Hello, I'm Ann Kamanu. As an accountant turned web designer, I've embarked on an exciting journey to blend my financial acumen with the world of web design. My web design adventure began earlier this year when I took part in the inspiring workshops offered by SheCodes. Since then, I've been passionately crafting digital experiences that seamlessly merge form and function.
I enjoyed every minute of the SheCodes Basics workshop! I love Matt's teaching style. I learned while having fun and even laughing sometimes. I loved that there are challenges after most of the teaching videos. This is the best teaching style for me. You implement what you learn. I also like that it is self-paced although there is a deadline for submitting the weekly homeworks and the final project. This is good for me too because I need to be able to learn on my own time but I also need that little push to stay on track. Can't wait to start with the SheCodes Plus workshop!
I loved this course. I have learnt from scratch, it is challenging but I have had a lot of fun!
I still find JavaScript hard at times, especially understanding functions. Matt does make things as easy to understand as possible. I am pleased with my world clock. Thank you, Matt and the SheCodes team.
This Basics Add-On was SUPER FUN to do! I can see how much progress I've made because, although I'm working on my code writing to be more intuitive, I was able to follow along quicker and easier than I did in my first three weeks. I really like flexing my design muscles in CSS!
this is a course that make participants familiar with front-end coding.The focus of it is on HTML and CSS but I've learned some basic codes and concepts of JavaScripts. I wish the course was more elaborated with some details. Also it would be useful that fundamental concepts(like variable scope) were explained. Excellent point of the course is weekly home works which engage us to what we learned. Thanks a lot Shecodes and specially Matt.
It was an intensive 3 weeks, but I feel much more confident about my coding skills and learning how it works. It provided me a sense of accountability, but also, I was having fun!

I really enjoyed doing the SheCodes Basics workshop. It helped me realize that I really like coding and that I do have a future in it. It's true that sometimes it's a bit frustrating but at the end of the day you have fun in the process and you are happy with your result. Right now I'm applying to universities and this course made me realize that I don't only want to study design but I want to combine it with some software programming like computer science, animation and videogame engineering and digital design. My final project was a web page where I wrote my college admissions essay and that way I could show them my skills. :))))
It was a nice workshop to help me improve my CSS and refresh the skills learned from SheCodes Basic. The final project was also very fun to make!

These two weeks clarified some doubts & concerns I had after the SheCodes Plus course. At the same time, I gained some new skills & learned a couple of more tricks. I'm impressed by how fast I went from nothing to a fully functional world clock app! Thank you Matt & the Team for your hard work :)

I've been trying to grasp coding for a couple of months but kept getting stuck with no idea how to find answers to my questions. I love this format where not only are we taught how to look up answers for ourselves, but if we can't figure it out there's a chat with classmates as well as an entire walkthrough of the problem. It's also super fun!

I've loved the SheCodes Plus course, it's been fun, challenging and really hands on. I've loved going back through my code and adding and changing things as a I learn more with each lesson, feeling easeful in some areas and stretched and challenged in others. It's been a great few weeks.

SheCodes Basics workshop has been an increidibly step to set a strong base for what's next on my coding journey. It's a great methodology for busy women, as we're able to work it out on our own pace with fun challenges and projects ! Shecodes is such a fun-to-use and easy-to-follow learning platform! I learnt so much and i will cherish the knowledge forever.
I postponed this assignment twice! I wanted to submit it when my vision for it was complete. While figuring it out and brainstorming I developed some skills and some techniques that I didnt know about and didnt think I could do. I had some oh my gosh moments, some excited moments, some ok girl you've got this moments, and most of all I had fun doing it. I am very satisfied with my end results. Matt I'm forever grateful for being apart of this platform and having you as an instructor. Thank You!!!!❤️
SheCodes was such a fun experience for me! I just moved to a new country recently and had some complications that resulted in me only being allowed to study in January of 2024. SheCodes has been a great opportunity for me to still be able to study and learn while waiting for college to start. The videos and exercises are easy to understand, it is so easy to ask questions and I love that there are deadlines. They really helped me to stay focused during the course. The basics course is great for people like myself who never tried this before and wanted to discover if this is something I would be interested in doing in the future.
SheCodes has been really motivating, supportive, and fun for my beginners coding journey. I really like that there are constant challenges and a network of cohorts and support team to help you with any questions or problems along the way.
The longer you code the easier it gets and it starts to become second nature. It's fun to see your progress come full circle.
Time to get a crazy coder! XD I learned very nice and new features to make a website look more beautiful, among some with which - I can order images on a website nicely in different possitions (called grid) - I can spin images and texts around and can decide how fast I want them to spin.🤠 - I can put images in crazy positions.😆 - And I can change the settings of a website to a darker mode (or other color mode if you want). :) These are some of the features I learned at the workshop. 😄 This was another very educational, nice and fun workshop! 🤓🥳

This boot camp made learning to code really a lot of fun. I enjoyed the fact that I could do my work anytime from anywhere, the challenges where hard at times but I always had that support on Slack if I needed it. The things I have learnt during these 3 weeks have helped me build a foundation of my knowledge of coding and I will be back for the Plus package so Thank you SheCodes and I shall return soon.👩💻

I recently completed the SheCodes Plus workshop, and I cannot express how transformative this experience has been for me. The workshop was incredibly well-structured, with a perfect balance of theoretical learning and hands-on coding exercises. One of the highlights of my SheCodes Plus journey was creating a weather application. This project was the culmination of everything I had learned throughout the workshop. The Add-on project was a bit more time consuming, and challenging than the Basics project. Comparing the two landing pages though, I think the benefit of taking this workshop is clear. I was able to create a much more aesthetically pleasing/put together landing page, and would 100% recommend everyone take this opportunity to build upon the fundamentals previously learned.
I cannot believe how much fun I am having with this! Going from never coded a single line in my life to actually creating websites and apps! I cannot thank you enough for this!! Keep doing the amazing work you are all doing at Shecodes, I am super excited to be part of the shecodes family but also a future woman in tech!!
I never expected that the course would get more exciting than the basics. I expected it to be difficult and challenging but not as much fun as I had. I cannot forget the stressful nights when the code would not work 😰 and the excitement of finally getting it right! I'm eternally grateful to the SheCodes Foundation for giving me this opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream. I hope to continue learning and growing my coding skills.

I admire how organized were all the lessons. It was easy to follow the instructor & the written instructions whilst having lots of fun. Whenever I am learning something, the biggest obstacle is to overcome my resistance, if the course is boring. In this scenario, however I was very excited for each upcoming part. The visual learner in me was pleased.
Hi, I'm Fernanda and I was very happy to take this responsive course, we learned a lot, especially on how to make more beautiful and functional websites, in a very professional way. Now I've started to observe other websites from a different point of view. I really enjoyed doing the final project, we understood once again that we are capable of anything, with God, support from our family and persistence.
I started the basic workshop and it was super exciting to find out how fun coding is! I'm interested about learning more and now I'm upgrading to the more advanced workshops!
