SheCodes Plus has come to an end and I obtained my Web Development Certificate🎉 To be honest it was such a great adventure and throughout these past 8 weeks, I’ve experienced different feelings. Sometimes I was exhausted and confused and other times I had unbelievable happiness and confidence for completing a challenging task in the right manner. All in all, I’ve enjoyed every step of this journey of building my own weather app. And last but not least, I want to express my gratitude to amazing Matthieu Delac for your awesome way of teaching, and also to João Lopes, Bruno Torres, and all the other incredible members of the SheCodes team for supporting me relentlessly. Learning basic coding has been an eye-opening journey for me. Starting from scratch, I gradually unlocked the world of logic and problem-solving that coding offers. With each line of code, I gained the power to create and innovate. It's like a new language that empowers me to interact with technology in ways I never thought possible. While the journey had its challenges, the sense of accomplishment from making a program work is incredibly rewarding. Basic coding has not only expanded my skill set but also my perspective on what I can achieve. I'm excited to continue this journey and see where my newfound coding skills will take me next.

This workshop was sooo exciting! I can’t believe how much I have learned in the last weeks… Although it was harder than expected… I took me longer than planned since I am a mom of two under 5, and you know… life happens…there were days that I’ve ended up sleeping at 3am, so I can code in peace and quiet … But I was so hooked to coding, (and sometimes I’ve got frustrated since I have zero background on coding)… right now I can say that I have built a functional app all from scratch… I just want to keep learning more and more… and see where this coding journey would take me. Thank you to the staff of she codes that always had the patience to help every time I reached to them!! And thank you, Matt … your classes are the best!

The dictionary project is a fun project overall. However, I found a notable issue with the integration of the Pexels API for image display. It seems this part of the workshop is significantly outdated, going by the oldest Slack messages, which date back about two months (as far as I could find). Despite API changes and a different authorization process, the lesson continues to rely on the outdated method. Surprisingly, the project's GitHub repository hasn't seen any updates for an entire year. Mind you, the lesson in question is only 30 minutes long. Inquiries on Slack about these concerns received a canned response stating that the Pexels API underwent recent changes. This led to the existing setup being dysfunctional, without an updated lesson. Instead, a new Images API was suggested as a replacement when asking for help in the Slack messenger. I believe a notice within the lesson itself about the changed API integration would be appropriate. Other lessons have included such notices before, so it's puzzling why it's missing here. This could save others from unnecessary frustration when grappling with a broken method. To those taking on this project, be prepared for potential roadblocks due to this outdated API setup. It's disappointing that such a significant flaw hasn't been addressed more proactively.
I thought coding would be hard but the workshop explains everything so well and it makes it so easy. In only two weeks I can create a website. I already know html, css and java script, I am exited to continue learning. I love shecodes.

My name is Cindy, my last role was as an Operations Manager managing the team and software for a start-up company, I wanted a career change in my life as I do find it fascinating to code, as until now I had no experience in coding I realized that with SheCodes that this goal can be achieved, Matt explains very well, equip you with the tools and I especially loved the flexibility of the course.

I just completed a basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript bootcamp and it was fantastic. The projects were practical, and the hands-on practice was invaluable. I thoroughly enjoyed the SheCodes basic workshop. CSS , Html and Javascript went from being things that were foreign to me ,to being coding languages whose functionality made sense to me. The reviews for the homework we had to submit weekly , helped me improve my work and always served as a learning opportunity.
I enjoyed course a lot! So challenging firstly but then started to became more and more clear :) Nice experience.
What can I say about She Codes? I am transitioning to UX, and a friend of mine has recommended She Codes. I was a little bit scared because I had never thought about working with coding. And then I started the course, and I can say that Matt's teaching, the way the course is conducted, the challenges—everything helped me achieve a very good performance. I've just discovered that I love coding, and as Matt says, "coding is really fun."
This add-on helped answer so many questions I had when I was going through the basic class and the project was super fun!
This workshop was amazing. Matt's videos give us enough to understand what to do, but also allow us to push ourselves in the challenges. It was amazing working on the challenges and getting to solve them by myself. This was an amazing journey and an informative one, I have learnt a lot about coding and web development.
Such a great workshop! It is key if you want to make your webpages responsive, aka good-looking in mobile devices, which is of course crucial if you want to become a front-end dev. As with the other workshops I've done so far, Matt explains everything in a completely understandable manner. I love how we can follow everything step by step, even what to do when we make a mistake! It gives us the necessary tools to do what we are supposed to with some confidence on the way. It's naturalness makes it more attainable. I also feel that little by little I manage to ask less for help, not because I know everything, but because I have the tools to find the answers I need by myself. Looking forward to the Responsive Adds-on and SheCodes React!
Excellent course, a great add on to the basics and I can already notice my progress. When I compare the project I did for the add-on workshop to the one I did for the basics one, the difference is astonishing. The learning is palpable and very exciting! Can't wait to start on the Plus workshop!

Building responsive webpages by use of flex and grid seemed to be a giant that only those with computer science degrees would hack. Thanks to Matt for the well step by step explanations of the concepts, I can now use the flex and grid very comfortably.

I got laid off in December and struggled to find work as a UX designer. The UX market isn't great at the moment and I can see there are a lot of developer opportunities, so I decided to upskill in coding. After learning coding from Matt, I upgraded to Max.
