A popular urban legend claims that the city is named after its founder. The first settlement — a wintering house — was founded in this area by a Kryvyi-Cossack named Rig. Also known is the Cossack Ivan Zhdan-Rig, who was the chieftain of Zaporizhzhya Sich in the 60s and 70s of the 17th century. The registers of Zaporizhzhya Kosh mention the Kryvyi Rih tract even before the establishment of a permanent settlement. Flower clock
Kryvyi Rih's flower clock is the largest in the world. During the day, every hour is accompanied by a melodious bell, and at night, the clock is illuminated by hundreds of flashlights.
The boat station
One of the symbols of the city is the boat station. Its location at the confluence of two rivers adds a special landscape and it is perfectly visible from all sides.
Botanical Garden
The garden preserves a unique collection of endangered plants. There are more than 600 species of tree and shrub species of plants, including more than 60 species of plants listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, and about 40 specimens that are protected by the World and European Red Lists.
Theater "Academy of Movement"
The only musical and plastic arts theater in Ukraine. The peculiarity of the "Academy of Movement" theater is the absence of conversations in the productions. You will not hear a word at the performances. But you will feel all the skill of the actors, which will be manifested in the harmonious interweaving of pantomime, music and dance.

A sunken quarry with a blue coast is a real find for people who love extreme recreation.
