Lucas

also known as "Lukinhas", "Faísca", "MaLucas"or when you want to play, just start counting... one...two.. and on three you already can see him!!!!!

Born on December 12, 2013, Lucas is the sweetest dog.
We don't know his breed but we sure know he is fast and always ready to play! 💨 Loves to walk outside and no other dog intimidate him! He is a "lonely wolf"! His favourite place is by our side. Makes such a sad face when we have leave him alone, even for a second. However, if you offer him food, you are already besties! 😝

Mel

also known as "Melocas", "Melania", "Meluca" or she when turns into a little demon: MEEEEEEEEEL!!!!!

Born on November 6, 2020, Mel is the cutest french bulldog in the whole world (at least mine). Look at this smile! 🥰 She is happy to be by our side all the time, and let us do crazy this like dress her as minnie. Looking amazing or not?! Like Lucas, loves to walk outside but bark to every other dog but just to tell them that she is here to play! Her favourite place is on this green puff - she could spend the whole day sleeping there... It's like she is not even home 😅

Let's teach our friends some tricks? 🫣

Shake hands

"Shake hands (or a paw shake!) is a popular dog trick and is usually the first trick most people teach their dogs. This is an easy trick to teach and most dogs pick it up really quickly."

Play dead

"Playing dead or getting your dog to lie still on its side is another crowd favourite. If you are not a fan of guns, you can always use the cue ‘boo’ and pretend to be scaring your dog into a fainting position for this dog trick instead."

Roll over

"Teaching your dog to roll over can be challenging for some dog more than others. It requires a high level of trust from your dog because rolling on to their back is a vulnerable position for a dog. So make sure you practise in a calm and safe environment and take your time with this dog trick."

Catch a treat

"This trick is a fun way to bond with your dog. Some dogs will catch a treat naturally, while others might need some extra lessons. Teaching your dog how to catch a treat is also a great way to train your dog to maintain focus on you in the face of distractions."

Remember, you must be patient and have lots of fun! 🙌

Actually, did you know that...

  • Dogs can smell up to 100,000 times better than humans.
  • Dogs noses are so unique that no two are alike, just like human fingerprints.
  • A Dog’s sense of hearing is 10 times more acute than ours.
  • Dogs can detect human emotions by reading facial expressions and body language.
  • Dogs dream just like humans do, and they even twitch and make noises while they sleep.
  • Some breeds of dogs, such as the Basenji, do not bark, but instead make a yodeling sound.
  • The life expectancy of a dog is between 10 and 13 years depending on breed, size, and lifestyle.
  • The most popular breed of dog in the U.S. is the Labrador Retriever.
  • The smallest breed of dog is the Chihuahua.
  • It is believed that dogs have been domesticated for over 15,000 years.

Frenchie lover? Let's get to know them better.

"In the mid-1800s, a toy-size Bulldog found favor in some English cities, including Nottingham, then a center for lace making. The toy Bulldog became something of a mascot for Nottingham’s lace makers. This was the height of the Industrial Revolution in England, and such “cottage industries” as lace making were increasingly threatened. Many in the lace trade relocated to northern France, and of course, they brought their toy Bulldogs with them. The little dogs became popular in the French countryside where lace makers settled. Over a span of decades, the toy Bulldogs were crossed with other breeds, perhaps terriers and Pugs, and, along the way, developed their now-famous bat ears. They were given the name Bouledogue Français. Paris eventually discovered the delightful new breed, and thus began the Frenchie’s reputation as city dog par excellence. The breed came to be associated with Paris café life, and with the bon vivants and fancy ladies who sought nocturnal pleasures in Parisian dancehalls. Edgar Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec depicted the Frenchie in paintings of the Paris demimonde. By the end of the 19th century, the Frenchie’s popularity had spread across Europe and to America. The breed was tougher sell in England. The Bulldog was a national symbol, and it rankled many Englishmen that their age-old rivals, the French, would dare adapt it to their purposes. American devotees of the early 1900s contributed to the breed by insisting that the bat ear, as opposed to the “rose ear,” was the correct Frenchie type. It is by this distinctive feature that the Frenchie is instantly recognizable the world over." - American Kennel Club

In love with pets in general?
Adopt a shelter one!

We adopt both M&L and encourage you to do the same!

"Holiday commercials and viral videos make it seem like it must be a great idea to shove an animal wearing a big red bow under a Christmas tree while heartwarming music plays in the background. PETA’s new video strikes back against this very bad idea and shows the heartbreaking reason why you should never give animals as gifts.By January, many of those “present” animals will have joined the more than 6 million who enter shelters in the U.S. every year. Some animal shelters even get in on the craze, offering discounted or free adoptions and encouraging people to give animals away as gifts. Their intentions may be good, but they likely don’t realize that they’re exacerbating the homeless-animal crisis. First, the holidays are the absolute worst time to bring a new animal into your home. Even normally quiet homes are often filled with people talking and laughing, kids playing with noisy new toys and games, music playing, doorbells ringing, and more. A house filled with strangers coming and going and loud noises is frightening even for the animals who already live there—and much more so for a timid newcomer. Also, during the holiday season, many things that can harm animals are often left within easy reach, including ribbons, ornaments, electrical cords, and sweets as well as other foods and drinks. And people don’t always have the time to give newly acquired animals the attention and care that they require." - PETA

With this is easy to imagine a magical land full of happy dogs.

Every night, the sky was lit up by a million stars, and the air was full of the sound of barking. Dogs of all shapes, sizes, and colors roamed the land, and each one of them was unique and special in their own way. The dogs had the freedom to explore the land, and they often took advantage of this privilege. They would run and play in the fields, swim in the rivers, and climb the mountains. They would explore caves and forests and make new friends wherever they went. The land was a paradise for the dogs, and they were content and happy. They never had to worry about being hurt or mistreated, as the land was so full of love and acceptance. They lived in harmony with the other creatures, and they were all respected and honored. The magical land of dogs was a place of joy and peace, and it was a place that many people visited in order to escape their troubles and find solace. No matter what happened in the outside world, the dogs and the land remained unchanged and untouched.

Although this is an imaginary one, you can try to provide this to your forever friend!
