are also helpful, they are a tool to get a better understanding of the materials. A tip: don't skip watching the instruction videos, and look on the bottom page of each lessons - some great and valuable tips are often there.
I really liked the program. I think it is well-structured, and goes from zero to more advanced content, connecting topics to understand better the goal of each one, and as a whole. Not only that, but I had fun doing the homework and the final project.

I was very excited to start this course and it did not disappoint! The lessons are easy to follow and less than ten minutes each so you do not feel overwhelmed with information and most lessons have a challenge to try out what you have just learned. You are very cool. The only thing I didn't like a little was that the first week's homework required using the element for three squares when hovering. We were not taught how to do this, and I tried to do it in known ways for a very long time. I tried to combine the elements in a clever way. And here is just a function that we did not learn.

SheCodes Responsive was so much fun. I had fun doing every lesson, challenge and homework. It was particularly exciting opening a website on my phone and see that I made it responsive. Will definitely be using the knowledge acquired here on every other website I code.
It was a great experience to start learning coding with this course! SheCodes basics was a freshening reminder of the little coding knowledge I had. The way Matt explains things so directly and understandably, with technical but also, very understandable and non-technical explanations, just eased this right in for me. I had a bit of a harder time because of the little time I had to work on this, but as the course progressed, my passion for each challenge and homework increased, until I decided to be creative and have fun with my project as well. It was a challenge, trying to figure out how to exactly turn my idea to life, and I was able to! :) The help of all the tutors, the guide of Matt, and the realization that this is something I want to do from now on led me here, and I wouldn't change it for a thing. I can't believe it but I actually coded an entire webpage! Every now and then I need to build a landing page for my job and while we use templates and software to help with the heavy lifting, understanding the basics of HTML and CSS has made my life so much easier... Especially when I want to make a simple tweak like adjusting an image size. The course is broken down into comprehensive bite-sized chunks. Solutions and examples really helped me along in practicing and completing homework assignments. I really like that Matt has created practical tools, and encourages us to be self-sufficient in solving problems by pointing us to helpful resources. Highly recommended for anyone in digital marketing, or has a website!

Awesome introduction to React! It was great fun rebuilding the weather Application with React this time and learned so much about the React framework in the process. I started this studding because of the war in Ukraine. It is an easy to do a lot of homework every day when your internet connection not so good and you don’t have enough electricity in your city, but it is very helpful. Now I know how coding is working and that is not so easy, but really possible for everyone and not only for boys)
This workshop took me almost 3 months . I had times that my head was exploding because of lots of new things that Matt had been teaching. Some weeks I extended my deadlines, because I wanted to really learn everything and do my best for homeworks. I really liked the course! The only two things I'd personally like to see are: 1 - consistency in what's taught in the video vs what's in the assignment. A lot of the things we're supposed to do for homework wasn't taught in the video, or was taught another way, and the answer we're given is to just "google it." I know, but if we're spending $$$ on this course, this info should also be given to us on a foundational level so we know what to google in the first place, and 2 - I'd love to see more "practice projects" that we can do that aren't necessarily graded, but we can maybe submit in a different slack channel for our peers to weigh in.
I've learned so much and had so much fun doing the homework and project. I can't wait to start on the other lessons.

Way better than I expected! I already knew a few basics of HTML but this definitely helped me understand so much more. The homework got harder each time so it was really nice and challenging. I'll be considering the other courses!
This work shop has been a challenging one. Starting with how to start using React and deploying it, and then to changing a bit of the ways you code. I had to keep reminding myself of when we are using React and when to use JSX. Luckily the videos and the SheCodes staff through Slack has been a life saver! I recommend the work shops because of the helpful explanations on why the codes work this way and not that way, and the homework and challenges will keep you on track.

This workshop is really fun and challenging. I gained a lot of knowledge and was able to learn how to code at my own pace. I love how I was able to get extensions when on the homework when I felt I wasn't getting the material. These extensions help me with not feeling pressured or rushed to know how to code and I was able to produce an accurately working application.
A great way to get started with the basics of coding and play around with basic webpage design! Having to submit homework regularly keeps you engaged.
Best beginners workshop ever! I truly enjoyed every minute of this journey, and even though I did come across some challenges, the manner in which this workshop is structured made overcoming those challenges very easy. The entire experience was wonderful. I was able to apply what I had learned to the challenges, and when I ran into problems, I would refer back to the videos. If I still couldn't figure out the problem, the question had probably already been asked on Slack, which was very useful. I also appreciated how quickly they provided feedback on the homework and pointed out your errors. The feedback, as well as having other students inquire what I was struggling with, made the experience less frightening and increased my interest.

I have always been so scared of coding, it looks so intense. SheCodes made coding not only fun but easy to understand. I found myself so excited to get to the next lesson and learn more. Matt does an amazing job explaining and breaking down all of the areas you need to code successfully. I do not think I have ever taken a course where the homework didn't feel like homework! With SheCodes the weekly homework assignments just added to the experience. The final project was so much fun to piece together. There were definitely moments I got stuck but Matt is an excellent teacher and prepares you with all of the tools you will need to hand in a successful project! I truly enjoyed the course in its entirety.

I really liked the SheCodes workshop. Matt kept the lessons easy to understand. He was a great instructor. I also liked that you had always a homework to submit because that keeps you practicing. I once needed help with something and I asked for help on Slack within an hour or so I got an response it was really helpful. The Slack community is great. I think SheCodes is really great for absolute beginners and I would highly recommend it. Before SheCodes I knew completly nothing about coding and now I understand how it works and I want to learn more.

Great workshop! I finished the three week class in less than a week because I was having fun solving the puzzles and learning something new. It was a bit addictive to be honest. 😊 The pace of the class was perfect. Matt gave us enough information without going too slowly and the homework was challenging without being overwhelming.

I was really busy during the time period of the workshop and had to do most of the challenges and homework last minute, but the explanation was so detailed that I did not struggle as much as I taught I would.
