Early Life, Education and Influences Adele Laurie Blue Adkins was born on May 5, 1988, in North London, England. She is a British singer-songwriter who has sold millions of albums worldwide and won a total of 15 Grammys as well as an Oscar.
In 2009, Adele was largely ignored by photogs at the Grammy Awards, but she made a splash when she sang onstage — in bare feet!
Adele played the clarinet as a teen. She attended a performing arts school called the Brit School.
She writes all her lyrics in a notebook with her age in Sharpie on the cover.
Some of her favorite designers include Burberry, Armani, Valentino, and Chloé.
It takes Adele’s team about two and a half hours to get her stage-ready, with painstaking makeup and hair styling sessions.
Adele taught herself to cook when her mother went on holiday to Italy before 21 came out.
