Don't look away from the war
Russia has started the largest war in Europe after WWII and is committing war crimes against Ukraine every day. But it’s not just Ukrainians on the battlefield. In the modern world, everyone and everything will be affected by this war.Why does it matter to the world?
- Russia’s war against Ukraine will wipe $2.8 trillion off the global economy (equivalent to the GDP of France).
- The war is pushing prices for food and energy worldwide.
- This will further decrease economic growth and boost inflation, plunging many EU countries into recession.
Life goes on even during the war. In the basements and subway stations in Kyiv (that were made to shelters during the russian missiles) babies are being born, lessons are being given to the school students, and Ukrainians are signing traditional songs to keep morale up. 😎
