My CBT journey
Obtaining my CBT certificate was a major milestone on my journey
to becoming a motorbike rider.
After dreaming about riding for ages, I finally decided to go
for it and signed up for training. The process wasn’t a walk in
the park; it challenged my focus and determination like never
before.
But when I finally got my certificate, I felt an incredible rush
of accomplishment! It proved to me that I could achieve what I
set my mind to. Now, I’m excited to take the next step and work
towards my full motorcycle licence—bring on the open road!
What is CBT?
The CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) is a one-day course in the United Kingdom that ensures new riders understand road safety, bike control, and essential skills for riding a motorbike. Upon successful completion, the DL196 certificate is awarded and allows to ride on public roads for two years (with an L plate) on motorbikes up to 125cc.
