It has been an amazing experience to learn the basic coding principles during this workshop. Everything is really well explained, in small steps and very visual, so you can follow easily, even as an absolute beginner. Working on the final project has been fun, especially solving the challenges that appeared along the way of its development. It is encouraging to see what you can learn in just 3 weeks!

I have taken quite a number of courses but struggled with understanding and completing them. With SheCodes I had a different experience, our Tutor Matt made it so easy to understand all the concepts and I never had to battle with imposter syndrome like I did in the previous courses I took. I had a feeling I could understand all the concepts and I did, let’s not even talk about the lovely choice of colors that the SheCodes website has that is alluring and just makes you always want to visit at the thought of it. I am a microbiologist and after the COVID19 pandemic started to wear down I noticed I did not want my whole life to be spent working in a lab. Having this amazing opportunity to increase my skills and be able to push myself to new environments has change completely my mindset. Attending the SheCodes workshop has been an amazing experience me, where I got to learn the fundamentals of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The course exceeded my expectations in every way. Before starting React, I thought I would face a very challenging coding journey and complicated codes. While learning it with Matt, I found it very enjoyable. Each part is explained in the most simple way so that you can grasp the point immediately. She Codes PLUS was so challenging yet, so rewarding. What a great way to learn, be creative and deep diving into the foundational heart of UI coding. I enjoyed this course more than the BASICS as there was so much learnt. It's amazing how much you can learn in such a short amount of time! The layout of the lessons were perfect for me as I struggle to pay attention for long periods of time when learning, so the short chunks were easily digestible and it didn't feel too overwhelming. Just because it has 'basic' in the name doesn't mean it's easy! There were definitely a couple of moments where my brain was frazzled but I found it so enjoyable overall.
I wanted to learn how to code just to give me more skillset as a UX designer. I've tried learning on my own and that didn't work, due to just all the information out there without guidance on where to start. I came across SheCodes and I am so glad that I did because it truly is amazing with teaching the basics of coding. Not only is it enjoyable, but it is in a way that is really easy to understand and it has sparked my interest to continue to practice my new skillset!

I started the coding workshop with no coding experience. At the beginning, it felt a bit overwhelming but having Matt as a teacher was really amazing. He always motivated us to try our best and simplified the coding languages for us. I love challenging myself and this was a good way of doing so while gaining a new skill set.

I just completed SheCodes Plus and it was amazing. The first workshop was great too, but a bit of general "information overload" whereas the Plus workshop is where it all came together for me. The foundation that was set in the Introduction to Coding was vital - as without that basis this workshop would have been very, very difficult. As a non-engineer member of an IT team, my whole objective was to familiarize myself with the basics of the technologies that my team members use everyday; and now, not only do I feel more confident when communicating with my team, but I also have discovered a new passion -- for coding!
